I tried it with ESR case (one with the kickstand) and the NFC did not work with credit card terminals or for reading new cards into wallets. Mine is an Ultra and it also messes up the s-pen. Wonder if it damages the NFC components. The dashboard mount only charges at about 5 Watts even though they advertise "near official Apple MagSafe speed" (15 W, but then the manual says 10 W max -- hardly near 15 W -- and 5 W even further away.)
in my opinion magsafe is really good because you can change the accessories easily, however a magsafe case is most likely a better option for most people as that allows easy removal of the magnet simply by swapping to a different case edit: i for example have a magsafe case on my s22 and it has worked without issues
I will keep magnets away from my S22 ultra after problems with the S pen from a small magnetic catch. Looking at another demo some magnetic devices on the back of the phone were interfering. The problem will be if the phone itself is magnetised and I will keep my phone well clear of magnets because you never know what long term effects are building up over time. For me it is just far too expensive a device to take even minimal risk for the sake of gadgets.
It's absolutely a temporary effect and there's nothing that will be permanently harmed by the magnetic field. It just interferes with the tracking of the Wacom digitizer as well as the wireless charging of the S-pen (which means the pen could be dead and not usable for air actions if you've had a magnetic accessory installed for a long time). I've had a Magsafe case on my S23 Ultra without any permanent issues, and my Note 20 Ultra before that (for about 1.5 of the 2.5 years I owned it). I always have a magnetic ring attached by default, and just remove it if I need to use the S-pen or the S-pen is dead and needs to charge so it can reconnect for air actions.

The Samsung battle with Iphone comes down to battery life and accessories. Samsung won best phone over Iphone way back on Samsung galaxy S4 and has never lost the King Crown. You never see lines of people out side Iphone store any more. Yes Folks Samsung did that. Apple was once the biggest phone manufacturer in the world. Samsung is now the biggest phone manufacturer in the world Apple Iphone now is number 4.
It does come down to personal preference. I have both phones and comparing every aspect of both ecosystems as a whole there are minimal differences. It does good for publicity to have something to fight against which is why people point out the pros or cons of android or apple features.

I use a cover by Mous that has it integrated into the cover. Cant recommend them enough, nice alternative to Otterbox and also has a numerous accessories too.
I've used this product for my Flip 3 but had to put a film over the mag safe which is attached to the case to stop it coming off...... working like a dream
2:48 actually if you put something like that on your phone tht needs a little pressure to disconnect/remove from phone and you put like that, why don't you just connect a cable? that is way faster and safer. The whole idea of wireless charge is less messing with cables and devices , so you just put your phone and it is charging and then you just take it like from the table , messing with magsafe magnetic staff that is connected to cable is just marketing ...
I agree ESR makes some really cool products. Currently rocking that alignment ring, and as Much as I wanted to use the ESR case with the kickstand on the camera, the alignment (as you noted) would not work. I need up using the magsafe alignment ring on another branded case. It makes my connection to magsafet chargers stronger than any other Samsung case. I do have to ask about the watch face....that was absolutely sick. would you mind sharing where you got it?
Ok first off most magsafe accessories will all render the s pen useless ! Why no mention of that ? Like another viewer commented this was just a sponsored advertisement so you both can profit , meanwhile steering the customers in the wrong direction and selling something that literally cripples the s23ultra spen features .load of crap! The ONLY magsaf3 case on the market right now that uses magnetic shielding in their magsafe case for s23ultra is MAGBAK. PEOPLE DON'T BUY INTO THIS VIDEO !
I tried using the steelie magnetic mount with my note 10. and it caused an area on the screen that my spen wouldn't function on. even on the outside of a case. are there any issues using the spen on S23 ultra? with Magsafe attached?
I have a s23 ultra, just letting all of you know that with most magsafe accessories attached, the S pen becomes useless. I was using a magsafe case and wallet an some extra magsafe accessories and ended up buying a normal case after 2 weeks cause I do use the pen a lot.
how about just using the f*cking cable and charging your phone faster, more efficiently without excessively heating up battery and not having to touch the stupid ring on the back of you phone all the time??
i bought one for my old phone, which worked great. but for my s23 ultra, most big name case companies provide specific ones with those magsafe rings already built in. mine is the clear case ringke, which is great!
This doesn't work on the ultra the accessories mess with S-PEN and your phone will give you warning ⚠️ about the PEN is missing and when you take the pen out the phone has no idea your trying to use the PEN
I have the MagSafe Quad Lock case on my S23 Ultra and the pen works fine with this case. I don't like bulky cases like this even though it isn't too bad but I ride my motorcycle a lot and use my phone for GPS and don't want to lose it or have it fall like my old poor S22 ultra 😢
I had issues with my NFC working for my wallet. My case had a bezel around the lens where part of the msgsafe should be placed, so it had to be lowered slightly. Maybe that was a factor.
i have a different manufacturer magsafe case on my s22 (standard model) and on that the nfc works from the screen side too so for example contactless payment works without issues
no one mentions that anything attached to back of magsafe ring, could interfere with using s-pen at same time. So you have to take off any accessory attached first.

