Here's an idea: you play by these rules for a pre-determined amount of time (lets say 1 h). When you find a shiny, only the player that found the shiny restarts the game. In the end... the player that is the furthest in the game wins.

A rule i'd add to this, if you wanna see who can beat the game first, is that every pokecenter can be a checkpoint, but you can't save twice in a row at the same pokecenter to save progress, and when flying becomes available all pokecenters have 1 checkpoint save, so you have to strategically use them if you wanna save progress past that point

I once found a shiny piloswine but no one on my team had false swipe So I had my lowest team member attack (Piloswine LV. 60 and My lowest team member, a Toxtricity, LV. 53) I attacked thinking I would only damage it partially but then I got a crit... REEEEEEEEEEEE!!!>:(

@@giantskeleton2 That sucks, man. I always have Pokémon on my team, that have "catching" moves. Thunder Wave, Spore, False Swipe, anything like that. As for balls, Quick Balls, Dusk Balls and Repeat Balls are my favorites. Almost all of my dexes are filled, so Repeat Balls are life savers, if it's not nighttime and my Quick Ball failed. Though, my team is lvl 100, and I'm always careful with the moves I use, seeing how someone lost a shiny that was higher level than their attacker makes me cringe. Crits can be assholes.

Considering the odds are 1/100 in these, that little stunt you pulled at 14:06 was more rare than getting an actual 1/8192 shiny. 1/100 (shiny bulba) x 1/100 (shiny squirt) = 1/10000 double shiny starter

no it´s not, it´s just two separate 1/100 happening at the same time, that doesnt make it 1/10000, the odds are just 1/100 for his squirtle and 1/100 for the bulbasaur

One of the most hilarious ad breaks in this was near the end when they were talking about how cool Luxray is and John says “I cannot agree with you enough.” Except the ads interrupted before the word enough so it sounded like John disagreed! 😂

Just play where only the one who finds the shiny resets. That way when the other, who is progressed further, has to reset. That way it’s a heavier blow. I would think it as a more fun, less repetitive way to play further into the game. ❤️

the thing where you go into your menu is for those spinner trainers, it allows you to slip past without them noticing, but i think you gotta go in your bag or something. to avoid encounters in tall grass i think the speedruns have done rng manipulation

I have played through firered multiple times without encountering a shiny the entire playthrough and 1 time I tried to shiny hunt squirtle in firered and it took almost 10000 resets it was ridiculous

What’s crazier: the fact that the catching tutorial is the last shiny, the starter for PokeMan is the first shiny, or the second to last round has BOTH STARTERS as shinies for PokeMan? I think it’s both starters. That’s insane. Imagine a play through with that.

So, the chances of encountering a Shiny here is 1%. 1% does not equal 100%. Therefor 1% equals 50%. .... There's gonna be a lot of shinies here.

This is actually a really funny idea for an actual "competitive" playthrough. Just like how your Black & White Metronome Nuzlockes were scored by death points where the loser was the one with the most points at the end of the game, you could use the same idea here except the loser is the one who finds the most shinies by the end of the game. I'd TOTALLY watch that playthrough. It could lead to some hilarious reactions.
