I put off watching it for far to long and my god it was a mistake.

What bothers me the most about this seties is people bitching about shinji. I reckon he acts just like someone in his age and position would, given the same circumstances. They see these zero to hero anime and just assume that every protagonist should be like that. Instead, you get immense character growth. Not just from him, but also rei and asuka

That’s not canon also all the evangelions are females (the Eva’s themselves not the pilots) it was just made for an add, also when an Evas core gets shot it’s get damaged and either awaken the Eva or harm it and the pilot greatly

Pacific rim was really just a love letter to mecha anime in my opinion

@@newkrepublicofitaly and your opinion is entirely accurate, Del Toro said he wanted to make a live action mecha anime, and wanted to ground it in reality, so he made a point of only using camera angles of the mecha that a person would see; ground level, maybe moving as fast as a car; and that’s what we see thru most of this scene too, human-sized shots that just let us appreciate the terrifying scale of these incredible machines, rather than the airborne cameras they used all the time in the pacific rim sequels, where the camera may as well be attached to iron man, for how quickly it’s flying thru the air, lol

Pacific Rim and Evangelion are different, you cant say either of them is better. Pacific Rim is a more entertaining movie for mecha fans, Evangelion is a more plot heavy movie, it is deep dark, more psychological, not a lot of people can watch it tho.

The two are completely different takes on the mecha genre though. No offense to Evangelion, but that shit can straight up get wayyyy too demented and depressing. Sometimes I just want to watch a mecha to see giant robots do cool things, not deal with any of Shini's shit.

Can we just enjoy something without having to compare it to others? Why do you feel the need to trash on Pacific Rim aside from it being mecha too?
