For us older guy's who grew up in the 70's, being told to eat lot's of animal protein, it's great to hear and learn that plant based, predominantly fruit is adequate and healthier, especially for us older guy's who want to retain our muscle mass. Thank you kindly for the video. Keep up the great work. Keep them coming. Blessings,
@Officialmonicajohnson I train every Monday. Only 4 sets. 4 exercises after a warm up set for on each. My workout today was Palms up pulldowns 6 to 10 reps to failure. I got 12 reps today so will up the weight next time Dip machine dips. 6 to 10 reps to failure I got 11. So will stay at the same weight until I get 12. Barbell squats 12 to 18 reps to failure in a power rack. I got 16 reps. So I stay the same until I get 20. Çalf raises 12 to 20 reps to failure. I got 22 reps so will up the weight next workout. Everyother week. I will change out the dips for incline dumbell press. And the pulldowns for standing barbell curls. Simple but very effective. And I nearly always get an extra rep the next workout. I have seen tremendous progress in the 9 months I've been doing this routine. My barbell curl started with 70lbs for 8 reps 9 months ago. And now im at 100lbs for 7 reps. Mentzer said if you respect the recovery process. You would be rewarded with regular progress. And he was right. I remember my overtraining days. When I would be stuck at a given weight and number of reps for WEEKS.
Finally a raw vegan man who has muscles and isnt effeminate or a hippie. Wanting to follow your path man! Any tips for people wanting to go raw? Dangers?
@@silentcal275 its no necessary but heavily recommended as it optimises the working of your body and gets rid of toxic build up. There are many ways to detox the body and it doesnt have to be "painful" it can be done over years or even months. Just do some research and decide what works best for you.
13 years vegan. turn 40 next month and don't look it but am planning to kick it up a notch with going High Raw. Starting tomorrow with a 25 Day Raw Vegan cleanse. I appreciate this video and your content man! Subscribed!
I love fruit and I eat so much of it. But I do eat a variety of legumes and vegetables too. Grains nuts and seeds, herbs and spices too. But looots of fruit
Thank you so much for what you do! I appreciate you and your channel so much. This is the information that I need and have been searching for. I am a new subscriber and I'm so glad I came across your channel. Thank you for all that you do 🙏🏾
@@TribeByNoire The example you gave of carb consumption from fruit such as 6 bananas and so and so on is something I can agree with but then again isn’t that too much sugar???
Been watching a lot of people on fat loss and muscle building. Im 10 years vegan. Went raw for 2 weeks and loved it. Want to get back there. Do you eat after 6pm? Love your vibe. Subscribed❤
Many blessings my brothers 🙏🏾 thank you for the knowledge. Im over 40 and have been on a horrible diet most of my life, and the creator guided me to your channel. Do you do personalized plans for people? If so, im interested.
I’ve been a vegan almost raw for the animals, earth and my health for over 10 years. One thing I’ve found as my hormones have dropped as I’m almost 60, is that because I’ve lost muscle and bone density (we lose a pound of muscle every year starting at 35), I do need more protein. So, I add pea protein to my smoothies. ☮️🌱
A big mistake a lot of raw vegans make is that they don't eat enough and they don't train. People seem to do better on a high raw diet eating a few cooked meals per week, or 1 cooked meal per day.
looking to change my diet around i been fasting these past couple days trying to figure out how i can gain muscle without having to eat processed foods this video came right on time thank you for this video bro
Did you build your physique being raw vegan, or did you eat animal products at first...then switched to being raw vegan? I'm only asking because people get false hope from people who didn't start out being vegan.
That doesn't make any difference. If he did build his physique on a non vegan diet and is able to maintain it, then by extension he couldve built it on a vegan diet.
Great Video. You explain it so well and your body is a testiment to your input and advice for the right foods to consume to build Muscle on a Raw Vegan diet. Thank you so much.
Oh man you did have to torture me by showing mangos. My favorite but so very expensive and most times they aren’t even very good and they grow here. One of several reasons I wan5 to move to the Caribbean.❤️💛💚🥭
What spiritual or religion do you practice or meditation exercise do you practice. Thanks for sharing your journey. What's a good recipe for blended whole juice and smoothie's do you recommend. I'm 71 trying to keep from losing strength in my legs. Help for elderly people much appreciated.
Hey Brother, this was a great video. Especially on the part about how many carbs the body can take on provided the fat is low. Do you eat any starch ? I have been structuring my diet, mostly on fruits with a small amount of grain and potatoes, but thinking about ditching them to see how I feel without. my understanding is fruit does not get stored as muscle glycogen, only as liver glycogen. But the glucose molecule would be stored intramuscularly with water right ??? I have a lot of mental programming to let go of especially the meat/protein brainwashing.
