I ended up giving them back to lure him into a false sense of security. Then I went and stole his golden statue and put it in Marnie's room so she could actually have a version of Lewis that's committed.
I liked Lewis… at first. Now I’ve seen him *raging* at Sam for skating, hiding his relationship with Marnie and not asking her to dance. The gold statue, while Possibly not super expensive for him to create, is still concerning. He doesn’t go mining, so he must be getting gold from villagers. He goes to Clint’s a Lot to collect the business tax, and I think he does the same at other businesses. While Joja is in town, we know these small businesses struggle. So Lewis (weekly, if not more often), collecting enough gold to have created this? That’s kinda dark. He yells at people a lot, very easily angered. He may not be the most evil person in the world, but he does seem to be at least slightly corrupt.
Another thing you can do is wear the Trimmed version while Lewis is visiting Marnie. He'll be mortified but Marnie will giggle. And she'll giggle whenever you try to interact with her while wearing the Trimmed Version of the Shorts. Also, if you place a Staircase into your Pants Slot you'd get a pair of Trimmed Lucky Purple Shorts.
marnie also has a unique reaction during the fair i forgot the exact dialogue but its something like “hey i loved those red cabbages you put on display. they almost looked like lew- uh nothing!”
If I could I’d put it in the soup, however I need them to embarrass him for all of eternity. This video gives me the solution to both of my problems Now I just gotta wait for the update to hit the switch 😅
I think you get them back if you put them into the soup? I haven't done it myself yet but saw a youtuber (gab smolders) do it and she even used them later at the fair! Or did i understood your comment wrong? Sorry if that was the case! I'm also waiting 1.6 to come to switch! 😊
If you put a staircase in your pants slot you get the trimmed version, you can do this however many times you'd like so you can have an entire collection of Lewis' shorts for whatever purpose you'd like :)
I think he takes them back. If youre playing in 1.6, you can use a staircase in his home to get another pair. Be careful though, you cant hit any enemies that may spawn

Lewis did NOTHING wrong. Gold is actually incredibly common in Stardew Valley. One Gold Bar is actually worth less money (250g) than the lowest quality pumpkins (320g). His giant golden statue probably cost him less than the 2nd backpack upgrade from Pierre.
1. Gold is really hard to get for people who don't go mining (literally everyone in town) and Clint is *WAY* overpriced 2. He also keeps his relationship with Marnie a secret, even though she doesn't like that 3. He left the community center to be restored by the new farmer
@@SuburbanHellit’s new but you used to be able to place a staircase on either your head or pants equipment slot (I forget which.) and get the pants that way
Most likely the length of the short, but I feel like the "shorts in the luau soup" trick is pretty well known at this point. Plus, it's not necessarily on display since it sinks into the soup and the governor eats part of it.
I haven't done it myself, but other commenters said you can use stairs in his house (like you would in the mines) to get into his basement & get a bunch of them?
The adventurer guy having a but of a crush on marnie is so sweet cause i am sure the dynamic would be DO much healthier without a man like lewis involved.
The thing is, i saw a lot of videos showing if u put a stair case on as pants it will show the Lucky purple shorts, but i think the 1.6 update took it out :(
You can get multiple! With 1.6 (only on pc right now) you can bring a staircase into mayor Lewis’s home & “use” it in his bedroom, bringing you to a maze where you’ll be able to go to as many times as you like to collect the shorts. (I have a video from a bit ago going into detail of this if you’re interested.) For those without 1.6 (console & mobile) you’ll be able to use a staircase & place it into your pants slot as many times as you like & they will be changed into the shorts. Hope that helps!
Ok... Can people please stop, taking this old man's underwear, aka his most !PRIVATE possession!, as a collectable or to bully him? I get it, he's a not so good mayor but this has gone too far! How would you feel if someone does that to a woman or a person from 'another' age group? You would feel uncompfortable, right? So why do this to an old man? Bad mayor or not, no one deserves this. What is wrong with people? And putting it in the soup? Kids eat that soup! That's sick! He has entrusted the player with his most private matter and this is how they treat it... I know, this is only a video game, but it REALLY makes me question the moral compass of these kind of people, that do this, since they dont feel like its perverted or sick whatsoever when doing this disgusting stuff.
Genuine question: is this copypasta? (in case it's not - don't forget that he not just a bad mayor but also corrupt one with a gold statue when 100 grams are woth A LOT and he's done Marnie dirty by hiding in the corners instead of acting like a decent person, and shirts are like the only way players can get their frustration of him out)
