Session is the best in my opinion for anyone who actually skateboards. Yeah it's difficult, it's supposed to be. That's what makes it rewarding for me at least.
I've been skateboarding for over 20 years and Im sorry but session is nothing like skating in real life, Maybe if your a beginner .I dropped a like on your rollerblading video by the way 😉
@@magicwood2360 - I've been skateboarding my whole life and only just got back on rollerblades last August after not doing it since 1999. Nothing wrong with doing both. And I don't think session is comparable to real skateboarding, nothing is. It's still the best for people who actually skateboard in my opinion, it's difficult and takes time to figure out and get tricks right, which I think is far superior to any other skate game ever.
@@nephimcknight5832 and tell me why does xl need to spline stuff to be grindable and how come session doesn’t need to install mods to be goood 🤣🤣🤣🤣how pathetic you need to install all the things session has in there base game 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣how sad 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
On the building diy. When you get creature park unlocked there's a lot of items in there to move around and basically make your own indoor skatepark. Been having a lot of fun with this and doing different layouts. Just thought I'd shoot this out there in case people didn't consider this.
One tip some may still not know about is that you can access the advanced gameplay / stats menu directly by holding down the start button while in-game. It's a lot easier faster to tweak stuff on the fly than going through the menus the long way to get to it.
I’ve been having so much fun learning tricks and getting frustrated lol just like real skating! I’m at the banks competition where I gotta do tricks on the rails and it’s pretty tough
If you're coming from XL, you will have to learn how to play Session (unless you play with the same controls, if that option is still available). I have been playing XL since the launch on PS4 and I still have a soft spot for that game, but after a few hours on session I can clearly see that I've become better at it. I was using Garrett's stats, which has higher gravity and I couldn't Ollie or flip over anything, but now I'm already working on my fakie and switch feebles and Smiths... just keep practicing and search for videos like this one and you're bound to get better!
One little speed glitch I flound, push mongo then with your front foot right after, if you repeat it with the right timing you’ll be flying So mongo push regular push back and fourth
@@charlesgeorge8613 I've been looking at my own clips for a moment now trying to find what you're talking about and I just can't see it man. It shouldn't affect the skater's feet in any way. This is definitely a glitch that's either extremely uncommon or completely unique to you, you might wanna report that to the devs
The hardest part about the game for me is I’ve never skated or watched skate vids like 90% of the audience seems to have. So I don’t have as much creativity as the rest so I get bored easily. All in all it’s still fun to have a skate sim again
I had this problem too tbh as I'd only watched competitions before. Started watching more to be more creative ... And even started skating this year ( I owned game preview)
I just completed a yt playlist featuring my favorite session players, and I'll be including it under all my videos 😎. You are a part of it. Just wanted to let you know 🙏 Thanks bro 😆🤘🛹🎮🔥
I’ve been playing for 7 days and seem to know more than most already, haha that’s what you get when you’ve wanted a game like this for years and xl just don’t scratch the itch
I totally agree - this game needs lot of practise to start to enjoy it. First I tried the demo and I was put away from it. After a while I've tried again and bought full version. But then again - I was a bit frustrated and stoped playing. One day I got notification about an update, started playing and men, it's has been a journey. Funny story, because I've been playing for a while now and just recently discovered that there are other cities in the game ;)
The tip with messing around with the settings was good. Session felt some kind of clumsy and sluggish for me, but when i pull the gravity a little down and the pop a little up it feels more like i image it must feel. Thanks
Another big one I never see anyone talk about, so as we know if u want to pop out a certain side u need to let off mid grind and and re apply pressure on a side but actually if u do that to lock in the grind it will do the same thing, for example I’m going for a back 50 but I know I want to pop out right side prior to the Ollie when I lock in the grind I put my back foot down to the bottom right corner to lock in the grind when I pop out I will pop out right, other then doing it mid grind hope that helps someone
Man I thought skate was like the best skate game when it came out. I wasn't sure how you would make a more realistic game. This game is just incredible I feel like I'm actually learning again you know. I love skating but don't get to often this is next best thing.
I played with some advanced settings and now I can do dark slides, primos and caspers. Also can you please do a tutorial on how to do a pro video on session? Like how you did with some of the replays?
