Well written and read. By the end I felt bad for both of them. She effed up and the author didn't let her off the hook, but her redemption was sincere and she was so dedicated by going to whatever lengths she needed to prove herself to him that she was heartbroken at the end when she didn't understand what went wrong. The sympathy for him needs no justification. Just...damn.

That was the same for my first marriage. Difference was that I kicked her out instead of wringing her neck. The new wife is younger and completely open with me cause she has been hurt before too. It's tough because even if your not the reason for you spouses choices you feel like it. It's all in the head and it hurts your heart. Hope you found someone great bud.

As someone who’s been cheated on in several relationships it ain’t always that easy. You still have love for them and considering they were gonna have a whole baby it’s definally not gonna be an easy decision. People push others away when something traumatic happens and he wanted to give her space. I do think he should have left her though.

It’s a little unrealistic how the wife being so lovey dovey with the other guy actually went back with the MC without a hitch. She only stopped talking to her lover because she got caught, otherwise it would’ve kept going. I personally would never forgive such a thing. Also, do phones have a pre-scheduled message option?

This whole story is so sad. I mean, he kept forgiving her, despite the cheating, which is way more than most people would do. She did the right thing by keeping the side dude blocked, but her husband snapped after seeing that the side dude was still trying to contact her because of all the pain he stuffed down and ignored.

The way I saw it, she was ready to kill someone for her first true love and that's just what she did. Though she did think that she and her husband were falling apart and got a side dude, she still chose to come back to him and work things out. She was willing enough to kill her newfound happiness just so she could work things out between her and the husband.

@@gloowm6721 if you listened to what alan's wife said, he killed himself, of his own volition, after she ceased contact. Kate didn't and wouldn't have even known it even happened. She's not responsible for that, any more then alan himself was. They were obviously both cheating at that time on their spouses. Kate however cut it off, likely with zero warning or explanation. Him setting up automated messages is fucking weird, can you even do that so far I'm advance? I thought it was alan just being delusional and continuing to message her, which our protagonist should have assumed as he never saw replies from kate just messages from alan

What are you talking about it ended with him finding out those new messages were made months ago and set up to send to her at specific times. She didn't even know they were being sent. This story is more of a tragedy then horror seeing as if he'd let her explain then they would of been fine. (Not to defend cheater just talking about the situation in the story.)

I liked the story, but the twist at the end was a bit...weird. Why would the guy pre-schedule messages to his affair, especially ones that sound like reactions to real interactions with her. It would've been more probable if Allan was some kind of manipulative bastard, that figured out she blocked him because her husband found out and kept sending messages as if they were still seeing each other to drive them apart.

Man this hits home! The story started out almost just like what happened to me and my wife a couple years after we got married. The only difference is that we actually did work things out instead of the way this one ended. Sad though, it brought back a lot of pain and heartache but I’m glad it happened honestly because it made me reflect on my issues and fix them. If it didn’t happen I may not be here today with the path I was going down.

Sounds like the protagonist of this story REALLY jumped the shark by assuming that the wife was still cheating on him with Alan when in reality...the messages were pre-sent to her phone months before he died in a car accident. It was still selfish of her to have an affair during a time where couples are SUPPOSED to be in healing TOGETHER and her blaming part of the affair on him is typical...because she doesn't want to fully accept what she had caused on the marriage. Most partners accused of cheating don't want to fully own up to what they did and how they hurt their significant other. Lastly, while Katie may have been telling the truth by stating that she wasn't talking to Alan anymore...she is still guilty of keeping his messages.

@Travis Fresh So Allen is the man Kate met up with instead of going to the spa with a group of infertal women like she said. Allen had a child witch is probably why Kate wanted to be with him in the first place. We can assume Allen was married or at the very least a baby momma who cared for him considering the anger over the phone. He died in a car crash but we don’t know how that happend it’s really not important either. Do you have any other questions?
