Ps2 is a pos his awful controller his awful loading times unplayable garbage analog sticks that finally engage wen your almost at the rings and loading times every 3 seconds il pass thanks gc and Wii in its place
Idk if you're jokin but there was a time when Pokemon Diamond was literally all I had. My life was at its lowest point and it was all I had. No tv or anything but a ds and a few games and that was my favorite.
@@Ata_2601 oh hell yeah that was like 16 years ago now. Way better. I'm onto Scarlett now haha. while we are on th subject my little brother just got a DS and likes it a lot so its still very much alive. Got it from a guy in japan and there was selfies the kids took on it. Felt like a foreign artifact
My sister got one in 2005, and it intrigued me so much I ended up getting our own DS Lite models, which then those ones died a year later in 2008, then I got the Nintendo DSi, and to this very day, even after 14/15 years, still works like a charm and I have old photos from 2009/2010 up until 2015 that are still in the system's internal memory to this very day.
@@SuperFlashDriversame my dsi technically still works, its just the bottom touch screen doesnt for some reason. i also have lots of pictures of my family from years ago, i really should get it fixed somehow
@@xypaola Interesting...For me, both the screens work perfectly. It's only the R shoulder button that doesn't register in the games. But everything else, still working from December 25th, 2009 onward, nearly 15 years later.
I’m late to the party but I started with the DS Lite & DSi XL in 2023 and then to end the year I got the New 3DS XL days before 2024 arrived. I seriously wish I got to experience these when I was younger. 😁
Been trying to find my OG DS, I have a DS Lite that I picked up before it was supposed to be garage sale'd and playing on that just kills my hands. But it's been a blast otherwise either reliving or newly exploring a lot of titles on there.
yo get you twilight menu for dsi can play all games including gameboy advance from sd card. the gba processor is still in DSI it just doesn't have card slot.
Please people if you are looking for a ds.. buy a 3ds! Preferably a new 3ds! And don't limit yourself by buying a older ds. The only time I would recommend a ds is when you want one with a gba slot! Other than that.. just buy a 3ds.
The 3DS has terrible scaling for DS games. Either a blurry bilineal filter or a tiny 1:1 mode. The Best way to play DS games on official hardware is still the DS. If you ask me, a DSi XL.
@JoeyRavn don't believe everything you read on the internet bud. Ofcourse native hardware is always better. That being said, scaling is good enough on a normal 3ds. On the 3ds xl it has more issues.
I mean just buy them all as they are going for about 500-2000 yen (US$3-14 or so) it is especially fun to buy the ones with cameras in japan because the memory usually is not wiped and you get to see pictures taken by kids 10 years ago😊
My brother went through 2 of these back in 2008 and 2010 when the xl version came out he had mortal kombat 3 Mario kart Golden eye 07 and naruto best thing it had going for it all your gameboy advance games were completely playable with it me my oldest brother and my dad had PSP handheld ❤❤
This is a DS LITE BRO! But the DS is still great, the DS Lite is the top notch DS however with the screen and GBA slot you can get a Flash Cart for both slots and you have the most perfect device of all time. Then again my newly acquired New 3DS XL is even better er er. Meow.
My new Nintendo 3DS XL is all I need. I had the original Nintendo DS back in the day which was cool and had Pictochat but the 3DS is better. Sure you can't play GBA games but you can play both DS and 3DS games so it makes up for it. Besides if I really wanted to play GBA I could just mod the system but currently I have no interest in modding my 3DS.
Yes, indeed is one of the best handheld consoles as you have a lot of old rpg games, the best of the best. In my case, i have all ds versions, some in double...but i do not use them for gaming or not so much. I use them for synth and chiptune music, as i have in them Nanoloop, LSDJ and all series of Korg softs: DS-10, DS-10+, M01, M01D, DSN-12. Super fun to make songs in handheld console, songs that sound as good as ones made in more sophisticated and professional devices.
Dsi also has slightly bigger screens than the ds light without making the console much bigger. It’s my favorite ds mode because of that and the clicky buttons
Ive been collecting GBA and DS games recently and its such a blast to find these old classics or nostalgic games that i used to play as a child now for really cheap. There are sooooo many games available for this thing, its the best console to collect for together with the gba and gb/gbc
Loved mine I have the dsi xl which is modded with hiya custom firmware and a 3ds xl with custom firmware on that too. I do prefer the dsi xl just for the ability to play older games better.
