Thank you finally somebody that gets me these little kids whining because they didn’t get 100% accurate minifigure it’s not that deep it’s a plastic figurine that goes with what your building
@@derrickhuff6234I think everyone is allowed their own say in this argument but I wouldn’t say little kids care about quality as they don’t have to buy sets for themselves I think it’s mainly nerdy (not in a bad way) teens and adults who collect their Lego just for the figures and their value
The misprint on the 212th helmet and the waist capes are far bigger issues. There's no doubt the holes are not ideal, but probably more just that people are sick of hearing about the helmet holes. Great video. I was hard on you on some previous LAN videos but I do really appreciate your genuine joy for the hobby. It's far easier to go down the path of hating on every little thing about the sw theme and your optimistic approach is a breath of fresh air.
I do think the printing can be better for sure like Fox and 212th! Thanks for the positive words bro I really appreciate it. Thanks for being apart of this community🙌
@@brickmasterharriI think that the fact that lego themselfs photoshopped ti down on the 501st packaging is enough for me best clones = clone army customs
So think about it if the clones now a days didn’t have helmet holes everyone would probably be complaining that we can’t customize clones and put things like Marco binoculars on them
@@Samfan4Films777no, a large part of Lego sw fans were complaining that there were no helmet holes in p2 clones, that is exactly why Lego changed the mold after 8 years of non-holed helmet mold.
The only changes to new clones that bother me is the waist capes (I had to be told that’s what they were on the officer in the second 501st pack because they’re so non-apparent) and the printing on Fox is pretty sad with how inaccurate they made it. Helmet holes are such a non issue though
I don't hate the Helmet holes on the recent Clone Trooper figures. Seriously, people are over their heads with the hate over new holes on the helmets! Guys please, if Lego group had decided that they should make the holes lower, the accessories would have been looking very weird on the helmets, there just wasn't any other way to do that for them!
It would've been fine if they would've taken the MOLDED HOLES off. At the end of the day I think they look bad but not bad enough to stop me from building my army
I have no problem with helmet holes, what ticks me off is the waist capes, like i have a couple clones and like to display them but from afar you barely can see the printing on the legs compared to a cloth one that adds depth and style(i really like cloth elements in general tbh)
The helmet holes don’t bother me but the printed on waist capes do it looks like a karate belt and is it really that hard to bring back real waist capes.
Lego should have made a Commander Thorn instead of a Fox, considering that the faded prints of lighter colors are a well known issue. With Thorn Lego would have been able to avoid this problem since every armor piece of him is mainly white, so they would have only white pieces to print red details on. Additionally Thorn is the cooler shock trooper commander anyway. Sometimes I really do not understand Lego's choices of things when such issues like a poorly printed minifigure could be so easily avoided. Although one could have the theory whoever decided on the minifigure selection of the Coruscant gunship did not know or care about The Clone Wars at all since the gunship's minifigure selection does not represent any specific episode or arc of the show and therefor the ones responsible did not even know that there is another shock trooper commander other than Fox.
I don't have a problem with helmet holes and I'm glad I can finally have phase 2 clone troopers with visors and stuff, but I think our responsibility as consumers is to complain if we feel that the product we are buying doesn't meet the expectations we are paying for, so I totally respect and support those who complain about the holes or anything that lego does, doesn't matter how toxic they can be. Every single fandom has a group of angry toxic fans and start a witch burning of everybody who doesn't loves legos unconditionally to clean the fandom does nothing but to turn the fandom an unwelcoming place.
I agree with your take. I have more issues when Lego messes up the printing on clones than how ugly they made helmet holes ( Which could've looked good)
I wish we could’ve gotten sets for Star Wars TFU series. I was saddened that LEGO only made one official set based on such a great game franchise. We need more love for Star Wars games from the EU old and new. 😢
The problem is they should do both movie accurate design and animated design like back in 2014. The new hybrid is weird and they made the choice to save money. The design prints overall is very bad for clones for some reason. 212th and fox for example
While I think Captain Rex being in a Microfighter set is kind of a marketing ploy, I think it was a missed opportunity. I think they should have made a full-scale version of the blue Y-wing as we haven't had a Republic era Y-wing since the first one back in 2008.
