I love the fact that Mark does not talk when you explain the most important lessons keeping your chain of thought flawless while explaining, he is the perfect student for this, good listener, good humor, he use 4 stroke bike which stalls easier then 2T and most important of all he is short, giving us shorties hope lol.

Such a huge thank you for sharing this knowledge Rich. I had known of the tight and slow figure 8 drills since I was a young rider some 50 - 60 years ago, and how to progress up to going slow. Leaning to ride at less than walking and even stopped with balance and no dab. These added balance drills Eps 1-4 have only further enhanced my skills as a veteran rider of single track and dirt and some road. By the way, these drills carry over to road riding also not just dirt and enduro. When my wife went to get her licence for a scooter last may 2022, the instructors stressed the importance of slow balance and slow speed bike control and had large figure 8s laid out on the ride track ( carpark) . My wife was riding a scooter in under 30 min with a level of confidence not previously held. My wife had never ridden a motorcycle nor scooter and had not ridden a push bike in over 30 years. So many riders have never leant the art of slow riding , It is such a shame. Tuning in From Aus by the way.

3:30min "Beta don´t turn very good". Adjusting the steering locks and putting some dents into the radiators where the forks would hit them then helps a lot. There are some vids here on youtube showing this kind of mod. Helps a lot in tight terrain

here is an idea that I learned as a paradigm when I was a ski instructor. Skiing is nothing more than your balance in motion (sound familiar?). the center of your own balance is the mass that is cradled by your pelvis. when you are riding, imagine that you have a bowling ball sitting in your pelvis. how does moving your 'bowling ball' effect your balance on your footpeg? how does moving your bowling ball effect what your bike does? go back to the lesson on balancing the bike from a standing stop. what you are doing is using the leg standing on the footpeg to lift your bowling ball such the that the bike stays balanced. the leg that was standing on the ground can only follow where your bowling ball goes.

thanks Rich. I must have missed something in the build up: if after the turns you're allowed to go back as you suggested, then it becomes a figure of 8 run and you can fit as many as you want.

More great vids Rich thanks again, I also try to practice your tuition as much as possible 👏🏻 One thing I have to say in this series is …. Why is Mark using a bike that is clearly too tall for him? He would have far more confidence and control if he wasn’t fighting the bike. I often feel the bike is riding him instead of the other way around. He’s a good rider and doing really well but I think his gains would be greater if he had more control/confidence in the bike. Just my thoughts !