All very useful and goods, but specifically the disabling of the double tap for reverse, playing on a switch make Session really hard to play with that option on as the triggers are not pressure sensitive, so that your are basically always double taping to get the direction or rotation right, thank you very much for these.
At first it was hard and I wasn't sure about it but as soon as I landed my first trick I was hooked absolutely addicted to this game thank you this vid was very helpful
Glad to hear that! A lot of people that are brand new to the game will say “it’s awful” or they don’t like it. And then they put some time in and learn how to play and then they really enjoy it. Then they learn how to use the replay editor really well and they LOVE the game.
WHAAAAA!? A program that markets itself as a skate SIM isn't as easy as "Tony hawk" or "Skate" to play!? Its like they made something for ppl that ACTUALLY skate... what a concept
I bounce back and forth between this and XL...I can't choose which one I like better. I just wish I didn't have to deal with mods when it comes to XL. idk..Once Session brings grabs back, I think that'll be my go-to...but for now, I bounce back and forth
Liked and subbed. Really great info for a newb. It truly does have a steep curve but f--k!, is it rewarding. Trying a trick over and over is super fun and addictive. And funny...the ragdoll physics are hilarious. Thanks for the tips
Got good after 2 weeks normal i get pretty good a games already after a couple of days,, not session, but now im great at it, i really enjoy it now, people its take time, but then you will enjoy it 😊
I've been playing session longer than skater xl and this is just my opinion but skater xl has significantly more flow in multiple areas of gameplay . Skater xl just is Missing an extreme amount of love and progression, it's a shame they have let the game go stagnant. All that being said they are both very enjoyable skate games 🤙
@@MasonStorme_ Yes but it also is not stagnant, you just have to wait for ever. I really like the new vert trick possibilities, but my god, the stats menu is still not there. Until that, I only play XL to get my vert clips
I finshed all my mission but the other gears are still locked like the adidas and dc shoes grizzly grip tape all of them are till locked can someone answer me
You gotta remember they had 2 guys design the maps for session. Not a full team of 20 people that have been doing it for years. Session was made by 5 dudes that wanted a new skate game.
Id say my only gripe with session as well as sxl is the fact that i cant have a hair when i wanna wear a hat or have a backwards hat ik on xl i have it with the use of mods but i feel like this could be a somewhat easy feature on a vanilla game but i have ZERO knowledge on developing a game so maybe im just picky buuut….im js
quick question, i bought a deck and equipted it then after i bit i changed the grip then it changed back to the starter deck but when i browse over decks it says in thr corner that i have 1/5 of that deck bit idk how to use it pls help im on ps4
not sure if anyone else is getting this but all the clothing is locked. I have done all the main and side stuff and still its all locked away even skateboards the only thing i can get is the stuff the awarded to me through the missions. not sure if someone got a solution to this but its quite frustrating
Hey I'm new. I see some people hare recommended settings to make the game better, easier or whatever. Do you recommend I change my settings or learn the way they are on default?
Tough to say really. Everyone plays a bit different. I turn off double tap reverts for sure. Then mess with your board flip and scoop speed. Takes a minute before anything feels comfortable for sure.
Push the two sticks away from each other or against each other. Ex: left stick to the left and right stick to the right. Or left stick to the right and right stick to the left. Depending on which way you wanna powerslide. Frontside or backside.
Please help me, i absolutely love playing session and the new update is awesome but i got a bug that makes session unplayable. Whenever i go back to my marker or get on my board my character will spawn sideways on the board and bail. Im not able to ride around no matter what. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the game but nothing changed. Do you know a solution for this?
I could guess that maybe you have character animations on. I believe it’s in the experimental options in the menu. In the beta when you had that on and you would respond, your skater would be all over the place for a second. I would try turning that off. Or if it is off. Try turning it on? Just a guess tho.
What’s sad is that SO MANY people will just forget this game when Skate 4 releases because it’s a game made for kids to access… My 5 year old is better than me at Skate 3, but 30 seconds of SESSION and he’s complaining(AS DO MY ADULT FRIENDS).