I think the clones are just fine under the sense that compromises have to be made, and playability/compatibility>detail; I think that philosophy is what makes lego so great in the first place. That's why I think waist cloaks were removed; the plastic ones were horrible imo, even if they looked decent, because you couldn't bend their legs without taking it off(I remember having the old clone battle pack with the walker, and the captain couldn't move his legs at all). The cloth ones were better, but you still couldn't sit them down on studs as easily and the fabric would eventually rip over time. The printed ones don't look great, but the figures have full range of motion, which is great in itself. I simple side printing of the legs would help make it look good enough without risking range of motion like the old ones did. Looks certainly matter, but they should never overrule compatibility, and playability. The same thing can be applied to the helmets, so I think the helmets we got are pretty good. I also tend to enjoy playscale sets more as well, or at least sets with lots of interesting build techniques, which often entails play sets because of the clever design required to fit play features inside a model. When you don't have to worry about play features, the build process is much simpler. I can't really get into capital ship UCS sets, or things like helmets, because the way they're built is kind of tedious. To me, the playscale sets are the heart and soul of lego sets, and what it's really all about. I also really like micro-scale builds because of the creativity required to represent a larger object on such a small scale, yet so many seem to gloss over them. It really came as a shock to me to see so much jaded cynicism regarding star wars lego after not partaking in the hobby for 12+ years and coming back to it. Lots of entitlement and too much focus on "investing"(scalping, more like), too much focus on exclusive minifigures, not enough hype around how fun the sets are themselves(same thing happens with transformers toys, sadly). Figures are great and really bring a set together, I get it, but they're just a cherry on top of the ice cream sundae. Really love the positive takes here that sees lego for what it is, rather than wishing it'd be something different, subbed!
There is a reason why waist capes are removable 😂😂 Taking them out takes away from the people that enjoy them. The new printed ones are lazy and not good looking as is
Sorry but I have to disagree the cloth ones were perfect but the you can sit the clones without the old cloth ripping, and I think the reason they changed is to save money and make more money by increasing the price. If they really did want to help they would have done a 360 Kama print
I always thought that the whole helmet hole debate was so stupid, like jesus christ u can barely see them anyway whats the big deal, all they do is give u way more customization options which is amazing
Its cause imo they just look worse than the og ones. If they had just changed the moulded accessories (excluding the range finder) everyone would have been happier.
The thing I can agree with is the lack of waist capes, but I do not mind the helmet holes at all, though I will admit in front view it does make the helmets look off but it doesn’t bother me. What does really bother me is like you said how they are trying to combine the animated and movie styles for their prints. While it is nice to have consistency between different kinds of clones, I would still prefer having the more realistic movie versions for phase II clones
I can look for good deals on lego star wars minifigs, to see if I can make some money. But I don't get the idea of buying a set just to keep it sealed for like a decade. Figs I get but not sets.
i finally decided to play the old republic when i heard you talk about it and i named me mayn ayolis and i realised i wanted to name myself ''squirter of the creamy liquid'' how to change name
They could have just put them in the right place, but are still very nice, because Lego is willing to listen to fans as long as it doesn’t cut into their massive profits too much, such as spending 5 cents in already overpriced 20 dollar battle packs to include optional cloth kamas
Helmet holes and lack of fabric camas has grown on me. Especially with Lego’s valid reasons, but there is no defending the inaccurate and low quality printing that appears on the 212th trooper and captain fox.
