Thanks for the review! What do you think is an efficient settings for a simple iwagumi with just monte carlo carpet in it?
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 2 года назад
We recommend 40 to 50% brightness on "green" setting to bring out the green depth of the Monte Carlo, 6 to 8 hours a day. Anything brighter you will end up with algae problems since it's a 1 plant aquascape. Make sure the CO2 is on at least 1.5 hours before the lights go on and have the CO2 turn off 1.5 hours before the lights turn off. Hope this helps you with your new Chihiros WRGB II 'SLIM'.

@@NORIaquaCh thank you for the feedback! Green light setting is ok also in the growing phase? The monte carlo is freshly planted. Co2 i have, but it doesnt have a timer.. well i just have to manually do that :) Anyway, what could happen if co2 is on all day?
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 2 года назад
@@didnthurt4077 Green is the optimal setting for Monte Carlo ☝️ CO2 needs to be on at least 1 hour before lights are on and 1 hour before lights are off. This is because plants release CO2 once lights are off, and if your CO2 continues throughout the night you will experience algae problems. We recommend a CO2 solenoid on a timer to best control your a CO2 ☝️

You are welcome 🙂 This bracket will be compatible for aquariums up to 90cm if you mount it from the rear cabinet. Make sure you offset the mount a bit, then extend the upper arm pole. If you have 2 lights you can install one on each end of the cabinet.

I have a 4ft tank and bought the 120 slim , what's the best settings for some java ferns and hornwort? I have holes in the leaves and the leafs are breaking and withering, i set the light at 30% 6500k, or maybe im dosing very little of macro and micro? What's the reason?

It would be a good investment for future uses if you plan to reuse equipment in future. For low tech you can simply lower the brightness with this light to suit requirements of a low tech setup ☺️

Hi, can I use this for 75 cm tank? Will it be effective for the plants and carpets that grows at the corners of the tank?

The 60cm variant should work fine for a 70cm tank, as it has expandable legs. It has proven to be very effective for our tanks for all plants, and carpeting plants have done well using this light.

I just got this light, do you find the power supply makes a high pitch noise? Mine does so I replaced the power supply and the new one also makes a high frequency noise. Is this normal for wrgb2 slim? If you could listen to your power supply and let me know that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏
@NORIaquaCh

What settings do you recommend for a planted tank?
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 2 года назад
It depends on the actual colour of the plants (and fish) inside your aquarium. I usually leave it on default, which is 70% red, green and blue. However. if you have a lot of green plants with non-red fish, launch the "My Chihiros" app , select "Green". If you have green plants with red/yellow-ish fish, select the "Fish" setting. If your tank has lots of pink, purple or red plants and red-ish fish, you can select the "Red" option.
@danialroslan1531
@danialroslan1531 2 года назад
@@NORIaquaCh ok thanks. Im afraid of the default being too strong for a low tech setup
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 2 года назад
@@danialroslan1531 For low-tech tank, I would dial it down to 40 to 50%, this way if you experience algae, you won't have to clean up the mess and fix it. :)

Hi thanks for uploading this. I found it very helpful 😊 Can I ask if it’s strong enough to illuminate a 30wx30wx45H (cm) Paludarium? I’m going to buy a dooa paluda 30 which has a sump/ drip wall built into the back, so they’re kinda narrow front to back once planted. I already have a wrgb 2 on another tank, but it has a fair amount of light bleed front to back even with shades attached. So the narrower slim model might be better…provided it can actually push light down far enough? I’d like to hear your thoughts as an owner if that’s okay?
@NORIaquaCh
@NORIaquaCh 2 года назад
After 3 months I haven't noticed any notable light bleed on the SLIM version. The good news is that Chihiros makes a 30cm version that fits 30w (cm) tanks. The only complaint I have is their half baked Bluetooth enabled app, it needs refining and I haven't seen any app updates since getting the light. For example, if you have a power outage, or you switch off and back on the light, it won't actually turn back on to it's default state. You'll need to manually take your phone and stand in close proximity to allow the app to find the Bluetooth controller. A bit of a hassle, other than that it's a good light for the price point ✅ Thanks Ben.
@benshaw3891
@benshaw3891 2 года назад
@@NORIaquaCh I don’t recall experiencing those issues myself with the app, the only issue i know of is how you mustn’t disturb the connection whilst the app is in use. EG: moving around too much or letting the phone go into sleep mode. Else you get a connection lost message and have to reload the app. It happens more often if the Bluetooth controller is hidden behind the cabinet. So I suggest maybe try improving the line of sight to get a better connection? Fortunately Chihiros say the app is getting a big upgrade soon, I’m assuming to coincide with the new wrgb 2 pro model. Perhaps It fixes your Bluetooth connection errors? The wrgb 2 pro has an improved Bluetooth controller among other improvements, but doesn’t currently have Kelvin adjustment. I’ve disabled auto update on my iPhone, just in case we lose that feature. So I recommend you update at your discretion. I’m waiting to see what others say about it. Lastly, with my wrgb 2 60 what I meant about light bleed / glare is how it floods the room / walls if you’re ambient lighting isn’t also super bright. It’s a bit odd to have your furniture so saturated 😆 Which is why I thought the slim might be better as it has 2 rows of chips rather than 3.

I have this light. In the beginning it worked perfectly. After 6 months DEAD. The green indicator on the power block is on, but the light does not come on anymore. Also the App cannot find any bluetooth coming from the light. I have not touched the light. It was working perfectly for 6 months. Until 1 day it just stopped working. Tried contacting the store where I bought it, but they won't help, because after 6 months, they don't have to. So now I have to buy a new light. I love the WRGB 2 (the full version..), but I'm scared, it's just money down the drain again, so will probably go with another brand. My tank is 90*50*50cm
