Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets. Download the game files here.

Still find it interesting how Steven(Red dude from the first song) is in the story of strangled red, I mean the poor guy completely loses everything when Miki(his charizard) dies, he basically died along with her, it gives a lot of implications on the kind of relationship they had with how far Steven goes to get her back, he lost everything when he lost her, guess he saw missingno as a last resort, the ideas of what he might have done if he failed, though I guess Miki coming back as a corrupted mesh of code made him go from critical depression to straight up insanity

The second one is based on the creepy Black creepypasta where you basically play as red and catch this pokemon that has the sprites of the ghost in lavender town and you end up using the curse option and it kills both the trainers and their pokemon and after defeating the elite four, a lot of time passes and basically you're playing as old man red and facing the ghost with all the past victims

Though here in this mod Ghost has a new puppet named Carmine, and instead of playing as Red were playing as a Professor. Professor Redwood (keeping in vain of when the professors were named as trees.)

Im pretty sure the song in this has a slightly different story. In the og creepypasta the ghost curses you at the very end. But it seems that this mod made it so red just kept on cursing everyone untill he grew too old after wich the ghost took on a new younger trainer and then god rid of red. Pretty cool still.

The character of the first "cartridge" is named Steven, who shares a lot in common with red, save for his long hair. the grave he's singing to is that of his beloved Charizard, Miki, who died in a trade gone wrong. He then uses the power of the Glitch Pokemon, Missingno, to bring Miki back, which "Corrupts" the data of both him and Miki. The third is based on the "Glitchy Red" Pokepasta, where it SEEMS like a normal copy of Pokemon Red... until it becomes clear that the Red in the game is self-aware, even refferencing games past his, despite being in a generation BEFORE them.

And the blood stain both on Steven's hand and on the floor implies that the whole song takes place after the death of Michael Stoughton. (Yes, both of their name are, canonically, Steven Stoughton and Michael Stoughton)

Hey idk if you already were gonna buy you should definitely play the Halloween mod, it's like REALLY good, and even has a Foolhardy 2023 by rozebud himself, give it a try when you can 👍🏿
