The Pearl being “for sale” could also be a joke about how Jack keeps losing it to other pirates

Does anyone else think falcore should have his own npc in sea of thieves? I mean he is the whole reason I played the game in the first place.

Everyone acting like the chase cannons of the Headless Monkey are new when the Magpie's Fortune has had one for years.

Could be a swivel gun. They are basically ship sized blunderbuss. They were heavily used in the Golden Age.

Port merrik has the huge ship building dock that could be hinting at new ship or ability to switch ships while sailing

Chase cannons could be balanced well enough if all ships had bow and stern chase cannons. It might look weird on the sloop but everything on the sloop looks weird.

The Black Pearl in the trailer isn't just the cosmetics though, it's the in-game model as well. The PE cosmetics you were speaking of are just overlays over the standard galleon, but the Black Pearl from the trailer is clearly not a galleon model, but rather the one we see in the finale of A Pirate's Life. It still means there probably won't be another ship type for players, but in no way does it discredit the Black Pearl being in the new tall tales as well. Perhaps Stan the ship salesman stole it from Jack and he has to get it back? I forgive you though; you smug British PC gamers tend to look at smaller screens, so you probably just didn't notice.

You also have to know about the chase cannons they would only really hit the back of a ship so that would hardly be any holes for the ship and shure it could hit the sails but if it can’t shoot chain then that’s not even a really big problem on top of if the chase cannons did low damage

Chase cannons would work it they were smaller caliber and say, couldn't fire chainshots or cursed cannonballs and the splash damage from cannons a little lessoned. This has two benefits. 1: it balances the chase cannons to not be a death sentence to any smaller crews as it's not just immediate disabling of any chased ships. and 2: it makes choosing to load ammo into the chase cannon a trade off to loading it into a regular cannon for better effect. so the forward cannons have a price to pay for the convenience.

I think chase cannons could work as long as they ONLY permit use of cannon balls, bluster and fire bombs. Perhaps with a slightly longer loading time. Gives a slight solution to runners, but doesn't make running hopeless as long as you haven't sustained great damage.

If you add up every single delay, starting from captaincy update, I believe they actually had a plenty of month for testing

Its a pun with the ships for sure, but surely even you noticed that the Pearl in that sequence... is not the emporium set. Its the actual pearl. The Figurehead is that of the Pearl itself (the emporium one holding up a black pearl instead of a bird) And the most obvious parts: The anchor, the front of the ship not matching a galleon AT ALL, and that lil triangle sail at the front (i dont know the official term for it and cant be arsed to look it up for a comment) ..so new ship? No. Jack appearing, even as a cameo? very likely

Chase cannons would be cool, but would make PVP very unbalanced and annoying. Perhaps an alternative is to mount the ships with bow mortars - these cannons launch massive shots but only at very high angles of attack so aiming them is very hard

I feel like they'll be an exclusive thing to thr tall tale, if they're a thing they're going to be added to ships then back canons will be added too

Would love to see chase cannons, would add a new layer of depth to the combat. Though I do agree pulling behind a ship and knocking all their masts down would be pretty easy with chains, maybe they'd have to only allow regular cannon shot into it. And then they'd have to balance the number of them, a galleon having as many front guns as a brig does on a broadside would be pretty insane. Although it would make the Galleon even more fearsome as they should be.

Wasn't there word of a new ship type a while ago? Makes sense with the Price drop for purchasing new ships. And on the current gen consoles they can add quite a bit of stuff. New islands. Added crew size.

Chase cannons would be amazing because crews that just run away are annoying and they could it make to where u can only shoot cannons balls and not chains or people

When sailing through the Pirate's Life portal, there's ghost ships that are un-manned. A bit later after the Tales were introduced they added a captain to one of them that has curious blonde hair tied back in a ponytail. The ship is on the starboard side of your ship and sailing into the Sea of the Damned. Knowing the ship's remains were already there as an Easter Egg, the quiet addition of the ghostly captain in the portal made me a little sus. I mentioned it during Falcore's livestream a while back and said he saw that little change too. Oh, and if you have a spyglass or scope with a red lens it filters out the ghostly green so you can see their true colors.

If chase cannons get added I'm done. I play as a solo slooper 99% of the time, and if I can't waste gankers'... I mean l33t PvP gods'... time as they chase me into the wind with a galleon or brig then it will be pointless. I already try not to let them close enough for cannons to begin with, but this takes out ANY margin of error. You'd have to be too paranoid to actually get anything done.

how do i complete the sea of thieves story line from first mission to last and what is the correct lore of the game, i've been around sea of thieves from 2018 and never thought of doing the story line

I really hope chase cannons don’t become a feature, that might be a game enjoyment killer for me. I’m one of those people who check for Reapers when I log in, and when they’re on the server, I keep logging until I find a Reaper-free server. Lol! Bonus points if the server has Merchant or Gold Hoarder emissaries, they tend to be PvE’ers who leave you alone. I’m not a PvP god, and I’m a runner. I’ve managed to get to a point where I can defeat a small portion of chasers through creative means. I’m slowly getting better, but I avoid PvP combat as some players are just too skilled and I find it difficult to focus and keep a cool head when stressed. I find it highly satisfying to outrun chasers or have my shipmate circle an outpost while I carry our loot in one at a time and then lower our emissary flag, it’s our way of trolling back when other players are relentless for the kill and won’t let up. Sometimes we circle an active volcano to let them know how insane we are - we are both adept at repairs and handling fires, and this method of losing chasers has worked more times than I am proud to admit and has even gotten us some loot. Lol!

Not to mention about the front facing guns, adding those would basically turn the sea into an instant pvp sweat fest. Its hard enough trying to enjoy the game while being attacked by random people running reapers as is, but would basically garuntee that the fights would be over in moments every time, going to the victor. and considering that as is, reaper mains on average n dont need, and have no skill to speak of, that would give us a one up on their pet school shooter faction.
