In Guild Wars 2, waypoints are used to go from point A to point B. To do that, you need to pay a small fee, but this fee will immediately add up as you play the game through out the years.
For this reason, this video will be your guide to saving up to 75% on waypoint costs by using items that you probably already have, but arent using. In 3.2k playing days, I spent 1k gold in waypoints, and I can now save most of it given that we have all the items necessary to traverse in Tyria for free.

Join three guilds: one with a HoT guild hall, one with a PoF guild hall, and one with a EoD guild hall. Cheap travel from those guild halls.

Great video and a good reminder of how much portal fees add up. I would also add that the Thousand Seas vip pass has a portal to 4-6 spots in every regions except HoT maps. Also has portals to every city including Arborstone. It’s frequently on sale for 800 gems and is probably my best gem store purchase after salvage kits.

Also, if you happen own the Maguuma Pact Operation Portal Device you can travel to Heart of Maguuma maps that have the meta ongoing/about to start, and the World Boss Portal Device can take you to a wide variety of maps too. Might come in handy to check them before travelling somewhere.

World Boss Portal Device is nice if youre going for world boss farming, otherwise it will most likely never take you to where you want to go xD But good tip

To get to Orr (Straits of Devastation) or Mount Maelstrom travel to Loins Arch then go to the Cavern Waypoint and enter Lorinar’s Pass use the portal at the Durman Priory (unlocks with the story step for Fort Trinity). Also use the portal in Divinity’s Reach to travel to the Fields of Ruin

Since patch you can buy a portal scroll to Lions Arch from the Fractal Rush Vendor for 100 prestine fractal relics

The gold you will spend buying shared inventory space/bags in order to storage all those scrolls is less than teleporting? If you are using only one character, sure, but if you are using more, not worth. Not to mention all the loading screens :D

there is lions arch scroll but u need to eiither craft it which isnt worth it or wait for fractal rush which was right now tho and it ended

My most used scroll is to Lake Doric - gets me to Divinity's Reach for free where I do most of my Trader and Bank access and crafting.

@@xGuiders Like me. Biggest cheapass in Tyria. Id rather wait through loading screens than paying for waypoints. Unless its on a low level character. I don't mind paying 50 to 80 copper for a teleport.