I’m 130lbs 5’11 and have been trying to do this diet but I’m obviously not eating enough. Is the 6 Bannas 4lbs of grapes and 3lb melon enough for me to gain weight and muscle at the same time? I assume so
Diversify your diet! Your gut will thank you long term. Monomeals can are not ideal for maintaining a robust microbiome able to stave off sickness. Use cronometer to get an idea of what your truly consuming
i recall reading that 1 pound of muscle is only around 100g of lean tissue, ie protein, and the rest is water and carbohydrate. mainstream fitness advice tells bodybuilders to ear 1 g of protein per pound of bodyweight, so a 150 pound guy would eat 150g of protein per day. it is also accepted by mainstream fitness that as a rule, one can only build a pound of muscle per month without the use of steroids, provided nutrition, sleep, progressive overload is on point. that does not math with me because if that 150 pound dude eats 150g of protein PER DAY, that is 4,500g of protein per month! if a pound of muscle is only 100g, where is the other 4,400g going? not for muscle building. probably being converted to ketones or whatever that alone should get people to scratch their heads about the insane amounts of protein the fitness and supplement industry want people to consume
Excellent vidéo I loved it, so clear! How about women Is it the same? And if your macros are richer in glucose? And fat and protein is lower? Is that a problem?
Men generally have to eat more and do well eating a bit more fat. Both men and women should be training to gain muscle over the years. Food intake should increase in proportion to activity level and lean mass.
First off… I LOVE this channel. Okay, so fruits, oats, and basmati rice are the main muscle-builders. Are there any powder supplements or other such things on the market that can help, and which contain the proper carbohydrates? For those who are “on-the-go” all the time.
You are so dam hot it doesn’t even make sense😂. I’ve been vegan for 8 years and now I’m 90% raw, after really watching your videos last year. Thank you 😊
I’ve been following Plantiful Kiki for a while now and she also eats high raw. I’m starting to realize that carbs are the answer, not protein. I’m just a bit scared though being type 2 Diabetic. Any guidance for that? How do you eat plant based when you’re diabetic?
Thanks for the video. Is it true that you need at least 1 gr. of protein per pound of bodyweight to be able to build muscle? WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE? How many gr of protein do you ingest per day on average? Do you use protein powders?
I have a question? Is being a raw vegan safe? How to make sure you are getting all your vitamins? I remember a lady not too long ago died because she only ate fruits for a whole year and in the video she did not look well.
If you want to follow the raw vegan diet, you'd have to supplement with vitamins and minerals. You could get a lot of what you need from just food alone but certain nutrients would be difficult such as B12 and D as well as Iron.
So say I live on a fruit based diet and I am at my ideal weight but I want to become lean without losing any more wait as such would this be where I start focusing on increasing my muscle mass as a female? And I don't want to gain anyway so would I keep my calories where they are and just focus on building or would I have to increase my calories thank you so much
I'd be curious to hear your take on optimal resistance training volume, frequency and weekly minutes spent training. There have been meta studies suggesting a J-shaped association between the amount of resistance training and risk of all cause mortality and other diseases, where the most benefits are reached at just around 60 minutes per week. How do you reconcile this?
I talked about it a bit on the last livestream, but a few are mango, papapaya, pineapple, grapes, kiwis, berries, cantaloupe, watermelon, and avocado. Fermented foods like coconut yogurt are good to have also.
@@TribeByNoireit’s so hard to eat those things cause I live in Hawaii and foods are very expensive here and organic is always more expensive. If you could see the cost of melons. And lately when I do get watermelons they’ve not been good. And as far as papayas go the majority here are GMO. There are these larger ones that supposedly are GMO free but cause they are large they are more expensive. I’ll buy them occasionally but unfortunately can’t eat them on a daily. 😢. I do eat coconut yogurt almost every morning. Would be so nice to own my own property and grow fruits .
But I thought if you if you don’t use your carbohydrates as fuel they will just be stored as fat and keep your blood sugar elevated unless you have some healthy fats with them
sir, why do they say you need large amounts of protein to build muscle? and so do people take so much protein in their diet plus protein shakes. What's your take?
Yeah amino acids come in all fruits. It doesn't hurt to diversify and add things like sprouted lentils, nuts, seeds, and pea protein powder. You don't need a lot of protein though.
Lot of incorrect information early in this. Carbs are important, but don't build muscle. And the ratio of mucle tissue to glycogen has nothing to do with meal macros. 60 percent carbs will lead to weight gain and higher insulin, but not necessarily muscle growth. I do agree it's possible to be strong on a vegan eating plan, but not like this.
Carbs literally help to build muscle by hydrating the cells and providing the energy needed to sustain the respiration process and duplication of the cells. Macros are directly correlated to glycogen storage, because the glycogen needed to sustain and grow the muscle comes from food, which is comprised of those 3 macros. 60% carbs has been scientifically demonstrated to improve insulin sensitivity. Higher insulin sensitivity leads to lower serum insulin levels. This has been proven diabetes reversal studies. More insulin sensitivity leads to more fat loss, and greater glucose uptake into lean mass. The opposite of what you claimed has been demonstrated in the scientific literature.
I typically do 5 grams per day of monohydrate. It's really good supplement. I'd recommend it for anyone who's training. It's a good supplement for the elderly also.
I watched this for raw Vegan but now you are talking about legumes which are not part of the natural human diet. We had no pots or pans to cook these when we were roaming the plains in our best human health.
The word "natural is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this statement. Also legumes have been a staple in the human, especially plantbased diet for over a million years.
@@TribeByNoire nice that's awesome man. Been on and off, tried it in 2020 but didn't work out. Was eating the wrong things like soy and tofu which doesn't agree with me. But now I'm in 6 months and I think I'll do well
