This game is just awesome and I am on my second loop, working on another ending. I didn't even know about it until a week before release and I am totally hooked by how the game works. I also went with a Luck after finding the two rings for Double Damage or Defense. Once you hit 40% on those rings, you will notice the ability on them proc a lot more often than you would think.
That's what I love most about video games. You can just randomly stumble across A game, and end up having A blast with It. Also good luck on your second loop!
This game is something truly special and this is a wonderfully positive review the game absolutely deserves! I stumbled across it, took a chance on it, then became totally hooked. However, after beating it and getting at least halfway through a NG+ playthrough, I see there are quite a lot of spoilery late game/NG+ things shown and talked about in this video, even things I haven't yet discovered well into NG+. Not trying to be a jerk at all. I just worry showing and telling this much late/NG+ stuff could spoil some awesome surprises for some new players. Happy to see such a well deserved and enthusiastic review for this game though. I hope the developer sees all the success from this! Subbed.
All good! I take any, and all criticism as A way to better myself. Good or bad. So no need to apologize. Also I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and sub!
These days, it's rare for a game to keep me entertained enough to keep me playing. Whether it's just me personally, or just how games are lately. Withering Rooms, however, hooked me in right from the start. I was originally intrigued by the game due to the art style, and i wondered what it'll be like when mixed in with a 2.5D style gameplay. Not to mention, it's rogue-like aspect. It blends in really well, imo. The gameplay, despite comments that it can be clunky, is surprisingly fun and addictive. The story and lore keeps me going, even through all the deaths and subsequent loss of items. Personally, i just never felt discouraged about losing my items due to deaths. I was so hooked on the game, that i completely lost track of time, and have somehow managed to spend 6 hours on the demo alone. And that feeling stayed throughout all my playthrough, often finding myself checking the time and being surprised at how much time has passed. I honestly don't know how this game slipped through my radar, especially since it was on Early Access.. I only found the game while browsing through the recent Endless Replayability feature/event that Steam had. And though it does have really good reviews on Steam, i do wish this game gets more attention than it currently does. It really deserves it.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Withering Rooms Is easily one of my favorite games of the year. Might even be my favorite so far, and It's A shame It might not ever get the recognition It deserves.
Im really loving this game. Cant wait to play more every night. But getting a bit scared too....accidentaly spoiled myself that I was nearing the end. I dont want it to end :( its so much fun. Might be my goty 2024
@@aaronatkinson177 just started playing that last night. And was just talking about it right before I got your notification lul. Its great so far. And enemies are really dangerous on hard
@@aaronatkinson177 Both Crow Country, and Signalis are fantastic! The latter being one of my favorite games of all time! I do have A review on It but I'm going to be honest. Not very happy with It since Its back when I first started diving into reviews. So might redo my review on It one of these days. As for Crow Country. I did A short 60 second review on It. But come October this year. I'll be playing A bunch of Survival horror games I've never played before like Alisa, and Tormented Souls for videos. So I'll probably revisit Crow Country on Hard Mode for A video that month. Heard It really takes the game to that next level.
I gave you a sub to show my support. I have a First Impression of this game, although only the Demo. I still did enjoy it! I missed my chance to get this on sale on GOG, so I'll need to wait again. Speaking of witch, is this on GOG or Steam that you are playing on? Are they identical? I noticed for the game size, GOG says 2 GB, Steam says 6 GB, hahaha. In any case, this was a stellar review, one of the best.
Appreciate It! I actually have only played It on Xbox Series X, and PS5. Haven't tried It on PC yet. But as far as I know. All versions are identical. I'm pretty sure GOG just handles files differently then Steam. That's why you get different sizes for the same games.
No voice acting In this one! Not sure If I would like It more or not with It. But the way It's presented without It. I feel really adds to the charm of the game.
