They did that to me several times.. They seized my UK passport and made me pay 155 dollars for a visa despite having Nigerian passport. I also entered the airport with 15k naira, when I emerged at duty free I had 1k left and I had to beg to keep that for a bottle of drink.

I have been in that airport and the same thing happened to me, but I handled it differently. I understand peoples frustrations with different issues, but just blaming the President would not solve it. Nigeria has a ministry of Aviation, that airport has a manger, and there are different levels of management that are responsible for the challenges we face n our daily lives like in this case. Focus on them, and you are more likely to get a favorable response than attacking the president

I paused at 1:48, my first time traveling out of Nigeria in 2014, I was exploited, our passports were checked on the queue, when it got to my turn most likely an immigration officer a woman, apparently she knew it was my first time, she didn't pass me on to move, I was directed to some other male officers who asked me to give em money, and threatened they could delay my flight, I dropped something anyway, I think they even said I'm supposed to pay in dollars but on getting to SA it was a smooth, respectful situation to and fro with their official, so I can relate to what this bro is saying. Nigeria situation is appalling, I'm sorry.

Without reading the comment thread, I know some people will still say it's not Buhari's fault. But the simple truth is who do you blame when a ship goes down? When you appoint personnel to your cabinet (ministers & co) you as their oga have to put pressure on them to do their jobs if not, those lazy bastards will just sit in their offices and earn fat salary for doing nothing. Lagos airport is filled up with thoughts which claim to be Nigeria immigration... Roadside police officers are better than those bastards working at the airport. Especially Muthala international airport. Most times you see all this Flight ticket attendance which salaries are not more than 50k Naria will be holding travellers in ransom demanding money from them, especially if the observed your first traveller.
