Google:- "In Scottish folklore, a kelpie is a dangerous shape-shifting water creature that can appear on land as a horse. The kelpie appears to their human victims as a grey or white horse, entices them to ride on their back, then carries them down to a watery grave." 😵💫 Hope you were feeling OK in this video Eddy ... you sounded a little horse ... err hoarse ...😁
Check out St Andrews Eddy, and try out the Landyachting. You sit in a buggy on the beach and use the wind to get some speed up and drive along the beach.
U picked a good day for it ! Love coming down here with my kids .. them on scooters me on rollerblades 😂 side note my pal was DJing down there a few weeks ago 😄
Eddy, I’m ashamed to say I live 2 minutes away from the Kelpies and never actually visited the Helix park . I passed them twice a day going and coming home from work every day on the motorway. They look stunning lit up at night in the dark . There are a lot of visitor attractions with the Falkirk wheel, Callander Park with Callander house which takes you back in time. Nearby Linlithgow has a palace ( ruin ) and a loch to walk round . Blackness castle is another nice place still in the local area . Think you’ve seen as much os Scotland 🏴 as me 😂😂 great video as always 👍
The Kelpies are bittersweet for me. My friend Steven took me to see them for the first time. . It was a beautiful, sunny day. We had lunch at the Falkirk wheel beforehand. It was my first time at the Falkirk Wheel. I lived in nearby Bonnybridge until I was 15 but that was a few decades before the Wheel or the Kelpies were conceived of. Sadly that day would be the last time I saw Steven as he died suddenly a few weeks later. I considered going back to see them when I was visiting my dad a couple of weeks ago but The Kelpies are firmly linked in my mind to that last lovely day and I think they'll stay that way..
Place of my birth, it's changed a lot for the better. You've been so lucky with the weather, maybe if you move here you could bring it with you. Dunno what music you like but try out a gig at the Barras, the Clutha or one of the many good music venues in Glasgow.
The Kelpies were modelled on two Clydsedale horses Duke and Baron that were the most adorable horses. I would walk my dog all the time in Pollok Estate (large parkland) on the south side of Glasgow where they were stabled and if Baron and Duke were in their stables and the doors were open I'd be able to give them a wee hug and scratch their noses or behind their ears. It was many years ago now but I love the fact that they will be remembered for many years to come through The Kelpies.
The Pollok park Clydsedale horses were huge! Beautiful beasts. The Hielan coos were my favourite as a kid. And the Police dog displays were amazing. Pollok house (and the Burrell) are still special to me.
@alfiekelly5914 Love seeing the baby coos at this time of year. Sadly now u have to pay n display if u want to take the car in and park at the big house.
Brilliant Eddy. I missed your live feed. I must try harder. Hope you're enjoying Arran. Fun fact. Birmingham has more miles of canals than Venice! Some of the canals in Brum are amazing.
I'm glad you caught the good weather for it Eddy, it's not the same if you go to the kelpies or the wheel when its pissing down, like it is right now! Glad you had a good day, I'm just 10 minutes away from there! 👍
If I had known you were in my garden I would have shown you around! Not sure if you got up to the hill to Callendar Park, great view of the valley up there, I live in the town centre across from the shopping mall, nothing that exciting to do around here but loads and loads of history, The Antonine Wall is up at Callendar Park, was the northern border of the Roman empire for about 20 years. When are you moving to Scotland? 4:34 That's "Guilty face" and "Come face"
I walked that very walk last Monday morning. I had just quit my terrible job and needed to go a walk somewhere nice. I got tea and a scone in the cafe for breakfast. Staff were lovely. I was unprepared for how busy its got recently though. Maybe not the best place if youre looking for a quiet walk! Ive been there at 3am in the summer, and its absolutely magical. I'm lucky to live next to this lovely place ❤
