Many versions of this don't include the verse 'Some times I think I glimpse eternity' in them, and no one has been able to tell me why. I think it is the best and most important verse. Such versions seem incomplete.

One of the best songs ever written. You know it almost never got finished. It sat first a line time. Someone said it was too much like Danny Boy. They thought so themselves. Most happily and thank God, they decided to go for it.
That opening violin sound gave me absolute goosebumps and I don't know for how long I cried remembering my mom. She raised me up as a single parent after losing my dad to suicide. And she raised me up to be good, to be brave, and to be kind. Oh, how I miss her.
