Never ceases to amaze me... people get paranoid about someone with a camera....Yet all around. all day and night ...365 days a year we are vidoed constantly.... human logic eh ,!!!!
If you check the Network Rail website it states that you are welcome to film at the stations but requests that you inform the station manager. Further permission is not required.
"You got 2 cameras thats more than normal..." Actually officer you yourself have got at least 3 camera on YOUR person.. So having multiple cameras is hardly any indication of suspicious activity is it.. When i take my motorbike to work i have anywhere up to 8 cameras on and about my person.. I usually have= Front /rear dash cam (x2) 3x on phone 2x on my tablet Plus sometimes a helmet cam x1 Works phone is 3x more.. So thats actually 11 cameras Goodness i must really be up to no good eh?
In all fairness the constable did a good job,he had to speak to you because he was approached by security but didn't over step his mark. Good work officer.
Awesome Video! BTW: The large river is the famous River Thames! The Kennet & Avon Canal is further south & goes through the Oracle Shopping Centre - around 10mins walk from the station.
There used to be trainspotters all over the rail network. Were they apprehended by Transport Police every time they flashed their box Brownies? Or is this just since New York World Trade Centre was attacked 22 years ago?

In answer to that coppers suggestion about why don’t you speak to the people at the railway rather than trust in your drone? The answer is very , very obvious to anyone over the age of 2. Management often lie through their teeth, the app tells you the truth. That’s why you don’t waste your time speaking to liars.

Have these cops never seen historical footage from 1930s? Video of shipyards, football stadiums, town centres, trains? We need footage for future generations.
It does puzzle me they use the security risk as a potential problem. People who are trained and capable are unlikely to draw attention to themselves by filming in an overt way. Plus, they will take all info in by eye over several visits, use existing video online. Officer is decent and professional.
According to the BTP cop you need to ask the station staff if you are allowed to fly your drone😀. Obviously the cop doesn’t understand that the railway or BTP don’t own the air space. In fairness the cop was reasonable in his manner, and I’m sure he will learn from your video.
Flying drones near railway lines is risky, especially if there are catenary wires. If your drone hit the catenary wire, I doubt there would be much left of it.
Copper is also wrong, train station is not a public space, its a privately owned space by either the TOC or Network Rail. So they can refuse you recording but as i say wont need a permit for what you are doing
Just a thought. What about taking the card out of the camera and holding it as if you were filming. I’d love to see how security and/or police handle that one.
A good video the Auditor was respectful, the Police Officer enquired and was satisfied, the Security Guard asked and wasn't sure so sought out support. All in all, everyone played their part. Good common sense by all.
The more you talk to the police for a lawful activity the more they will take. Remain silent its your right never think its just a chat when they approach you. Suspicious about a camera what about the other 3 million around he must be a busy officer.😂😅😂
You really don't need to talk to the Police. They behave like we have to satisfy their nosiness; we don't. He had no resasonable grounds to do anything and therefore had no powers.
I once counted a speaker's use of 'actually'. Fifty-seven times in twenty minutes though I may have missed a few. I don't mind if you don't believe me because I was stumped myself by the end.
