You mean “peppy” as in: “she has pep” bc “pReppy” is a style & Elle is clearly not a preppy chic in this movie. Elle wears stilettos 👠 not loafers. Selma Blair’s character Vivian Kensington, now she was more of the prep. Preppy is polo shirts, the Gap, bottom down tops w/ khaki bottoms & again-> the loafer shoe ✨♥️✨
@MeghanBean I totally agree. It's sad that our world is so fucked that being bubbly, trying your best and loving whatever it is you love to the full extent was seen as dumb. I remember watching this when I was younger and it really charged me up to go out there and just be my best self. Worked in high school and college and then we got to Gen Z and I was screwed lol
I love how this movie tackled the concept of prejudice. Elle was always smart, but people assumed she was atupid just because of her fasion senses and of course her hair color. Its actually much more thought provoking to watch as an adult because i used to carry these prejudices myself.
I watched the movie when i was 9 yo and have those prejudice too, i also make a joke of dumb blondes are, when the movie ended i learn lifetime lesson. I love this movie ❤
@@palviika8712if you have a DVR i think you can rent it from RedBox or your library. I know it was on Netflix & Hulu at one point, it might’ve been taken off tho.
Yes they completely backs her up when she wanted to go to Harvard. Helped her study and everything. They were sad she had to leave them, but still supported her dream. 😊
I know some comments are about how she's rich and obv she knows things. I do wanna bring a new perspective to this, from a thrift shopper. Her knowing her stuff when it comes to fabrics and stitchings? A beautiful passion right there. And not a bad skill to have even when you thrift clothes.
Know stuff? She's an actress reading from a script! how many girls you know talk about half loop stitching in rayon? Please. Store employees do not do that or stand there disappointed she supposedly knew something they didn't . Wow you guys really believe this stuff happens.
OH MY GODS! SHE'S AN ACTRESS, READING FROM A SCRIPT????? Oh gosh, and here I was, thinking it was all real! Thank you for educating me @@markkostka6897. I've been humbled.
@@markkostka6897I’m pretty sure they mean the character knows stuff. Anything in the script that the actress reads will shape the character she’s playing.
@@markkostka6897: that's because you're not female...... If you had to spend your life being fed junk by most stores, manufacturers, etc, you would understand.....
@kalevala29 How is that a good deal? She's trying to sell what was likely a marked down item to her for full price just cause she thinks she's dumb?? It also wouldn't jeopardize anything on Elles end, given that she's considered a VIP customer there.
@@kalevala29on the other hand why would you continue business with them? I might just change out of the dress I was in and find another boutique if I was Elle.
what i love the most in this scene is the way elle catch a liar by letting the saleslady see what she wanna see (elle being dumb) theres nothing more satisfying than seeing someone lie to your face while knowing the truth haha 😅❤
@@palviika8712 I don't know, sorry. I saw them years ago. But didn't record them. My son tried to find it yesterday and couldn't but we're living in South America, maybe you have more options than we do.
"You picked the wrong girl!"... she knows about fabric, stitching, and reads Teen Vogue.....oh my! Love ❤ love this stunning, smart blonde! Shame on her messing with sisterhood! Amazing acting! This movie is a classic! 💋
Yuss, I said to my mom too, that LB had to walk all those years ago so Barbie could run. The "dumb blonde" is actually a smart cookie, unafraid to speak her mind, is more logical and rational than people who scoff at her, and does all that while celebrating soft femininity.
Girl can you just watch the movie before yapping? She knew all that not just cuz she is rich and shops a lot, fashion is literally what she majored in. The shopping thing is PART of her degree.
I love how she made things up to sound real to the salesperson, as a second hidden test. There's 'viscose rayon,' but low viscosity rayon isn't real. Also there's such a thing as a 'half stitch,' 'top stitch', and 'loop stitch,' but no such thing as a 'half loop top stitching.'
My mother is blonde, she has never acted like the stereotype except for maybe once or twice, she’s one of the smartest women I’ve been around and sweetest at that. Nowhere near stupid😌😂
Finally watched LB 1 and 2 this past week and I absolutely loved them! Can't believe it took me this long to watch both in it's entirety. Found new comfort movies and it gave me motivation for school.
@@suvalibiswalThis scene works the same way that she gets Paulettes dog back. She knows the other person has no clue so she puts a few words that sound right together to expose them. There is no low viscosity rayon and a half-loop stitch is not a sewing, but a knitting technique.
@@gaintturnip It means she's saying nonsense to expose the lady trying to trick her. She's doing it on purpose, I wouldn't call it being wrong due to that.
Im not sure what i love more.... i carly being on here, them throwing each other out of the dang box or the fact i know i would have lost due to cooking 😂
this movie did a great job of laying out the reasons elle would make a good lawyer throughout. with this scene, we see that she's shrewd, quick on her feet, and knowledgeable. in the scene where warner ends their relationship, she's able to recall things he said and use them in argument immediately. no matter how she's burned for it, she continues to believe in people, and she gets genuine pleasure out of using the strengths she has to help people. it's a very good movie, unlike the sequel and the much later spin-off movie "legally blondes."
Funny! love hot blonde pro vibes with showing that any serious interests are needed and world constructed in a way that all personality traits will be included
Miss you so beautiful and delicate you're beautiful ❤️ you're the most beautiful actress we've seen in Wisconsin since Elizabeth Montgomery and bewitched keep up the good work
GOSH! me and my mom LOVED this movie but we only watched it on TV, wish i could know where else i could watch this cause in my opinion. THIS WAS THE BEST MOVIE I EVER WATCHED🤩
