The Unearthed Cut is the full cut with all the gore. Arrow cut is same length but instead of showing the gore, they replaced the gore shots with reaction shots, which is called the director cut for some odd reason. We think New Line made a pg cut of it, called it the directors cut and called it a day. Every release they called it the directors cut but missing some gore but same length. The new scan is from the original negative so it has the gore, I think from the original vhs release. I have not seen the VHS in decades, so I do not know. Hope this helps. Thanks for the review!!! Means the world to us.
Love the guyver. Remember flipping through channels as a kid and seeing the monster designs and knew i had to watch the rest. I remember watching the vhs all the time when i eventually got it. 2nd is great as well. I actually have a screener copy of the 2nd movie that my local blockbuster sold my mom because i would always ask if they had it in. Highly recommended checking out the anime as well. Theres a 12 episodes from the 90s and a full 26 episode series in 2005.
This movie rocked so hard along with the sequel, even more. In third grade, I was telling everyone about it and they thought I was crazy! LoL good times.
Guyver 1 & 2 are Awesome! Loved them since I was a kid. Can’t wait to pick up the new release(here’s hoping pt. 2 gets a sweet release, too)! The anime’s cool, as well.
@@Born2BeRadAlways! Garrett, are you doing an Umbrella Masters of the Universe unboxing video? It turns out it is region free even though it's marked as region B. :-)
I was stationed in Iraq in 2008 and my buddy was like “you like movies, you gotta watch this”. I’m not sure if I really liked it but it was an experience to view it.
I love The Guyver and Guyver 2 so definitely planning on picking this up at some point. Another one I recommend if you haven't seen it is Kung Fu Rascals by the same director Steve Wang which he did in between the Guyver movies. I've had it on VHS for many years under the title "The Adventures of the Kung Fu Rascals". It's currently on Xumo, Tubi, and RU-vid for free. It has some stop motion monsters Harryhausen style and even music by Les Claypool. It's been many years since I watched it so I need to revisit it but I remember it being a ton of fun.
My first introduction was Guyver 2 as well and renting it from Mr. Movies! Not completely sure, but the 88 minute cut might be the one that aired on Sci-Fi channel back in the '90s. Unfortunately can't confirm though as the VHS I taped it on is long gone now.
It's been years since I've seen this one but it's one I hope to get soon but I don't remember a 2nd one but I remember being young and it was probably the only movie I saw Mark Hamill in since Star Wars!! I really wanna revisit this again.
I missed out on the Arrow version so I'm definitely picking this up. It's one of the few Brian Yuzna movies I never got around to seeing, and I'll watch pretty much anything connected to people from Re-Animator or From Beyond. As a kid I never liked Power Rangers because I preferred BeetleBorgs, which was like the B movie version of Power Rangers with horror elements, including a character that was a Canadian rip off of Beetlejuice lol. The Guyver always reminded me of that show. I'm pretty sure it was from the same company that produced Power Rangers.
Also it's alright the film, because Jimmie walker has been performance his character really annoying. I really enjoyed it maybe sometimes, i got it on 4k blu ray from this week, I just saw it unrated version it is really great version they use from vhs new line cinema home video back day.
