I’m still dumbfounded: there’s a guard on a horse, flanked by two heavily armed military police officers. But you want your picture, and step between the police and the guard. What are these people thinking? As we say: vacant upstairs room for rent…
The armed guards are nothing to do with the Lifeguards, they are Ministry of Defence Police officers and their job is to ensure the public's safety...not to control the crowds around the horses. There is no specific reason why there are two of them near one of the Guards...they are scanning the crowd for suspicious activity which might indicate a terrorist attack. They were on high alert today due to another pro-Palestine demonstration taking place along Whitehall this afternoon. The Metropolitan Police were out in force in full riot gear, including the Police Horses, and the road was closed to traffic because of the protest. The horses in the sentry boxes weren't replaced after their hour's duty, and the whole of Horseguards was shut down later. This was as much about the public's safety as that of the Guards and the horses. It's a real shame that the tourists had to be disappointed though.
@@Tiredofitall901 • John of "London City Walks" channel was filming at Horse Guards from earlier in the morning yesterday (Saturday) so he was able to find out. His video "LEAVE NOW! POLICE remove IDIOT from Horse Guards after disrespecting the King." is well worth a watch. (Sorry, I have no idea how to post a direct link to the video. 😔)
He seems to be mouthing out of curiosity and because he enjoys it. When there are no people to chomp on the bit is constantly on the go. His ears are forward. He's not unhappy.
My guess is there was some kind of threat to the horse itself! But two policemen with automatic rifles and looking very fierce…I certainly would respect and move on!
Amo quando o guarda deixa às rédeas arriadas para que o cavalo morda os turistas imbecis 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤😂esse é meu guarda e cavalo preferidos . Amo demais essa dupla ❤❤❤❤
They aren’t military police they are ministery of defence police. Military police join the army and serve through out the world wherever there are serving soldiers, they wear army uniform and have red hats and berets I should know I was one!
Are these tourists "lacking in brain celI's" when after the horse has shown his dislike of them they keep on going back for more simply for a "photograph"
The armed police officers are not part of the King's Lifeguards, the British Army, or the Metropolitan Police. They are Ministry of Defence Police and they are responsible for public safety at Horseguards, which is a MoD building and courtyard. They are always on the lookout for any suspicious activity which could indicate a possible terrorist threat. The fact that there are 2 of them next to one horse is possibly because there are more people surrounding that particular box...their job is to protect the public not the horses. 🙂
It’s absolutely astonishing!! Imagine those bits catching the baby or children’s head, never mind the weight of the horse. Some people are staggeringly stupid.
There was a planned 'Pro-Palestine' demonstration taking place in the afternoon. The Met Police were out in force and the MoD armed police were also on high alert.
