@Rubideux He did get beat by Wallin, the ref couldn't stop the fight because the Wilder rematch had been penciled in. Fury lost to Mcdermott, Wallin and was uncon against Wilder. I just remember how much stick AJ got when he lost to Ruiz (mainly from Fury’s mouth), who was and is a much more credible opponent. Pundits have this huge bias of inflating the abilities of Wilder and Ngannou to make Fury look better, even in defeat. Hopefully we can see through it now.

Giving Ngannou zero chance was ludicrous when Fury has a history of being floored by a huge hitter with very little boxing skill. There was too much hubris coming from the boxing community. It was a heavyweight contest and the modern heavyweight division is based almost solely on physicality.

I’m not a hater on Gareth , and I agree with everything he said other than I think Tyson Fury lost that fight by one round . I re-watched it , with no commentary and I gave them five rounds each, but Francis Ngannou scored the knockdown, and looked better more composed imho It was a close fight, but definitely wasn’t a robbery .

Davies took ages to answer the question putting all the excuses out first. If Tyson does the rematch he should be sued by Usyk & also the belt should be on the line. Tyson has been holding that belt hostage for ages & Usyk signed a contract for the date of 23rd December, Tyson decided to have an exhibition fight as a warm-up & it went wrong.

Love the way some people are trying to justify this. It was a novelty fight thats all. Ngannou did very well considering, but he didn't look that good to me. Fury was awful, so it was either an off night or his out of ring behaviour is finally starting to catch up with him.

Look across the majority of the rounds. Only one person was doing cleaned effective work. Nothing Fury threw even registered with Ngannou. Look at their faces. At least 5 of those rounds, Francis threw the more effective, harder, damaging shots. 10 little flick jabs don’t outweigh a couple of Ngannou’s power shots. People giving Fury the 10th. Fury ran for the whole round! Also, Gareth, would love you to debate this with your mate Adam, and Nick, on Fight Disciples.

Really struggling with this. I'm struggling to find Gareth incorrect on any of this. Only the conclusion here for a rematch now is misplaced. Usyk has a contract and he will allow the date to move from December to maybe February but his destiny is set. He's not stepping aside. Gareth really killed it here though. Respect!

As a fan of boxing for 30 years and a fan of MMA for 26 years my biggest take away from this fight is a segment of the boxing community rates stay busy jabs far more importantly than I do. Personally, I rate a hard powerful punch that gets a persons attention as equal to 7 or 8 stay busy jabs that do very little damage. If a person scores the fight with that mindset this is a easy Francis Ngannou victory by at least a round if not two or three rounds in my opinion. I don’t think it’s a robbery, because again, if you value stay busy work more than a limited number of power punches there is definitely a case for Tyson Fury winning. I’ll say once more in my mind a power punch that lands should be equal to 7 or 8 jabs that did very little damage. Hell, a Ngannou power punch is probably equal to 10 to 12 stay busy jabs.

The point is Francis can actually box , when everyone thought he couldn’t , plus he just happens to have massive power plus is the strongest person physically who fury has ever fought , add to the mix that fury wasn’t on it and you get what we got last weekend 😮
