I love L'Homme Ideal EDP, was able to pick up the Cologne version and thats a very good one too. My daughter is a trumpet player in middle school and she heard you playing on the live last night. I ordered 2nd soul on that live and told her the notes will be on the box and she said shes going to try to play it.

Vanilla's actually my favorite note! Two that I would add are Memoirs of a Trespasser from Imaginary Authors (my # 1 vanilla....that Madagascar Vanilla quality is amazing) and Mercedes Benz Club Black (got put on to that one from Ross/TLTG Reviews).

Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDP is beautiful 👌🏾 you get the sweetness from the cherry, the gourmandish vibe with the Almond. A bit of the rose 🌹. Definitely unique but a lady killer. Women love the smell of this!! Fellas definitely get you a bottle or decant. Beautiful juice.

☆Mmmm, love the Vanilla in Babycat♡ I only have a 10ml decant, cause a full bottle is way overpriced for my bank account...my niece made me laugh when she said it smells like new car smell-lol! My go to is still MFK'S Gran Soire, Kerosene's Unknown Pleasures, or Imaginary Authors' Memoirs of a Trespasser, has a cool scent like eating a vanilla soft serve at a concrete floor construction site. We need more videos like this. At this point whenever I see a fragrance with vanilla I automatically assume it smells like vanilla ice cream which makes me not even want to try it. I'm burnt out on the desert smelling vanilla fragrances.

Vanilla vibes hands down is one of the best vanilla frags out there...and it's a beast monster...so dont put much on fellas. This truly is an example of a little going a loooooooong way, This stuff can literally last weeks on your jackets and sweaters if not washed right away. Its that powerful and GOOD

Hey Justin, great video once again :) just a quick note regarding "Rouge Smoking". Smoking translates to a "tuxedo" therefore the perfume's called "Red Tuxedo", hence why there's no smoke-ish note in it. ;) Keep it up!

As someone mentioned, Rouge Smoking probably refers to clothing. We use "smoking" in French to refer to a tuxedo (or any black tie jacket in general), as the tuxedo was originally conceived as a smoking jacket before becoming standard dinner fare.

I wish Initio hadn’t changed the alcohol vol% they have added more alcohol and diluted the fragrance oil which I assume is to cut costs. It used to be 76-77% and now it’s 80% and it doesn’t smell the same.

I have one addition to make to my previous comment: Meanwhile I got "Vanille Tonka" by Parfums de Nicolai - and I´m enthusiastic about it: The simple name doesn´t reveal what a great fragrance that is: not creamy-gourmand but well balanced with olibanum, citrus and basil (the secret star in the composition) - round, spicy, comforting, of high quality - simply love it!

Great vid…always great to hear your take and soothing voice. Hmm I adore vanilla but my skin just steals its sweetness. It’s one note my skin has issues projecting which breaks my heart. So I need vanilla with interest to make the note stick around. Usually a heavy ambery/resiny mix which is made lighter and spicier by my skin chemistry. As a woman I’m keen to try the Allure Edition Blanche…see if it’s too masculine and the Vertus looks right up my alley too. Rouge smoking is lovely and lasts so well. Ani is one I reach for in the cold. I’ve ordered Babycat which I’m looking forward to after testing. TF Vanille Fatale is a dark, resiny, woody beauty. Encens Sauve by Matiere Premiere is stunning - Pillowy yet spicy in a similar vein Magnificent Gold by YSL. Le Lion is my winter beast - my decant should hold me (it’s autumn here). Material and Boundless are gorgeous spice bombs. For summer I love Lalique Lalique for a fresh yet present green vanilla and my favourite of them all Angelique Noire ❤️

To my nose, Side effect is much more cinnamon & tobacco. I would suggest YSL Wild Leather a beautiful woody leather that drys down to a smooth vanilla. Babycat can be overhyped but I really like it. Very incensy vanilla, far away from the sugary vanillas I dislike.

Very interesting video. I'm a fan of vanilla in desserts not in perfumes, I guess smelling edible is not too pleasant to me. This is one of the reasons I'm not a big fan of most Valentino perfumes. Having said this, when not overpowering I do like it. For example I love Allur E.B., went through bottles of it in the past. As for l'homme ideal, I prefer the intense because the vanilla is the least strong. I smelled Spiritual and it struck me as too feminine. Material and Vanilla Oud sounds very interesting.

And as far as Chanel Allure Edition Blanche, I would like to smell that as well. Tobacco Vanille..I remember smelling that for the first time. I couldn’t figure out what it reminded me of. I've tried Vanilla Vibes, and it is pretty good, however, I have found that Armani Prive Bleu Turquoise is similar but with better projection and longevity off my skin. Then again it BT is $300 for 100ml and you can find VV for less than $100.

Ive always been interested in Material given your reviews but still scared of the ambery side which i also avoid as well as gourmand so i dont know which way to lean towards. I do like the sound of Vanilla Vibes being good for summer since i live in a country thats close to the equator but also torn coz Uden seems like your typical Freshie thats not basic and rum and coffee with citruses are always a welcome sight. I do already have a Vanilla centric scent which also happens to touch on Aventus which is Electimuss Imperium. So yeah ill ponder on those 3 first. Thanks JC and great list as always

I love lolita lempicka green lover. It has just the right amount of vanilla for me and also Nishane Ani which is a beast, of which I made the mistake of over spraying and I just about cleared out my workplace. It also stays on clothing for days. Great smell though.

So when I first started collecting I’d buy all the scents that smelled good. The bangers as we call them. Many have or had vanilla in them. Is I’ve gone forward in this hobby I’ve actually gotten away from most vanilla frags despite liking many. For me it’s not generally what I want to smell like. I have kept and still use Diptyque Eau duelle EDp it’s very dry and woody and though can be perceived as more feminine I find it works well for men I also love lesindomedables vanille havane which gets compared to Tom ford tobacco vanille. I also wear and love Loccitain Eau des bavx. And one other that you may find interesting Justin would be Nishane Ambra Calabria. A vanilla that starts out with bergamot and green notes reminiscent of Cerjoff nio imo and eventually transitions into a light vanilla amber scent. I think it’s definitely not for beginners as the green leafy opening is so opposite of the vanilla dry down. I like wearing it in early spring when it’s sunny but still not quite warm. The green notes pick up the sunshine while the vanilla lends itself to the more moderate early spring weather give it a try.

The newer packaging of Guerlain l'omme ideal EDP smells smoky, incensey and less vanilla and less cherry. My oldest bottle batch smells awesome , old packaging. My 2021 bottle smells darker , less cherry , old packaging. My 2022 bottle, new packaging, more smoke, more incense, less cherry, less vanilla.

Hi Justin, I've noticed my Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme has a vanilla smell, but then I didn't see vanilla in the breakdown. Figured out it was the Tonka Bean. Does Tonka Bean actually smell like Vanilla? A few people online say it is. You're a pro, all I can do is ask to learn more about this kinda stuff. By the way, Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme is really basic 🤢🤮, so overrated; I fell for the hype years ago.
