@@Hashiriya086 the Mustang, Camaro and Nizzan Z have been the only platforms that have been around over 20 years in production and produced manual cars. The Yaris is new and the 86 just came back.
@@walk4348 it still contributes? Like fr in this time we gotta take what we can get, it doesn’t matter how long it’s been around, if it’s got a manual then it’s adding to our cause, and shouldn’t you want new cars to come with manuals?
Yet why are the same whiners , who wanted a manual optioned Supra, are complainin'about it having a manual optioned Supra? There was enough backlash about the Supra getting a manual option that one of the Toyota Dealerships had shut down its own forum.
@@marcusgreen2621 every single gear. Every single day. Regardless it being a ‘racing technique’ having the engine in the right rpm range, in the right gear for daily street driving is always an advantage. I did 190,000km on my original brakes. Rev matching when done properly allows for faster and smoother gear changes. You can eliminate A LOT of wear on the clutch and synchro’s this way. Never am I ‘riding the clutch’ or releasing it easily on the downshift. Revs are kicked up perfectly to where they need to be for the lower gear and I literally drop the clutch-hard. And yet it’s completely smooth. You cannot feel the engagement. But hey… this is all sure to go over one’s head who doesn’t see driving as fun and simply a chore to get from a to b.
bullcrap..totally a bad choice...try to sell a Dodge Hellcat with manual...nobody wants them---a stupid choice in a turbo engine....slower and uses more gas.....bad choice.
@@robalexander2591 toyota did it better than BMW or else you would be seeing more BMW's over the Supra. Not to mention the GR Corolla, GR86, GR yaris? Toyota has been doing a great job as of lately, but they can do better.
@@Powahboi It already does kid. The internet can even tell you the supra wipes the floor with the 400z. My buddy owns a 400z and is talking to me about trading it in for a supra after driving mine lmao
@@Powahboi then quit crying about the fact that it’s not a JZ3 and that is a BMW. Do you remember why the MK4 was so famous? Because the MK5 still follows in it’s footsteps
Congrats for your 1 million subscribers and I absolutely love the mk5 supra even with the auto tragic as well as the manual transmission. The design of the mk5 is very futuristic some may not agree with me but I think its pretty good. I wish Toyota could have launched the mk5 supra in India. I live in India and I am a student. I will definitely buy it if it comes to my country or I will import from any country. Also great thanks to your team for teaching me all about cars. I learned many things about cars during the pandemic time from your channel. Thank you a lot 👍👍keep up the good work . Love and support from India. Thanks a lot .
There are more hellcats than supras around and they are in totally different markets. Supra is more refined and a proper sports car versus that 4 seat family car.
There's some guys comparing components in the newer Supra, no surprise it was mostly BMW parts, I mean, just look at it, it's either a Toyota Z4 or a BMW Supra, your choice
The Supra was not a "super car killer". And for the record, the A80 MK4 Supra when it was new in dealerships(from 1993 to 2002) , wasn't well received by the public (the MK3 A70 Supra is the highest selling Supra to date).
Exactly this! I love the supra but those A80 2JZ monsters all over YT required ALOT of building and fine tuning and alot of money in many cases and lord when that little bastard starts throwing random ass CELs when you do even a baby pull, it makes you wanna scream. They are very fun cars but only recently gained fame due to The Fast and the Furious
no one seems to realize the main reason there expensive is that they sold like crap like there like around same amount of r32 gtrs and that’s car is just a trim level
Correction it has 382 hp. And since it's a bmw engine that's wheel horsepower not "crank horsepower" like Nissan uses or other japanese and American brands use so it's more like 420 crank horsepower
I hope you are right about the 20 years thing I just got the a91mt in Cu later gray same as you tested and plan to drive it for the next 20+ years. It's the most expensive trim by the way I think the video listed it at 52.5k. It's about 60k plus markups of course. Great video thanks
Wonderful Video , As a car enthusiast I was waiting for the manual, however I will wait 2 more years to see if there’s any flaws/bugs to be ironed out ❤️❤️
Exactly! I sell them and until one drives one they can't comment about them .they're absolutely insane and can handle 1000hp on stock internals just like the glorious 2jz .and as much as I love the manual ...the automatic was smart .it shifts lightning fast
@@mutinyrider666 The 2JZ can only handle 800+ Horsepower on stock bottom end. 1000HP, majority of the stock internals are changed. It's just a stock block . And for the record, most don't realize that the 2JZ actually and originally came from the Toyota Artisto (JZA147)/Lexus GS Sedan. NOT the Supra A80.
@@sorason931 Actually the 2JZ is not half Yamaha, however it was built upon collaboration from Europe. It's basically just a stroked 1JZ(that was half built by Yamaha). And the 2JZ/1JZ are not far off from stock internal and stock bottom end power. Plus both engines are influenced from the European inline engines. Go figure
@@stuchbrosmnore8627 this is true. Which is why I don’t know why people complain about the B58 being BMW so what it’s a great motor and really the successor to the 2JZ and people hate to admit it. I have a 22 Supra and I ether get from people I love the car or nice bmw. It’s like the same old mustang joke that they just crowd killers. Which theses day and the S550 mustangs are amazing on track and can actually turn xD it’s just the drivers that are bad. Same with any cars.
i think the nissan z killed itself because dealers sell it for over 100k and people often forget thats its not all about the horsepower but about the torque which is insane on the suora for 330hp
I know the enter net hated on the supra at first. But I like it. But still kind of wish it was based off the M4 or 435 than the Z4. But all and all it's still fine.
I would better get with paddle shifters, but i still want to save manuals. (i want it just because my dream is a supra woth paddle shifters, so you dont need to remove hands from steering wheel)
I don't understand, Im on the list for the first one to come to the dealership close to me but everything I watch says there will be a lot of them available. However, if you google how many manual cars they are going to make they say only 500.
Unfortunately "affordable" means nothing when it goes to dealerships. Going to see these 50k Supras go for 100k+ with the markups they bout to do LOL. Gonna have a Tire shine markup of $10,000, shiny breaks of $15,000, "Special" Air Tire, $20,000...you name it they'll make it!
Supra is gonna be lot faster now cause pf manual i mean the shifting is gonna be like so good but its on driver supra is backkk babyy now this is the real backing supra lol btw happy 1M❤
So now that theyvhave a manual version. People are going to run to the dealership and buy new right? Because if everyone waits until they hit the used market that won't help toyota justify doing it again in the future
You remind me of the haters of the MKIV in the 90s. Then Fast and the Furious comes out and whoah! What a "legend" People are sheep. Live your life and like what you like. MKIV, MKV, etc. Enjoy these cars because they will soon be gone as we switch to hybrid, hydrogen and electric
Where are all the "I would only buy the new Supra if it came with a manual" keyboard Warriors at? Who won't put their money where their mouth is. When Toyota announced they would release a Manual optioned Supra A90, people who complained about the Supra having no manual option, fussed and complained about the Supra A90 having a manual option. Even Bladed Angel on youtube covered this in one of his "cars hype" video. People are effin ungrateful and whiners
I already bought the supra. 😂 I would of bought the manual if it came out back then. But I’m not going to swap my zf8 for the manual. Zf8 is way superior in every way. This is my first auto ever. Not worth trading it in. Sorry Toyota.
🤦♂️ Gentleman, I own a M4 2022. I’m telling you folks respectfully. It’s NOT a Supra. Yes I love the outside design. Love Toyota on how the car looks. It feels like a BMW. I drove the B58 engine I have the S58 engine and it’s really the same experience.
The manual version is even better because the transmission is bespoke, specifically designed for the Supra. Honestly it is one of the best sports cars you can get at that price.
