Nice bike tour through a beautiful countryside! Abandoned railroads are great for bike roads because the grade is never very steep (although you can get long, slow inclines). They are in the process of finishing a railroad-to-bike road conversion that crosses the entire Olympic Peninsula, 209 km. long. Long sections of it are already in use. It's called the Olympic Discovery Trail.

Stunning trip indeed: you can compare the spectacular scenary of Julian Alps and rivers, with the most famous Donau - Wien bike path that I made in 2016. Moreover is slightly more various I can see: so that' s the reason why my male collegue ( who had worked in Tolmezzo in his first experience) an his wife are dreaming to move back in your country. Beautiful adventure, Mary Jane. I lived in FVG (Marsure) for 13 years and it was nice to revisit the many towns and villages I have been to. I miss it so much, especially the frico😋

7:37 It's the unofficial "correct" way. The train route is not finished there yet and otherwise you would have to drive on the main road like at 8:05. Best regards

Me ne sono accorta poi! Una vergogna che non abbiano ancora sistemato quel tratto. In base a quello che ho visto basterebbe un po' di sfalcio di rami e una gettata d'asfalto.

@@WhatashameMaryJane 7:19 Dal 12 Luglio è stato aperto il nuovo tratto di ciclabile sul sedime della vecchia ferrovia Moggio - Carnia, per cui non è più necessaria quella deviazione. Apparteneva alla vecchia Statale Pontebbana, abbandonata nel 1969. Ci sono voluti più di due anni per mettere in sicurezza quel tratto, molto pericoloso a causa di caduta massi. Grazie per questo bel video, ciao!

@@WhatashameMaryJane E' stata inaugurata nel 2008, se non ricordo male, per il tratto da Tarvisio a Camporosso. Poi nel corso degli anni (e dei soldi) per tutto il resto. Ma si sa, siamo in Italia e anche la burocrazia ci mette molto del suo. Grazie ancora e buone pedalate! ❤
