Besides watching all these beauties fly at some of the most awesome locations, my other favorite is hearing stories like Mike and Katie of how it all began, and what BirdTricks has done to make this part of their journey the best experience. Gotta say I’m kind of heartbroken watching these videos. I wanted a macaw so badly & began a lot of preparations with the idea of getting one. I still follow BirdTricks but ultimately they changed my mind about getting a bird at all. I’m confident I’d be a wonderful caretaker but wouldn’t have the time available to give a bird the best life possible. Grateful that BirdTricks provided me with enough of an education to realize it was not the best idea for me. Love you guys! Keep doing what you do!

You’re entitled to having interaction with birds even if you’re not in the position at the moment to own one. Go volunteer at a bird rescue, connect with other BT people in your area, volunteer to bird-sit, etc. You NEVER know what Universe may have in store for you. 😉

❤Yes, bird sanctuaries are an awesome place to interact and to volunteer. But most importantly tho is "kudos to you" for knowing you may not have been the best bird mom you can be at this time!!! But who knows what the future may hold!!!❤

Every time I watch one of these free flight videos, I am completely awe struck. Great job on your first free flight with Pepper. I admire Dave. JamieLeigh, and Capri more with every trip video I watch. The love and passion of you three really comes through in the work you do with the birds and their people. Keep up the good work!!

Is the location chosen because it's easy for birds to see and no distractions?

It’s also chosen for less predator things like eagles and if the bird gets lost it’s easier to find cause unlike a forest it’s barren

From what I have seen in watching a lot of the other videos, the BirdTricks team spends quite a bit of time searching for great locations, with safety in mind. They also look for locations that allow the birds to use their skills. Thats one of the reasons, I would never feel comfortable starting out free flight with anyone else. Maybe some day!!

If you watch multiple freeflight videos you will notice we use different locations for different birds and that just varies based on species, age, predatory activity, seasons, wind condition, weather, etc... different birds have different needs up front and certain locations are going to offer one bird the room to obtain certain skills faster then other locations. We always try to advance the bird's skills on trips so we end up changing the locations up but it really just depends on the bird and how they might be progressing what their needs are. We also have to consider the owner's physical abilities as well.
