the rubber bead is not there to protect the glass bead but to protect the knot I don't use a rubber bead myself and neither have I had any problems with the knot, nor has a glass bead ever broken
Hey Nathan that was a good video! Summertime this is my go to set up an it can’t be beat. One thing I could add when you put that barber stop above the swivel go with the biggest one you can find. Sometimes the hole in the plastic bead will swallow up the size stopper you showed. And the zoom or monster is a staple but I’ve been experimenting with the Z man giant Trd. Try that out see what happens. Keep the good videos coming
Great video!!👊🏻 Thanks for sharing those starting tips!! Going up to Shenango in a couple weeks and could use it there and will give it a try!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!
I use a mono leader off a braid mainline. Also use a tungsten worm weight l have stayed away from glass beads but after the bobber stopper trick l will give it a shot. Ol monster in June bug or a brush hog are my go to bait. Really need to look into the 6th sense baits and get you a little kick back. Thanks man
I’d do an 8:3.1 reel with a 7’9” med hey fast or mod fast one. The longer rod and faster ratio reel will help catch up and have more leverage. I go 14 or 17 # trilene xt green mono and 12-14# trilene xt green leaders with brass or tungsten weight with glass beads. I have only had one or two glass beads to mess up out of 20+ years of using them.
My all-time fav C-rig bait was a 4" ringworm (like a zoom). Lots of bites. Think it would be a great follow-up date to a bigger profile bait like you mentioned. Also, a Carolina rig is essential to have with you when you're fishing out of the back of somebody's boat.
Here on the TVA we're throwing a mid size C Rig right now . 3/8 brass barrel weight with a aluminum bead . Slap a Lake Fork Tackle Ring Worm on a 3/0 EWG and go to work . This setup has been working great on 15 lb test
Nathan as always thanks for your time. Why should we bother with all the rigging just to lose it. here on the suskie thats a garantee for sure. Split shot or pegged bullet far more simple ? What am i missing ? I know we all really appreciate your effort & time
Nathan…. Would like to give you “props” for the time, effort, and dedication you put forth on your channel BTW: It didn’t go unnoticed that you personally answer almost every post …. On behalf of the rest of your faithful followers…. GOOD JOB 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Paul
Tie swivel on first, cut it off the length u want your leader and every knot can be a palomar. Hook is the last thing u tie on. Leader and main line will be same test line but small price to pay to have palomar knot on all 3 knots