I’m all about skate sims. This game is not holding up though. On ps5 there is no 120fps mode. Huge let down since it claims to have it. The performance is a huge let down and I’m so sick of waiting for patches to bring games up to standard. Constant screen tearing, glitches - eventually I can’t Ollie anymore. Have to reboot the game.
You can lock it at 60fps or up it to 120fps. Just go to settings, gameplay, and switch it. And honestly you’re one of the first people I’ve seen talking about screen tearing, glitches, etc. even people playing in the original Xbox one haven’t said much.
I have a tv that displays the current frames being produced. It maxes at 60fps both modes. Getting a lot of screen tearing on the PS5 app, VRR helps though. Still, I want that 120 fps mode cause as of update 1.05 it’s still not working. Less input lag, the better. Especially with this game.
Definitely mate. I put in lots of hours before I got any good at it. People need to put in the time and effort and they will find session if f#%@n great.
Depends on how good your pc is. But I would always say pc for most games. On pc you can download a ton of other maps, you can scale up the graphics even more. You can do a lot more. But I play this on Xbox 90% of the time. Even tho I have it on pc.
@@MasonStorme_ thanks for the input, I have both aswell and I just bought it for Xbox for now and I love it so far, you think the other maps are worth it to get it on PC just for mods? Obvi cuz it’s another 60 dollars
Everybody is trashing this game for all the wrong reasons. IGN gave it a 6/10!!! If you watch the review everything he complains about is complete BS. A few glitches happened while he had some of the experimental options turned on and they really considered that for their rating lmao.
This is just my opinion/view. EA controls are superior, the feeling of moving the left control stick is so soothing just cruising around the map much like real life, Turning on a skateboard isn't that hard and shouldn't be as painful as Session makes it out to be. The right joystick is more than enough for the feeling and satisfaction for flip tricks. Session controls are over kill and I don't feel like taping left/right triggers feel like I'm cruising on down the street as my bushings turn my trucks. Best way I can explain is Sessions controls feel like I'm driving in wet conditions with lots of traffic I got to be alert and that takes the enjoyment out of it, ( left trigger tap tap right trigger tap tap then left joy stick the right then back .... come on, talk about stressful. Compared to EA controls it feels like when I drive my care on a calm road and weather conditions are perfect and I can enjoy the drive and gaze for spots as I drive. Apart from the controls, Sessions is a great game the graphics and level design are awesome. But I have been Playing EA Skate 1 since the release in 2007.
All those settings you can ply through. Yea it's cool. But I don't wanna sit there spend 2 weeks of figuring out what settings works best. Bullshit. Bring back skate.
@@lockmanni1619 it takes a good 20 minutes to figure out some decent settings. Game is on a really good path for a skate sim. Ea skate is coming back. But it’s still gonna be a very arcade like game. Just like the old Ea skate games
So many people that say session isn’t fun just aren’t good at it yet. I’ve had so many people complain about the game. And then a week later say they love it now that they’re good at it. But still, every game isn’t meant for everyone to enjoy. Some people love call of duty. Other people hate it. That’s how it goes.
...... I'm not good in Riders Republic and raiders Republic is still a good game just like dayz ore any other good game. It is fun to play them... but session is a pain in the a** it's not working Good the grinds often not work you have no grap system (in a Skater game) the quest system is horrible the sound is trash the animations are not good... Over all it's not a good game !!! Maybe if you're spend 200 hours in the game ok..... but people don't want to spend 200 hours in a trash game just to get good at it !!!!!
@@kannibaleinzivil1182 it takes like 5 or 6 hours to get pretty decent at Session. The grinds work just fine. The animations are on point to real skateboarding. Maybe you need to mess with you stats and advanced settings to make the game look better cause I get some solid looking clips all the time.
@@MasonStorme_ i don't say your can't get good lines I say the game is trash. In 2014 it would be a good game but it is 2024 and it's like a alpha version..... + There want 50 bucks for it xD and you don't even have Grabs xD wtf I skate in Reallife and Grabs are a manger thin in skateboarding. The hard flips lock so ugly the skater looks like a statue 🗽 and when your turn on the skater physics you often just fall down when skating in a straight line..... For 20 bucks I would not say sh*t but for 50 It's a ripoff
