The cat did attempt to help in the knife ending but not as much as the sea salt one. Camellia didn’t do much but stay idle while Rosetta is crying “No” and asking for Camelia to help her while she’s dragged away. Though, we can appreciate her more than the “cat” from The Witch’s House. Really, cats can be written as different types of characters, which really depends on how the author or script writers will give dialogue to the characters and ways they interact with one another in a story.

bro, I needed this advice for a long time, but sometimes I can never bring myself to be selfish, and end up in trouble no matter how many times I either think of others or myself. If I were in Rosetta's shoes, I wouldn't have given up my legs either, but like her, I would've had the same thoughts after rejecting the offer, thinking I wasn't a good person or thinking I was selfish. And heck, just like you, I'm also pretty obsessed of the idea of "being good", and even would sacrifice my wants for needs, and my happiness for other people's happiness. But to put simply, I also related to this protag a lot, and I love the way the developer wrote the story. The buildup towards the conflict was really well done, along with the endings.

YOU are worth it just as much as others... despite what you are taught all other things about putting others first... Sure we see a lot of heroes, or people who risk their lives for others, but life isn't black and white... It's grey...It's very grey... I've struggled with things the same as you... The era you're talking about is when I split videos into 20 minute to 40 minute parts, videos have been more tightly edited and now go up into single up to 2 hours to 3 hours for quite some time. The amount of viewable minute by minute content or per video content dwarfs the old era by a large margin.

yeah, i really love those RPG maker horror games. I was super happy too when Manly made an OMORI playthrough. Maybe he could play fear & hunger, but that would be hard with all the censoring Manly has to do.

The problem with the wedding imo is that its entirely detached from the rest of the story. The wedding would make more sense if instead the 2 were engaged before the well showed up. So everything with the well is an intrusion rather than something that just happens before Chris proposes as an unrelated incident. Creating some thematic link or something might be nice but it'd basically require telling a completely different much more "dramatic" story. Even then it'd still be awkward to have Chris propose here. Its sort of a "non-story" placed right between the climax and the epilogue. Changing the prologue a bit to mention that the wedding is coming. Change one of the bad endings so that everyone looks for her because she didn't show up to something in preparation for the wedding (or the wedding itself). Maybe, she was supposed to talk to the caterer about the menu or something. I think it'd be a really strong change.

I’m 40-years-old and only discovered him maybe a year ago. It’s so lovely that Manly and these indie games bring together people of all ages, and from all around the world.

I actually did have plans to give the Tiramisu siblings more focus in newer games (in particular, I had an idea involving Ariel and Dolores's [the hairball in Rosetta's wedding photo] wedding anniversary. I feel that that game's probably far off into the future since I suck at storytelling lol). In particular, the wedding scene was somewhat of my method to give payoff to all the character introductions Rosetta had set up in her initial questionnaire with Galatea. Ariel wasn't even supposed to show up at all initially, and was only included 'cause I felt bad about not giving him a design...

Not a sequel, this is the first game of its kind. The writing is design around taking advantage of RenPy's rollback feature, so you can roll back to a previous choice and see all the available lore. Perhaps I should've somehow made that more obvious.

​@@MadamePhotonIt's definitely a charming artstyle, world and story as is, but if you don't mind a bit of criticism: the best ending was really sappy in a good way--cute and heartwarming--when experienced the way Manly presented it, last, or after seeing at least one bad end, especially the "Legs to one" ending. But if a player gets the best ending on their first go, that ending is going to feel far too drawn out and lose it's appeal, or worse, make Rosetta look Mary Sue-ish when she's really not. While I like that the path to the best ending is logical, you only have 6 real choices/branches in this game, so getting the best ending first with how perfectly clean it is would feel rushed and unearned. Some other games can pull stuff like this off with even less branching paths, but usually they aren't strictly visual novels and can insert a gameplay segment which fills in for the sense of the protagonist's achievement or agency. The first half of the game is very well executed and does a good job of characterizing and giving the player a reason to care about Rosetta, but the second half would have really benefited from some extra choices, even if they just led back to "La Rosa Blue" ending, or some extra scenes detailing either the horror surrounding Rosetta or her terror to give the sense that Rosetta truly had to struggle and persevere to survive. Galatia's reappearance looks great, but the art of the arms invading the house and outright attacking Rosetta inside kinda fell flat. I think some more dynamic angles inside the house would have gone a long way in improving those scenes, or alternatively showing more damage to the house and implying a bit more speed like earlier with the blurred/focus. Though I must say, "Legs to One" is a fantastic horror/tragedy ending--seeing the characters Rosetta has gushed over grieving her and the implications of the well demon showing up to target them next with her corpse is an amazing gut punch!

If making this game (especially the CGs) taught me anything, it's that I am no good at art and I don't have the energy to make too much of it, especially when it comes to this sort of stuff. You can kinda see where I sorta gave up in the art if you look close enough. It's for this reason and several others that I've recently begun doubting if I want to continue making VNs, but if I do, I'll keep this stuff in mind. (P.S: I'd like if you could refrain from using the term Mary Sue to refer to my stuff in the future, even in a critical context. I have bad experiences with that phrase...)

@Melody Harmonia I'm not worried about the pacing of the VN itself. While it reads as a sequel, it reads like a good sequel. I just feel like I have skipped the exposition where we get to meet the friends and family, and have them introduced properly. They seem like a wonderful crew, and it sounded like there have been some wonderful experiences before the events of this VN, but having all of these wondrous people crammed in at the end without knowing who they are and how they tie together feels a little hollow. Being from a decidedly human-centric society, I am prone to just expecting the friends and family to be human, and might need a bit more exposure to them to make it smoother ☺️ I certainly want to see more from you, whether in visual or pure text form!

@MadamePhoton Yeah! Bathtub Mermaid is about a girl who is trapped in a relationship and trying to find the best in her situation. Being manipulated into giving all of herself to her significant other and abandoning her own life for them, only to end up trapped. After all, a mermaid in a bathtub is unable to truly do anything with her life. Rosetta is sung from the perspective of an abuser. They are telling the girl Rosetta how to live her life, and when she tries to run away, they tell her everyone will betray her and the only place she belongs is with them. Somebody who is extremely possessive and selfish and wants her all to themself. Camelia is a song about a physically and possibly sexually abusive relationship where the girl murders her partner after a violent bout. And is dealing with the trauma from the situation. The singer is their own mind trying to convince them that they did the right thing and telling them that they're stronger than they think they are. Camelia and Rosetta are also both, of course, flowers, and flowers represent purity. In both Rosetta and Camelia, the line "Don't let yourself corrupt" is inserted, suggesting there's a link between the two songs. Maybe Camelia is a direct sequel to Rosetta. Sorry for the text wall, Mili is my absolute favorite artist of all time lol.