I have an important question: with the ring applied to the outside of the case (Samsung smartview flip case), will it not overheat like standard metal pieces for magnetic holders while wireless charging? Because that is a huge problem I have with my current car holder setup that uses a simple metal plate for the phone. When I put it in between the phone and the charger (Samsung original 15W charger) it overheats in like 10 seconds
This is an old post an not sure if you found the answer elsewhere, but you're likely not to experience that same heat up. The magnet sits around the charger itself as opposed to in between the charger and battery
What were the designers of those cases thinking? They could have made those cases compatible with Mag safe if they really tried. Poor design. Other stuff are cool.
The ESR Halolock 3-in-1 charger described in this video no longer exists just 10 months later. They now have a new version that only supports apple devices and can't be easily modded to support samsung.
I finally grabbed a mous case; a bit pricey but good God the magnets are strong. Easily the most premium case I've owned I generally buy about 3 cases per phone.
LOL! Just BUY a MAG-SAFE case and no more dinking around! You can literally get a MAG-SAFE case for ANY Samsung phone that supports wireless charging like even my lowly S23FE and I LOVE the feature and have a wallet and a few chargers...
I have the halolock on my S23 Ultra and its awesome! The ESR cryo charger is great as well. I have 1 in my Camaro and 1 in my Explorer, never had any issues with them. One thing to note, the cryo version has a fan inside and it's kind of loud if you are driving with the stereo off.
I'm confused by this because Amazon purchasers that have S23 Ultra are claiming it does not work with their phones. So what gives here? Does it or doesn't it work with the Samsung S23 Ultra?
Thank you. My question was immediately answered by the first thing you went into. I just got an S23 (compact enough for me. Why all the phones gotta be gigantic now?) and ordered the ESR rings and the newer version of the ESR car charger that came with a dash mount as well as the vent mount. The ring guide's been updated for the S22s, but not the S23s, so I'm grateful for the info. The ring overlaps the camera lens opening of the case a bit, but it doesn't block the telephoto lens so it's all good to me. I haven't mounted the charger in the car yet, but I've plugged it in and snapped the phone to it. And it is quick wireless charging, so that's all working fine. So far, so good. Now I'm just hoping the dash mount will truly stick to my dash so I won't have to worry about running the heat with the vent mount. Wish me luck with that. lol
I need this but until they make it so I can hide it behind my case, I'll live without it. Accessories stuck all over the case are ugly. Same with case that have accessories included but never fully integrated in a minimalist design. I like my official yellow Samsung silicone case to waste it with a bunch of stuff stuck on it. I already have a kickstand that isn't so nice, I wouldn't add a ring too.
but whenever i stick magnetic thing at the back of the phone, the stylus won't work on the coresponding screen of the area. sometimes the phone wont even detect that the stylus is back in the silo until i remove the magsafe accessories.
As an electrical engineer with a focus on hardware design, I can confirm that cooling the battery while charging it will make a noticeable difference to charge speed. This is because a hot battery won't charge efficiently, and the charge wattage needs to be reduced to prevent overheating the battery and damaging it. When using the fan, my phone also stays cool to the touch through the entire charge cycle 👍
I never fully understand magsafe, does the halolock have magnets or is it just a piece of metal that is used to conect the magnets of the accessories have????? And is there cheap options?
Magsafe certainly isn't as well known in the UK. Most of the magnetic phone holders available here will not fit the magsafe. Personally I wouldn't touch it as you end up getting locked into their products as nothing else works with them.

