ND filters might be a given when filming outside. But why should you always bring them with you when filming inside? Let's go through why you should always film with ND filters when inside!

Someone asked if the same result could have been achieved by adjusting the key light. In this room that might have been an option. In a lot of cases, as mentioned in the video, the surroundings/room might be much brighter, and you'd have to compensate with the light on 100% to be able to expose correctly. The whole point is how you expose for the background/surroundings. In a lot of cases, you can't make your background darker without using an ND and that's what I wanted to emphasize. I think the big take away from this should be that by using an ND inside, when the bakgrxound is bright, you can avoid flat footage, create more depth and add contrasts.

It was an FX6? I amazed how cameras work these days. The built in ND filter. 😁

Thank you for your comment! I’ll keep that in mind for my next ones! Aperture is the f-stop or the value that decides how much of your shot is in focus. The higher aperture value, the more in focus. So if you’re filming with an aperture of 1.2 for instance, you might only have the nose in focus and the rest of the face blurry. Did that make sense?

A great place to start is to research the basic triangles. Aperture, ISO, and Shutter Speed. Once you understand those 3 mechanics and how they influence your image, you'll be on the same page as the majority of camera owners.
