Here is Australia they are banned. Then they replaced them with thicker heavier plastic bags that cost 15 cents. Or you can buy a fabric bag for 1 or 2 dollars. I still see most people using the heavy plastic bags because everyone forgets to bring their fabric bag.
@@AshNikkosWife Only if you forget to bring you bags from home. They did it for environment protection reasons, trying to force everyone off plastic bags, Many countries do this now, including Canada, and most of Europe. Even China and many African countries have banned them. Its coming to the US too. I believe there are a few states in the US north East that have banned plastic bags.
He's doing ok (he does occasional tv work and the like), but reestore is pretty much dead. That horrible shopping trolley chair is on his website for £950, which is absolutely absurd.
"Peter Jones thinks that he`s spotted a flaw in Max`s pitch" .... his suit! He`s got some great stuff with his chairs. Hope he does really well. I did agree with the Dragons, in the sense that the carrier bags are a major issue in terms of recycling.
Cant believe how many people are still watching Dragons Den on RU-vid. Even all the old episodes. I thought it was only me! I didn't think the show was that popular.
Nah mate it was a silly idea when you can either put it in the recycling bin outside or simply get another inside bin for recycling. Reinventing the wheel to be slightly less round
This was a charming episode, and one of my unexpected favorites! Duncan's sense of humor with Theo's "money", Theo's drastic turn-around, Max's charm, and how effortless the deal was made with Deborah and the other two all made for excellent television!
Apparently sometimes the money was partially real. Not the Dragon's own, obviously, but the Dragon's and contestants claimed it was real and fake mixed together. Why? No idea. 🤷♂️
@@JeremiahEcks777 all for affect I thought that for a while bc the dragon does a check but to scare n intimidating the person and the power and such they hold
Deborah and Theo have good taste, I also like these chairs and the cravat he is wearing. It'll appeal to many people, and Deborah is right about the entrepreneur he seems talented and creative. I will watch this and hope all involved great success.
It's funny how they can insult everyone, but if someone respond they get suddenly offended 😅. Very mature behaviour. One reason for never showing up at this place.
I don’t understand the purpose of Ben the bin. Wouldn’t you just put a carrier bag on in your kitchen and fill it with stuff then carry it down? Why would anybody need the plastic stand?
Those chairs would have been a THOUSAND times better had he use old leather (which you can easily source scraps of and patch together), and used an ACTUALLY old shopping cart whose metal is distressed. The one he used is either new, or he used something to restore it. The whole beauty of restoration is seeing that the new object had an old life.
Plastic grocery bags are actually banned in my city, and you have to pay for paper; 10¢ per bag, I think. There is no charge if you’re using EBT (food stamps) benefits. Most people use cloth bags.
@@gdog7391 He's making a joke. There's an absolute muppet here that comments nearly every video "My boy smashed it his company is now worth 50 million" (Darren, there's another guy I can't remember). OP is satirising them.
The shopping trolly chair looked great. I hope this guy has gone far. I’m waiting for my washing machine to pack in to make a fire pit out of the drum which I’ve seen people do 😀
supermarket bags will leak a tonne of juice and be disgusting. The trolley and wheelbarrow chairs are awful. the washing machine table might almost be useful. but just about anyone could make one.
They make biodegradable grocery bags btw and the FACT you can’t recycle the common grocery bags is it not suitable to reuse the bags? I agree with this guy completely about his mission and his products are really cool in my opinion and make plenty sense, I like the wheel barrow chair and washing machine table is sooooooo coooool!!!! And y’all so paid, lend him 50k haha that’s so little he asked for compared to others who ask for like 175k 200k etc and he has a way better mission!
"Something is stopping me for saying I'm out" Den: Deborah, you are out since you said those 2 words. Rules dictate if you say "I'm out" you are out regardless of what you say before those 2 words.
Another terrible call from Peter. Fifteen years ago I bought a simple wire-frame version of the bin. Ten years ago one-use plastic bags were banned from stores in my state "except for...". I'm still using my frame, and putting about three bags a week on it.
@@carpiiagreed, also there is no way to paten a product like this, nor is it a new or unique idea. Bins you can put a plastic bag in have existed since plastic bags. Peter made the right call
Usually don't get or have any emotions for the den since of Will I am man enough to say he choked me up into tears but good on ya for this guy and it made me smile to see Theo and Deborah invest.
I thought the bag hold was kind of clever, but then I realized nobody in their right minds would just leave one on the open in their kitchen or anything like that
I usually use reusable shopping bags in my kitchen for glass, paper and drinks containers with deposit. If such a thing came fitted with, say, a washable cloth bag, I would pick up two or three of them immediately. Much nicer than my solution.
He’s still going, making the same sort of stuff and selling them on his own website. Company is called Reestore Ltd (must have been auto corrected in the video description)
@@lo3551 Even so it's still greenwashing. Use up your bags in your rubbish bin, put your recyclables in a cardboard box. Done. No need for a piece of plastic thrown into the mix.
@@taranullius9221 Re read my comment. I was stating they were being used back when this video was made not now so I was stating their use now is irrelevant @Sean Charlie84. I haven’t used single use bags for years and depending on the country you’re in like ours they were banned years ago anyway. :)
Duncan is a one trick pony! It's just a piece of plastic he says. So, is a blanket just a bunch of fibers? Is a can of Coke just a piece of aluminum and brown liquid? He's so annoying!!
