The best thing is the cast choice, they didn't simply resort to "standard" or popular picks, but they went with less popular Pokèmons that could make interesting fighters, such as Great Tusks or Toxicroak
True, and I love the reason it's like this too. The cast they select from is fixed this way because they're only using actual Fighting type Pokémon while ALSO straying from popular picks. The focus on fighting types limits their options plenty yet (apart from Blaziken) they've mostly kept "obvious" choices out of the equation (like Lucario).
It's got Blaziken and that's probably the only pick people would be able to guess without any knowledge before hand. I love Lucario and infernape but they would have been obvious picks and always get love Toxicroak was a great pick and falinks is so unexpected but it works really well for a puppet master fighter
They should add Smeargle as a boss, it's attacks do little to no damage at all BUT you can select any move from any other Pokemon before the fight. I'm just joking, I just hope the game doesn't get cancelled because Nintendon't doesn't like fangames
Pokken slander aside (which is fine! It’s not everyone’s cup of tea), I’m glad that to see folks are starting to give this game attention! Not a lot of folks consider just how odd and fun you can get with your roster choices when you’re free to dabble and go for odd stuff and the concepts alone deserve to be adored.
Honestly pokken was really unique for an arena fighter And yeah I wished companies stopped making theme and make more fgc oriented games like fighter z And this is also a nice change of pace from Pokémon vgc
I wish Nintendo would just turn fan games like this into official ones, paying the creators of the fan games. The reason why the Pokemon company hates fan-games is not because it prevents people from buying the offical games or because its a competitor, its because people using the pokemon brand and pokemon characters lowers Nintendo's ownership of the pokemon company. If enough people used it than Pokemon will become public domain and of course Nintendo can't let that happen, they need to defend there brand. Of course nintendo isn't blame-free from doing this but its more of just. . . Thaaaat's capitalism. Y'know? Taking away a bit of creative freedom from artists to protect the money of companies and prevent competition as much as possible.
