I would love to play this song at my mother funeral 26th April 2021 she was 92yrs & l was her son & care and now she is with all her brothers & sisters, she was 6 out of 7 she was the last one but not anymore🙏 l am so, so, sorry for what l had said l do so missed her so much 😥
Totally agree bud. I've had this version since its release (well before the George Best funeral version) and it eclipses all other of his and MANY other's attempts as well. Got tickets for his Belfast show this month (Aug) but now been rescheduled to Oct due to his ongoing cancer treatment 😞 🙏
You are correct if is without the portion where the lady sings. Westlife and Josh Groban version are without and that is clearly for parents, spouse, friends and even total strangers.
An old video, but with good quality sound, still the first and best version ever !!!! I have listened all versions but Brian has a wonderfull and unique voice.

from what I have read, this version was the very first rendition of this song, although it didn't top the charts back then (2002). Versions of West Life and Josh Groban did top the charts. Still, I love this Brian Kennedy's rendition.

@@AbaloneKid Amen Abalone. My husband and I both agree that knowing Jesus Christ as our savior has been the greatest thing that has happened to us. He fills us in ways noone can. Nothing compares to the peace and joy He gives us.
There have been many versions of this beautiful song but Brian's is still the best by a country mile, who can forget him singing this at George Best's funeral. Beautiful song sung by a Beautiful singer.
This is the Perfect version of You Raise Me Up. And I played You Raise Me Up on my piano to my grandpa's brother who passed away. Each time I heard this song, I missed him.

This is Brian Kennedy singing. He sang this at George Best’ s funeral in Belfast too. I heard him sing it live a few years ago in Cookstown, Co. Tyrone.
Josh Groban and others popularized it; especially here in the states, BUT it still pales in comparison to this original which I heard many years ago through a spiritual teacher/friend who used it in the background while bestowing a powerful spiritual blessing. I always have fond joyful memories of this. Btw, the original has been the only version that sings the bridge within the song, Josh and most others who cover it leave it out.
