I've experienced betrayal in various forms in my life... looking back, those experiences point to the parts where I betrayed myself in the situation possibly leading to the betrayal by the other. People cannot betray you unless you've betrayed yourself first allowing the betrayal to come in to your sphere. It was easy to blame the betrayers because their actions were more evident but harder to see how I betrayed myself first (that was more of an internal psychic process occurring) leading up to the betrayal. Great video and awesome topic to discuss. It definitely restructures our orientation to life and in life. It definitely redefines others and our relationship to "other".

In retrospect, when I choose to totally disconnect from disloyal people, it’s usually well thought out over time. First I feel the uncomfortable emotions, next recall events that occurred and led to the uncomfortable emotions, make a decisions about what I want to do now, and then act. When I choose to disconnect from that person or business, my separation is complete. As a 65 year old INFJ, I don’t focus so much on the disconnect being Harsh. It’s well thought out as to why I no longer want that person or entity in my life. I close the door very firmly, and walk away.

Same here, very much resistance still going through with it. Backing out silently to avoid conflict and often times staying longer than healthy for me, just to be sure about my motives. Relationship, job, obligations. Restless thoughts about justice after moving forward won't quiet down unfortunately, always thinking how it could have turned out better. Eventhough knowing that there's nothing to gain from it anyway. Those people seem so blind to me, it's sad. They take making peace as a sign as being right in their actions and as weakness. Facts do not convince them, actions do not convince them, as they would rather be ignorantly right than knowingly wrong.

I found out about a betrayal at the very end of an 8 year relationship that was already ending. Almost wish I just made it through those last couple weeks without finding it out. It really put me into a 2 year period where I literally imagined a little computer updates bar running in my mind, slowly recalibrating my entire software and picking it all apart to figure out what to think about it all and what it meant about me and us. I had an 8 month period where I hardly even spoke because so much was processing internally, and I did have identity issues while figuring it all out. It was mentally a very rough process to go through.

Yeah, I always disliked those types of exaggerative videos. They seemed too self-serving. But I really like how you've explained the thought process of an INFJ when they've been betrayed. It actually makes sense and doesn't make us come across as these vindictive, cold and calculating machines of emotional destruction. 😂
