It's mostly people who are speaking Tagalog coz po and opo are not being practiced or integrated to another language in the Philippines, such as Ilonggo and Cebuano. Not that they are being disrespectful, but I love to say po and opo now that am living in Manila. :-)
This doesn't really apply to Filipinos in general. Might I remind you that people in Visayas speak Bisaya (and some other dialects) and we don't use po or opo.
+Meister Redfox We learned that it is BAD MANNERS to point with your hand (or index finger). So we point with our lips. How else may one point without using the hands?
You know you're a Filipino child when your relatives ask if you have Boy friend of girlfriend or crush. After you say "no" they would say, "Good, pocus on your grades and studies ha. walang Boypriend or girl priend yet"
Joan Lampinigz when i had my first vacation in ilocos, i stayed w/ my aunt who had a mini store & people would come to buy soda. They'd say "could i have a coke." & my aunt would asked "what kind?".. yes, in Manila, i often hear people call it soft drinks for sodas.
I'm Mexican, but I was giggling thinking wow, maybe my family is Filipino and my life has all been a lie XD but seriously, mostly all of these things are very common to Mexican households as well.
Whether you like it or not during the Acapulco- Manila galleon trade, there were so many native brown Filipinos who worked on board a Galleon. Many of them stayed in Texas, which was then called Nueva Filipinas and a part of Mexico. You must really have a Filipino ancestor from the Philippines.
Filipino and Mexican/Spanish culture are pretty much the same that's 'cause Philippines was once invaded by Spaniards in the late 1890's and they put a big impact on the Philippine culture. If you haven't noticed Filipino and Mexican/Spanish people share the same accent and language.

CollegeJesters Correction! The Spaniards were in the Philippines as early as 1521! The Americans colonized the Philippines in the late 1890's after defeating the Spaniards in the moro-moro battle of Manila Bay!
+NepzLaiBariLaiNepz You are very disrespectful,Learn to respect other countries just because you hate them doesn't mean you have to say it in public and atleast spell it right, this is why we are more respectful than you
NepzLaiBariLaiNepz The feeling is mutual hmp! We are respecting other country. And you will say that kind of shit to us? Its an embarassment to your country and your family. . . You're showing us that your parents did not raise you right. . . Do you want us to think of it .that way? , , Tsk.
Even how long you stayed in a foreign Country, you still have the traits and habits of a real 'Filipino'!, you can't take that away from anyone. So as the 'accent'!; you can take as much English classes as you want, read more etc., there are times that the accent will be noticeable when you speak (without you knowing it). That is a sign that you're a true Filipino....
my wife came to the states in early 1972 at age 18. I met her in Sept 1973. At that time she had only a slight accent left. By the time we got married in Feb 1974 it was almost all gone. By a year later no one could tell she was born and raised in the PI. Everyone believed she was 2nd Generation that grew up here in the states. Yet, her siblings still have a noticeable accent even after all these decades. Odd how that happens.
you know you’re a filipino when your parents say “close the lights/open the lights” this is how my cousins, aunts and uncles say “turn off the lights/turn on the lights”
Though He slay me, still I will hope in Him. (Job 13:15) I'm praying on your behalf islands of the Phillipines! Our God is strong in our weakness, he will uphold you with his right hand. #prayforphilippines Sing His praise from the end of the earth! You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it. You islands, and those who dwell on them. (Isaiah 42:10)
I think the wooden "Tinikling" portraits and the giant spoon and fork is quite applicable to Filipinos in the provinces. You don't see them much in the urban areas since they're mainly westernized.
+KawaiixSenpai I was talking online to my Pinay fiancee and talked about ac. She didn't know what I meant so I told her "you call it aircon". Their taxis and buses advertise on the vehicle aircon.
I remember when i was a little kid, i had and infant Jesus statue like the one in their home but ours had an red cloak. So i remember playing with my brothers and we accidentally knocked down the infant Jesus, it fell, and his head got separated.... his head was cut off! Well broke off. But the good thing is my mom glued the head back to the body and he looks totally normal. I'm sorry Jesus. Also i'm Filipino xD
My llate(nuhuli) wife(asawa) of (sa) 31 years(taons) was from Cavite City. I have runner nasa (in) my sala(living room), foil nasa ang(the) convection oven. The outside(labas) I'm of (Sa) Irish-Norwegion ancestery, but inside(sa loob) I'm FIlipino.
They're like my grandparents but they don't know a lot of English and they fight more. Haha, great video! I loved how relatable it was for our fellow kabayan. :)
You know you're a filipino when you like to eat fried rice for breakfast with longanisa (sausage), tapa (dried beef) or dried fish with fried eggs and tomatoes with your hand :-)
I got a rice cooker nasa my home, runner nasa sala, tabo nasa master bedroom bathroom, foil nasa convection oven. I was kasal 31 taon sa wonderful Filipina babae from Cavite City. We had tatlo anak. I'm AMerican sa Irish-Norwegion ancestery sa labas, but sa loob & nasa my puso-FIlipino. Aww. This is gr8! Also, U know you're Filipino when your grandparents don't kiss you on the cheek. They kinda pull their lips in and "smell/sniff" you. My Lola used to do that too! 😁
karaoke, tabo, had a rose garden in philipines, flip flops, fake plants, the cds they didn't add curtains. but I'm not as filipino as I thought. I'm a clusterfuck of cultures

Tabo or Dipper that's the thing I always want to be present wherever I go even in hotels because its still better way to wash and clean yourself after taking a dump instead of using tissue its just so uncomfortable well except those emergency situations ofcourse hehehe ;P
Thanks for sharing thing. They were so cute! I loved their reactions when they realized they were such a close match. And that nose kiss was adorable. Hmmm...maybe my family is part Filipino and I didn't know it lol My mom does the carpet runners (they've had both plastic & currently rugs), she used to keep plastic on her lamp shades...now she keeps clear plastic on the table to cover the cloth. She has the last supper but it's a sculpture - my aunt had the painting. My parents had the giant wooden spoon & fork, they still have fake plants everywhere (some are the old plastic kind!), She's got the toaster oven foil & she keeps her baking dishes & sheets in the oven too. They actually keep some of their used foil & gallon ziplocs, rinse them and reuse them. Another thing they do is wash disposable cutlery, solo cups & used cool whip containers to re-use. Funny!
+Angela Schmidt (Charismakitty) All of you forgot that you cannot move into a house unless it has a resident gecko lizard. You remember keeps the bad spirits out of the house.