I can get some people liking the holes but it’s completely undeniable that there is a distinct lack of quality with clone figures compared to pretty much every other Star Wars figure The fact they make such intricate moulds and prints for every new stormtrooper variant yet can’t get Fox’s chest armour the right colour is just pathetic
To be fair lego investors and influencers also technically keep the secondary market prices lower that they could be if no one was buying the sets. To elaborate with out investors maybe only 5 sets get sold and then after retirement the prices double because there is a limited supply in the secondary market. However investors buy large quantities and influences encourage others to buy more. Now the secondary market after retirement has 500 vs 5. Therefor more supply after retirement. Numbers are obviously down sized for sake of compression.
i can live with the helmet holes, but they do look better without. Commanders like cody or fox kinda need their own mold, and then the normal troopers could have proper helmets
Personally, I liked the the og helmet having wider visors, especially on white phase 2 clones. holes are annoying for no reason, they should have though how to make it better, or be in place. Honestly I would rather have old molds and no accessories holes at all. an new special dual mold for the visor helmet.
The main problem is LEGO just turned their backs on their fans and lied to them countless times. Such as with the box art for the AT-TE, and having Waistcapes in Dreamz and Avengers but not Star Wars. They know what they're doing is wrong, but for some reason they hate us.
Bruh, they made a 501st battlepack because fans asked for it, they made a UCS gunship because fans asked for it, they made captain Cody because fans asked for it. The hole helmet holes thing is because fans asked for it, if something LEGO actually listens to the fans and gives them the sets they want. But yeah, just because of a render issue and waistcapes “lEgO hAteS uS”, bruh come on 😂😂😂
About the clone animated/live action style, I wish they just kept the 2014 live action style but swapped the legs for the new ones and just made all the designs even the CW ones with that style
Honestly I think we need more colour more varied price range and play features in Lego Star Wars sets because these past two years have been a drought for these factors with the only real colour being on the t-6 shuttle at least next years leak show really good sets at low prices but please more play features Lego all we have had this year is a cockpit a studshooter and a storage compartment if you’re lucky
Honestly I think helmet holes are a great play feature but they don’t work on antennas or helmet torches if it would be connected to the thicker extruding ear hole area it may work better
So I don't mind the helmet holes, but LEGO's approach to waistcapes is objectively terrible. I would actually, if you're not going to give waistcapes, it is still better to no print them on the legs. They look stupid. They don't even look like printed cloth. If you showed the figure to someone unfamiliar with Star Wars they would be unable to tell what that printed detail even represents; it doesn't look like armor. Give us waistcapes. Given the above, LEGO's clones with waistcape printing are nowhere near perfect.
I remember seeing one of those channels that unboxes hauls of figures to resell and they dont even care about the figures themselves but rather the resell value. Theyll just ignore really cool figures because theyre either not super expensive or came out that year.
Me personally I don't care about helmet holes or misprints. If anything I like helmet holes because I can put all those visors and antennas you get from the pack of the clones with the Ahsoka helmets on my 212th figures.
I love the idea of helmet holes but Lego for some reason put them in the wrong place, to add on to that they give the clones printed waist capes, lego really need to up their game.
I completely agree. I see no problem with helmet holes. If anyone does have a problem they can just buy helmets from GCC. It is awesome that Lego even puts all these different clones in sets. Great video!
Sorry but I have to disagree. I think they should have remoulded the accessories but they were too lazy and just changed the placement of the helmet holes instead.
@@Sashin-d8t wait that’s actually a good idea, they could have the holes in the right spot, and they could have made new clone visors like the CAC ones that can go above where the holes are.
@@EwokStopmotion Thank you, although I do agree the helmet holes are hated on. But people forget, when 2/3 of the accessories are being used the helmet holes look really good
What gave me the MOST joy as a Lego enthusiast was finding a Head and Hair piece for my Zorii Bliss figure that looks somewhat like the actress that played her in the movie. if I lost ALL my Legos except THAT one, I would be content.
About the helmet holes, perhaps it's and isseu of blending the holes themsevles with those round parts below them, though they may look misaligned with the visor.