I had a ring that came with a MagSafe capable portable charger that I got from work (free). I lined it up to my S23 ultra case, using the MagSafe charger and it works fine. I carry that and an iPhone 13, so I like being able to swap between each phone to carry my ESR wallet (I have the one shown in the video). I have no issues with the wallet covering any of the S23 Ultra cameras.
I kinda dont like having all your personal stuff in one easy to loose location...hahah if for whatever reason you loose your cell,thier goes your whole life if you have the wallett combo...it looks cool though
Spigen has the potential to be a good company for cases but it still falls short. Bad design on the cases can't even put on their own magsafe rings on them. LOL Need to make magsafe cases for the s23 ultra. Would never put on their mag ring on the back rather have it on the case think about it SPIGEN? Bigger percentage of people have a case on their phones. Who is going to be taking the case off and on every time to charge????
No, I really don't need any of this..😂 The magnetic ring is just dumb and if you absolutely want that then there are cases with those built in that are a better option. And there are MANY better cases than those... I also recomend to NOT use a lens protector since it will degrade the camera performance a little.
I have a magsafe case, accessories and use a magsafe charger that are all used on my s22 ultra. I have no S pen issues. Six months no issues so...others must have glitches or ive been lucky.
If u use a magnetic popsocket .....yes u will have issues.... I literally couldn't use my Spen....It took me all night researching.....I was convinced it was defective.....until I read on a video...took the popsocket out....and my Spen worked like a charm again
Apple rejected wireless charging for years and, suddenly, they are cool as all they just needed magnetism. I have had phones with and without. My opinion, meh.
So essentially to sum it up it's a cash grab sticker you put on the back of your phone so you can attempt to have magsafe.... for at least as long as the sticker decides to stay on your phone but seeing you have to put it on the inside of a case I'm sure that consistent going in and out of a pocket in and out of a pocket play Stan picked up hell that everything else that sticker is not going to last very long and then I'm just going to have to purchase another sticker

I'm glad to learn this. Just got a new phone this week and had delayed because I liked the idea of Mag Safe and Air Tags with Apple and considered switching for those options. Instead we stuck with Samsung (S23+) so searching Mag Safe versions for it. I like having my license and cards attached to case, so will look into Spigen, as well. Thanks.
Yep, that'll work too. I have a case on with the ring on the back of the case and I can charge on both Samsung's wireless chargers as well as my magsafe chargers 👍
Did you test the ESR wireless car charger with the S23 Ultra? Everyone is complaining on Amazon reviews about the S23 not working with it. Unless I blinked and missed it, I didn't see you actually use the charger with the S23 in the video. I bring this up as I was about to buy one from Amazon and noticed the complaints. ESR even say they have tested it themselves and it does not work with the S23 and is iPhone only.
I use the ohlpro in a semi truck however the mount that game with it is garbage i also bought the lisen mount and cannibalized them using the lisen mount with the ohlpro magsafe charger with the lisen attachment scred and superglued to it.
I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra, a Mouse case, and the new $20 Anker MagGo 15W Magsafe pick, no fan. Why is it only charging my phone at 5 Watts? Is it because there is no fan like the Samsung wireless pad? I've noticed when using the Electron app that the 15 watts doesn't kick in until the fan turns on. Could that be it?
And when attached to the back of my phone, The phone does not say fast wireless charging it just says wireless charging so I'm disappointed in the purchase of the puck
Not having a case on your phone should be a crime. Its more expensive than a laptop, and super important in the modern world. If you put anything else on your phone, like your important cards etc, your a fool. Yes, let's take the most important things you carry around and put ALL of them in the same place, so when you lose one, you've lost EVERYTHING. That's real smart..... I find magsafe is just as weak a connection as any magnetic only holder. The only real way to go is the clamping wireless chargers.
