Clicked onto this expecting to see some more "advanced" movement tech, but found a video discussing the basics, which turns out was something I personally neglected. I was definitely guilty of spamming the strafe/crouch keys. This was really insightful, thank you!
Thanks for this ! Apex was my first shooter game I played and I wondered why my “strafing” never worked (I was going left to right too fast). Now after watching your video I am playing SOO much better. It’s fun watching my enemies miss now!
hot dayum this is clean. I didnt learn nothing here. i got this down to a T. but seeing everything i put so much effort to learn so succinctly put reminded me to focus back on my basics and get in the mentality of, yeh ok, i understand the basics, how do i add more? reminded me of mokeysniper and how much fun practicing this shit is and to stop being arrogant and thinking i dont gotta improve my strafing anymore. respect.

Never thought I'd pay for video game coaching but I just started playing Apex 7 days ago and I'm HOOKED. Getting decent already but lacking the battle survivability when getting taken out by someone meth spazzing everywhere. But I looooooove Apex. Nothing else has done it for me like Apex has. A big tip from a season 0 player don't get discouraged from your deaths learn from them and also enjoy the creative ways people take you out 😂 paying attention to what they do also allows you to build a counter for it. Another thing is don't pick someone else's playstyle and stick with it create your own unique playstyle that incorporates some other techniques that you like from others. Also get weird with it if someone doesn't know your next move it makes it a lot harder to hit you. Also if your controller remap your jump to either your L2 or R2 triggers unless you have a strike pack and move your crouch/slide to L3 opens up a lot more movement opportunities when your trying to climb/ jump and mantle jump. Also allows you to jump, slide and look behind you all in one motion.
I thought, you know what, getting a private lobby and going 3rd person would really give some better perspective to this. So happy this could help. Make sure she gets insane at the game!

A>D>A>A>A or vice versa works well too btw, good opponents will expect you to counter strafe so their crosshairs will always be positioned further away from where you;re heading. Worked wonders in Overwatch against every hanzo or projectile character. Very effective against the wingman pistol too.(You dont hold the counter strafe keys btw, just tap tap tap)

Truly getting this down while maintaining accuracy is something I find the hardest about this game I’m on mouse and key and sometimes I wonder if my binds are not optimal
man this guide was amazing. i see no one has controller recoil pattern vids. isk currently putting hella hours in the range am still don’t have that 0 recoil the pros have. a recoil pattern video showing thumb movement would be amazing.
You don’t simply teach it man.. I taught my self how to remove recoil with crouch strafing if I try and stand still and shoot someone my sim is terrible

Woah this video is underated. This whole time I was doing mini strafes. Now to correct it. I have a question if you don't mind answering is hold crouch much better than toggle crouch. I notice you can spam crouch much faster.
Hey there; could i please ask how you made the camera face you in third person? I know how to make third person, but how you made the camera on the opposite side ? I feel like that would help me know how i look like in opponent perspective. Many thanks please reply !
One thing I can add is that some people try to do this even when no one is shooting at them. If you're shooting at someone at medium to long range and they aren't able to shoot back easily, just sit still and land those shots. Strafing is only useful when you have to dodge shots because it makes it harder for you to land shots as well.
I practiced this with my friends and I have a crazy story. 1 friend is better than me since he is the one who introduced me to the game and the other one I call him “noob ass bitch”. And this tutorial is so good. Cuz my friend who introduced me barely managed to kill me or even break my shield while I was strafing like this. But my noob friend landed almost 4 headshots or more everytime and always 1 clipped me. He’s on controller. It taught me how much difference it makes just switching to a better control. Picked up my 1st controller and cruising through diamond right now. I’m thinking the headshots happened the moment I would crouch. Anyways, it isn’t as fun playing with keyboard but it sure does get the job done.

Coustom controller is expensive sometimes...i changed my settings to do that movement things .....i swapped triggers for crouch and jump respectively (left trigger for crouch and right for jump) and ADS is on bumper jumpers it really is good
Im glad i watched this video, have seen many strafe guides, but you introducing the fake strafe and then incorporating crouch with the fake is definitely gunna level up my basic strafe pattern. Now i gotta learn how to aim while doing these new techniques
I feel like nobody is talking about b hopping while shooting in close range fights it’s so useful just a bit hard to get used to but when you have perfected this movement mechanic you’re so hard to track close to medium range fights. But a really good Vid again 💪
@@Thelostmcmotorcycleclub then you’re simply doing it wrong or not good enough and however you will strafe in a gun fight people will always hit you it just depends on the intensity how you strafe
@@Thelostmcmotorcycleclub You need to do that + do damage. Once you are taking flesh damage your character starts flinching that's why 100 shields vs 100 health the shield will win. Also if you are really really good you can just dodge shots from average players.
Holy hell why does no one speak about that I myself was doing terrible strafes without knowing it and it explains my enemies’ position when spam crouching lmfao
i got a question here district, i often see players jitter strafing and i seem to not able to hit them at all! is it a net code thing? or some weird hitbox mechanism that i'm not aware of? P.S. i only started playing recently and i'm a MnK player.

nice sum up of the fundamentals. but y is it that me crouch spamming is wining me 80 % of my close range fights? and is the animation fps sensitive like super gildes? pro tip: IF ur enemy has an AR/SMG and u are reacting, not engaging, first strafe ur ass of, fire one or two shots for armor info and wait for the enemy reload animation. THEN u can stop strafing for a sec, aimlock and melt them

Also what i like to do that iv seen not many people do its nothing to do with strafeing but taking quick peak shots from a headglitch there is some strafeing involved but not as much youll be doing a quick crouch and uncrouch and shoot. Its easier to explain with a video. But iv destroyed so many with this method.
what did u do to get into third person, was it the valk glitch or-? ik u can remove UI elements with cfg edits- but wb third person on olympus ? Fantastic video btw, great advice and clear explanations.

Bro love the video... But I have a question I am in FPP I might strafe like this but what will happen to my aim because strafing in different directions may throw off my tracking from enemies
It's no different then when a person strafe left and right and you need to track them, when you strafe more left you might need to pull a little bit in the opposite direction (move left look right, move right look left) you can practice doing this on the dummies, go check out my aiming warmup video on my channel!
I see this all the time when I'm dead and they're looting my box. Just vibrating. I call it the negative strafe. All they're doing is bringing more attention to themselves, but not making it any more difficult to shoot them.