I hundred percent agree with everything you said in the video helmet holes don’t bother me either if there had to be one thing about the new clones that does bother me is in foxes case the pink look on his chest plate and with the 212 troopers the messed up helmet print it’s not a big deal but Lego could do a better job with printing, but that doesn’t stop me from adding new clone troopers to my collection.
First video I have seen of yours. I appreciate the positivity vs. the endless nitpicking of some other RU-vidrs. Helmet holes are kind of crap. Save them for named figs or specialists. Its nice to have regulars without amy holes.
I love it when other people nitpick for me. Cause I don’t like doing it but when hundreds of other people do it for me Lego is forced to actually listen to fans
My hot take is lego is going down hill. There are so many cool sets they still release each year but they seem to just have more and more problems. The quality control used to be the reason I thought lego was better than mega construx but even that's not very good anymore! So many sets I get with blue pieces don't even look that good with how inconsistent the dye Is. I really hope lego does better but until they do I'm gonna buy more mega construx instead
I fully disagree about those hot takes paying 140 dollars and some over priced battle packs and misprinted clones for some mid to down right trash clone troopers paying 140 should be peak lego clones and i can't forget about the printed cloth be better lego
I like the idea of Commander Fox but Lego had terrible execution on his torso. After building him I was disappointed with how bad he looked. He's the worst looking clone Lego had ever made in my opinion obviously.
I don't care about the helmet holes, but its shocking how I don't hear more complaints about the ugly family guy stormtrooper helmets. At least the helmet holes don't stop the figure from turning their head. I'm holding off on picking up any sets with troopers in them because I have a feeling they will get changed like the Rebel fighter pilot helmets.
Hmm this makes sense…🤔 Also maybe they could make three types of clone helmets One with no holes One with one hole for a rangefinder One with two holes (which we already have)
From a business standpoint, that is not a good idea, simply because it is not worth it money wise. Plus, it would take out a lot of customization and playability for their target audience (4-15 years old) which counts for +80% of their income. The helmet holes are fine, people are overreacting al lot about it, if something they should try to fix the placement and make a separe visor mold for p2 clones, but again, that takes off the possibility of using the same attachment for both p1 and p2 clones, making it inconvenient for kid customers.
Feel like I should’ve been more specific now. I meant to say that I think the newer Lego Star Wars sets aren’t as good as the older ones. The older ones I feel had more play features and just more bang for your buck. Like with the customizable republic gun ship you referenced in an older video. A ship that you can feel like is more unique. Compared to a 500 dollar venator that comes with a Rex.
Ohh I gotcha! Regardless I enjoyed thinking about your Hot Take. I went on a little personal rant during it, but in no way was that aimed at you😂 Sorry for misrepresenting your take, but I think it provided an interesting way to think about things
@@brickmasterharri no it’s all good. Literally right before you started to talk about that I was thinking I probably should’ve worded that better. I still liked hearing your opinions on the subject
Going around saying everyone is over reacting and then saying in the title. “You’re over reacting “ is such a good way to get subscribers… they are literally our two spaces for the holes one that they plugged up and then one that they added on top of another hole. It looks like trash and it isn’t right. sorry that I’m not a wussy like you and I don’t lay over.
The title was meant to reflect the Hot Takes that I started out the video with, not my personal opinion🙌 You're allowed to have your own opinion and I totally get where you're coming from.
Better idea, Lego a billion dollar company should give helmets holes too the clones that need and and give physical waste capes too clones. Redesign the visors to be more accurate to Star Wars, and fix the miss prints on all clones to be more accurate to the clones wars or episode 2/3.
We really aren’t tho the new Lego dreamz line has waist capes so why don’t clones Lego could easily fix the helmet holes they did it before it’s just our company being lazy and not doing things that could actually get them more money (also you been doing a great job lately don’t listen to what other people say being positive about a set is a great mind-set to have)
