Grew up eating all these foods. I never understood why I had such bad acne, why my stomach hurt frequently or even the weight gain that occurred since it was the same diet everyone else ate around me. Once I lived on my own I decided for myself what to buy. I had to re-educate myself which took years but I’m finally on track. I can proudly say every health issue I ever had has disappeared. You are what you eat and that’s the hardest lesson to learn. Thank you for this great video. Continue with the excellent content

Very sad how people live on fast food, take away food, uber eats. I believe it has a lot to do with today's culture that both parents work to buy bigger houses and more things to put in them. The foccus is not on eating healthy. No time for cooking any more. I used to have sushi after gym sometimes but then they started Uber eats deliveries and they added MSG to the sushi which I felt stright away. My body is very sensitive. I cook all my meals. However now at 67 if I have sweet stuff my toes go numb. Even from dates. So I do have to stop sugar. I am very happy I can still have honey in my cacao drinks in the morning.

Yes, covid took a greater toll in metabolically unhealthy populations, as do all infections. However, the U.S. reported deaths from covid was artificially inflated, grossly inflated due to unethical reporting requirements. Do the research 😊

@shellb6045
@shellb6045 Год назад
Who is “they”? And to the person who said, “Do the research”, please share the research. Please provide the links for the evidence-based research that you’ve done to support the idea that the number of covid deaths were “artificially” and “grossly inflated due to “unethical reporting requirements”- given your comments imply that you’ve done the research. Additionally, what were the “unethical reporting requirements” of which you’re aware? I’m no research scientist, data specialist, or data collector (at least not in the realm of covid related death data collection), but I am a fellow human with a science background and a generally open, curious, mind. Thus, to the best of my understanding, “margin of error” is a known and accepted concept in any scientific research and/or statistical data collection…and that’s utilizing the best research or data collection designs and methods. In other words, “margin of error”, in either direction (+/-) is automatically a consideration in reporting as far as I know. The goal is to minimize, to the highest degree possible, gross over- or under-reporting. So, ok, let’s go with your statement that there was gross inflation of the death count. What’s that grossly inflated number and was/is it statistically significant enough to drop our numbers of covid-related deaths below those of other developed countries? From all indications, the prevailing knowledge appears to still be that we fared worse in the U.S., with covid mortality, than many other developed countries and probably worse than needed to happen, but that’s a different conversation. Also, since we seem to be making empirical observations, it’s important to note, too, that some U.S. hospitals were at risk of collapse under the weight of covid disease burden. And many people across the country, with other major conditions, suffered unnecessary delays in treatment (and possibly death) subsequent to the heavy burden of covid disease at the various peaks of the pandemic. Furthermore, how many of those other people eventually contracted covid, while waiting at home to have a critical procedure done, and ultimately died at home as a result of now known covid complications that potentially hastened their demise? More to the point, how many people died at home with covid, in general, who never made the covid related death count because they never made it to the hospital and it was assumed they died of natural causes or as a direct result of whatever pre-existing condition they had? So, my guess is that covid related deaths may have been underestimated. Nevertheless, I’ll refrain from saying things like the numbers were “grossly” and “artificially” over…or…underestimated. Either way, share the vetted, reliable, research and “let a ‘yes’ be yes and a ‘no’ be “no”.

We love Mark Hyman, but he is making the same mistake most low-carb advocates are making when it comes to sugar. Starch, which is glucose, and table sugar, which is 50 percent fructose and is very sweet are NOT metabolically the same on our body. When experts say "sugar is sugar," they don't know what they are talking about. Humans have been eating various amounts of starch in the form of potatoes, rice, corn and wheat for about 10,000 years without getting metabolic diseases like insulin resistance and diabetes. This is a fact. All you have to do is look at history, and this pattern is crystal clear. People on the island of Tukisenta were studied. They ate a diet of 94 percent starch, yet were free of heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. The question I have, is with how high their insulin was, how come they did not get sick or get insulin resistance? It's because they completely avoided fructose, the sweet sugar that history tells us is the REAL cause of metabolic disease for the most part... And yes, I am on the carnivore diet...

Endurance athletes (not extreme endurance athletes) have a lower risk of all cause mortality and type 2 diabetes yet they eat sugar all day. Overconsumption, lack of exercise is the problem. The overconsumption is due to ultra processed foods that are high in calories and low in nutrition. Ultra processed food are usually high in both fat and sugar making them high in calories. It is not the sugar alone that is causing the problem it is the combined fat and sugar calorie load. Exercise is one of the single most effective ways to control blood sugar. If your sugar consumption is less than you muscle utilisation then sugar in not an issue apart from not being the most nutritional thing to consume.

Tell Dr Tim Noakes that. He was a long-term marathon runner who advocated the use of carbs for endurance runners. Then he got type 2 diabetes. He stopped the carbs and sugars, reversed his diabetes and also managed to improve his running.

@@simonround2439 That doesn’t prevent him eating carbohydrates above his utilisation just saying it is harder for endurance athletes. Each person has most likely got a different baseline also. Stopping carb doesn’t mean you have reverse type 2 diabetes. If your not consuming carbohydrates there is no reason for glucose rise. If you lost enough weight and ate under your bodies utilisation pancreatic functions can return to normal and you can eat carbohydrates again. Know heaps of people doing HCLF that have reversed diabetes. Some of them even increasing the amount of refined sugar they where eating. If sugar was the cause of their diabetes shouldn’t have they gotten worst. It’s 2023. We all know that obesity is the cause of diabetes in the 97%, not sugar. I don’t promote any diet. I think people should find what works for them and there is significant data to make an educated choice.

@@nicktheodorou3474 If you cut right down on your sugar and carbs you won't be obese and you won't have type 2 diabetes. Sure, you can try other things too but that doesn't alter those facts.

@@simonround2439 If you have to cut carbs to control diabetes and your still overweight, then chances are you still have diabetes. Decreasing insulin resistance and increasing insulin sensitivity would be reversing diabetes. This in a lot of cases is simple achieved by loosing weight be it restricting carbs or fat. It’s the reason people can do this with HCLF or LCHF as both help reduce calories. It’s like blaming your jeans because they don’t fit anymore not the fact that you put on weight.

@@nicktheodorou3474 thousands upon thousands of people have reversed type 2 diabetes on a low carb diet - it's fully scientifically established and not even controversial. Here in the UK a doctor called David Unwin has published some amazing material about the patients he has enabled to reverse their diabetes by this method. Excessive carbs and sugar causes T2. Removing excessive carbs and sugar reverses it.
