I always pick the grass starter. I always say I’m gonna pick another type but when they line up, the green ones are just too cute to pass up 😅 I do choose the other types when I replay the games tho

As children and has continued into adulthood, my brothers and I would each pick a starter. In most of the games, I have had every grass except Chespin and Grookey in the first playthroughs. It is interesting to hear what people did as kids, how they chose a starter if their siblings or friends played the games.

The only exceptions being Gen 2 and Gen 4 where we switched types and she picked the fire type instead! Getting two consecutive shiny starters at those odds is a 1/10,000 chance event. Which is rarer than actual shinies in a Normal pre gen 6 game😂

I usually pick the Fire starter, not because I hate the Grass or Water starters, but I just like the Fire starter better. My all time favorite starter is Infernape. I did, however, pick Chikorita in Soul Silver, Snivy in Black/White and Black/White 2 and Froakie in Y. I also plan on picking Sprigatito in Scarlet/Violet, so I do sometimes pick others. In fact, funny enough, Water is the starter I've picked the least. Which is ironic considering blue is my favorite color.

Out of the three base elements, I usually pick the Water starters, but my first ever starter was Snivy in Black and I chose Bulbasaur in Red, Rowlett in Sun.

Ooh, John, I had a suggestion for you! I love the concept of this video, but how to expand on it? Make it an extended, multivideo race! After beating a gym, you can save, so your reset point advances every time. First to beat Wallace (over the course of 8-10 videos, maybe!) is the true winner!

I have used most of the grass starters except for Grookey, and although I have not played Gen 5, I was traded a Snivy in Ultra Sun, and I used it the entire playthrough

I’ve used a starter of each type at least once. I usually lean towards water type since I just love the water types and typings. Piplup is still one of my favourite starters. Snivy is also on my fav starter list. I don’t care what you say, Snivy is cute af.

7:30 I usually rotate, just to give them all a shot in a play through, yes this also means I have used a Chicorita and it was hell, it instantly made the game hard mode xD. But in my first runs I have used all types, - Charmander in Red, Squirtle in Leaf green. - Totodile in Gold, because croco-boy, Cindaquil in soul silver. - Treecko in Ruby (because it looked cool), Mudkip in Alpha sapphire. - Chimchar in pearl (basicly a must in pearl, if you want a fire type and not be stuck with a Ponyta). (currently doing a re-play on Brilliant diamond and did choose a Piplup for this run). - Snivy in Black. - Tepig in White 2. - Froakie in X. - Rowlet in Sun. - Sobble in Sword. - Planning on using Fuecoco in either Scarlet or Violet (depends on which game a buddy of mine and I settle on (as I had sword last time and he picked shield)) because Croco-pepper-boy xD.

Wow! I never expected to hear something that instantly reminds me of my childhood while attempting my first nuzlocke (bet I'll regret it cause I get very attached to all my pokemon). Anyway, back when Sliver and gold came out, I finally got into Pokemon and was given Sliver for my birthday. My two older brothers were already into pokemon and were each given gold. I was a possessive little brat and didn't want to share my starter, thus demanding rules to our pokemon picks! After a game of rock-paper-siccors the order was set. First, my brother picked the fire type. Second, my eldest brother picked water type. So I, yes me, was left with Grass! For the next few years whenever I started any pokemon game (along with my brothers) we'd stick to our types. This did stop after my big brothers stopping playing the games after X and Y. Still though, I see grass starters as "mine". They hold a very unique place in my heart: that selfish little girl in me giggles when I pick the grass starter of any generation.

I always pick the grass type starters because they normally have better and cooler designs, my favourites are Rowlet, Bulbasuar and Grooky so thank you for acknowledging grass type lovers

You guys should do this with S/V but with checkpoints, haha. Like finishing that horribly long walk with the box legend through the cave lets you save, reaching Los Platos lets you save, same with Mesagoza.

I personally pick which ever design I like the best. Starters Picked: Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Torchic, Piplup, Snivy, Popplio, Scorbunny, Oshawott, Fennekin, and (next) Sprigatito. Generally and equal amount of each type.

I always pick the grass starter when playing a gen for the first time. Have ever since getting Red/Blue as a kid.

I met a kid at school who had a bulbasaur keychain on his bag and when I complimented him for it he told me "grass starters for life" Im not a person who always picks the same type for my starters (snivy in bw2, tepig in bw and piplup in pt) but he is

2 years later and still a fun watch. While I do change it up, for a while I was picking Grass starters for a bit.

I always started with bulbasaur because he is the most logical starters for the first three gyms plus the caves because of pokemon like Onix and geodude, so yeah for me bulbasaur was my first ever choice specially in leaf green.

The odds of finding back to back shiny starters are rarer than a shiny starter in the regular games and back to back to back shinies are 1 in a million. Also finding a shiny starter and shiny zigzagoon are also rarer than a shiny starter in the regular games

i have used consecutive grass type starters in: ultra moon, let's go(i immediately got a bulbasaur and never caught any other starter for the playthrough), and shield

Most of the starters I've picked are Water types (Mudkip, Oshawott, Popplio, Sobble, Quaxly) but Grass is not far behind in numbers (Bulbasaur, Turtwig, Chespin). Funny enough, my only Fire type pick (Cyndaquil) is the one that happens to be my favourite starter overall.

I don’t always choose the grass started, but there are some of my faves in that category (Bulbasaur, Treecko, Snivy, Rowlet and Sprigatito)

I've chosen Grass starters in every game I played cuz it's also my fav type. Specially I love the first 5 grass starters being Venusaur, Meganium, Sceptile, Torterra and Serperior... I don't think I'll change my starter decisions even if the most terrible comes out cuz I love Grass types

It been awhile since this video was posted but I always with my first play through of a generation I use the grass type

I (almost) always pick the grass starter. I use the other ones too, when replaying a game, but I always do my first playthrough with a grass starter. Those are the ones I tend to use the most in replays as well. Pearl was my very first game, and Turtwig my very first starter. BW I picked Snivy. HeartGold was a Chikorita. And so on, so forth. Only game that I broke the pattern on was Emerald; I started with Torchic. I wasn't doing that on purpose, btw - I only realised it a couple years back during I had a conversation with a friend on the topic
