Frequently when my brain says “attack it”, “drive it”, etc, the ball goes long or into the net. Ug! Drives me crazy. So I hit softer and then the opponent takes advantage of my weak return. Gotta figure out how to accurately place the ball with some better pace…

Yes Ryan love it. Agree my first shot is not as hard as the ones you show, but will be definitely be more conscious of this, also your advice about waving to the opponent and also when you are closer to the net have a lower air target. These have really helped, massive thanks Ryan. Best tenois coach there is on the Tube!

Thanks for the refresher, Ryan! Sometimes, I hit balls down the middle after my serve, directly in front of my opponent's feet. But this is probably a higher risk to take than going for the corners in the +1 right away.

Serve. Weak Return. Blast down the middle and come in to the net. This way you take away any passing shot angles.

Serve + one is not a viable strategy for an ordinary recreational player! It's more suited for elite-level recreational players. Let me explain why. To use this strategy successfully, one must possess a high-level forehand-when the pace of your forehand can't be countered by your opponent's legs. 80% of recreational players don't have a shot like this. Their pace is almost always matched by their opponent's legs. Even short approach or transition balls can usually be run down by an opponent with fast legs, let alone balls from the baseline.

As mentioned in the video, we can’t hit as hard as the pros, so we follow it up and attack the volley. Viewers can either choose to follow the info in this video or not. But, those who choose to follow this advice will win more points. It’s really quite simple.

I think he said the opponent was gonna get a racquet on it and then you’ll have an opportunity for a put away volley. Also most recreational players get gassed so this becomes more effective the longer the match goes on.

Correct. I never said your second shot needs to be an outright winner. I said you need to be aggressive and take advantage of weak returns. Hit to the corner and move forward and attack. Not sure how people can argue with this mentality.