Get the 3DS. The DS is a classic, but the 3DS is more rare and expensive, and definitely needs to be looked back at. Many underrated and fun games on there. Plus, Special 8 from 3D Land is officially the best song in the world. Don't even argue with me.
@@geggyboy1269 dang… but weirdly I’m seeing a lot of 3DS with price range from $200-$300 and some even way more than that. And here I thought it was new stocks 😭, where do you suggest to buy good conditions 3DS?
@@Blue_Tsuki I'm sorry, but that's the reason I'm trying to get everyone to buy a 3DS now. It's getting more and more expensive as time goes on. I'm trying to spread the word because it's better to get a 3DS now then later. It's only getting more pricy. I'm sorry. 😔
i love the aesthetic of the ds family but i never owned one for myself. i grew up in the 3ds family and hardly got to use my friends ds lite. should i buy one?
I gave away the OG DS to my X when we broke up and many years later I regret it now. I own DS XL, 3DS and just bought DS Lite. GBA Advance Wars here we come :D
Ds is still my favorite console to this day. I own a bunch of 3ds of course. But I like the DS library much more and even though 3ds has backwards compatibility it's really not the same when it comes to playing DS games.
@@x.merlin6147 oh it's hard. That would be FFIII, twewy, mario kart ds, Castlevania order of ecclesia, gta chinatown wars, MegaMan (don't remember the exact part but it's from the X series), Pokemon Black/White (love this and the previous generation so much), rhythm heaven, mario party and probably my absolute favorite, the legend of Zelda Phantom hourglass. That would be it I guess:)
And get an ez-flash Parallel flash cart. Works great. They're still trying to work out an issue where it doesn't go to sleep when closed but its a great way to load ROMs of games that could cost twice its normal retail price. I sold my unopened Zelda Spirit Tracks on ebay for $200! I listed it at $40 to start!
I use to own a DS lite in my early life, but limited my gameplays to Mario and crash games cause I was unaware of the other games it had. I’m thinking of buying another one to experience the games I missed out on, but I’ve been hearing people nowadays talking about how awesome the 3DS is(and even said it’s more worth getting than the Nintendo switch). I don’t wanna buy both since they’re almost identical, so could someone please give me a recommendation on which one to buy?
@hamamudo3011 that is true, but should that be the only reason?(cause it’s rare?) what I would like to know is which games are more worth playing, GBA or 3DS since that’s the only difference between the two consoles. The fact that the 3DS games could not be played by the console made after it made me wonder if it’s because it’s games we’re not appealing enough to make them accessible to the switch. Was that the case?
I've had been going thru a huge nostalgic wave recently that made me wanna play with my Ds and 3ds more than ever and i'm so close to buying a Ds Lite just so i can have an actual Ds on the go.
Lol, well, I'd argue it is going away slowly, when all the hardware has died or sold to idiots who'll throw them in the trash. I'd love for a third party manufacture to prevent that though, one that isn't a super expensive Windows handheld.
Nintendo DSi still have compatibility with Gameboy advance games, 'cause there a secondary arm7 chip inside. You need to place gba roms inside SD card and play them via Twilight menu.
I have a 3DS XL. (my first ds ever) it's a special Pokémon XY edition in red and i got it for free from a barista who knows me at Starbucks a few weeks ago😀😁
“You need a DS in 2024” *Fails to say why. (Note: I do have a DS lite and a nn3ds, but I don’t think the DS lite is good for anything more than nostalgia)
I'd say probably not unless you wanna play GBA games, but even then I'd probably go for the SP at that point for backwards compatibility with GB & GBC games, but YES you're right those shells are awesome!
There was one issue with the dsi which was the power switch board blowing a fuse had this happened to me and 15 years later I finally replaced it lol got all my old memory’s back
well the DS was first released 20 years ago and Gameboy Advance are at least 20 yo so yea they are certainly retro! I miss the Gameboy Colour days though! Loved Pokemon Blue!
i bought my first one in 2020 and i play it more then my switch i tell everyone i know the ds/3ds is top tier when it comes to playing tons of games. im looking to buy a ds lite now just to have one lol.
