Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he develop one in the manga?

@@codyherio6909 It's been a while but if I remember correctly he adapted so he could still move, but it was in slow motion and only very briefly before he also froze. So resisting the cold could help in theory (as shown by Grey still moving) but clearly it's not as simple as "strong cold resistance = ignoring time freezing."

my only complaint with this fight, is that she had the ice cavarly (and the power boost) from the the start, which in character she never would do because she wants to enjoy a fight instead of trying to overwhelm her opponents from the get go, plus the only other instance we saw said cavarly being used was during the siege of the imperial capital, sooo seems kinda like they wanted her to win.

@@alucard0596 kinda, I can see where your going with this but I think the reason they did a straight up fight is because they cant focus on her tactical abilities since that alone would take way too much time to explain and not to mention animate. as for the cavalry I think its so they can use each characters strongest feats and show that it wasn't forgotten, if anything my main complaint is that she summoned the cavalry mid fight I call bs on that because that shouldve taken a ton of energy to make and wouldve left her feeling at least a little tired

@@refatbavbekov3862 never questioned the combat and strategic skills, just pointing out how bs the cavarly move was, both for having it at the start for no discernible reason (other than the whole making them fight at their strongest, which by itself is incredibly dumb since different verses have different power levels) and making it in the middle of the fight, although it seems to me that she just used the ones she already had, which if we rewatch the description and the pictures shown in the manga, she had several hundreds if not thousand.

Yeah in the series he literally fights a dude that uses better ice magic, named Invel. Invel is even like "Man your ice make magic is ass, it's like a child at a playground compared to my magic" And while he's impressed by his ice resistance for like 2 seconds, he proceeds to beat Gray's ass ONLY using his ice magic. When he reveals his devil slayer magic Invel's like "Oh hey that might be useful to me later, join us" Then Gray says no so he uses MORE ICE MAGIC to make him and his love interest kill one another or be trapped forever, and there's nothing either of them can do about it accept commit suicide. So yeah, I would say Gray CAN'T just eat any ice magic used against him, assuming he can do it AT ALL.

Considering Silver was shown eating ice there's no reason, other than bad writing, to say why Gray can't. Be like if Natsu fought another fire user and never bothered to eat their magic.

There's a big difference between resistance and outright immunity. Plus Esdeath's Teigu name is only in the anime so despite popular beliefs, it's not exactly demonic which Gray is strong against. Also, I think there was a Q&A in DBC that even if you remove both ice powers for both, Esdeath is still a proficient swordswoman as she can still fight without her ice.

I love JuviaXGray more than I love LevyXGajeel...but the latter seems to be the only one getting attention.

Grey only was able to cast a ice storm around whole country. While she can do that to a whole continent. Plus she is more creative than grey. She can sunmon army of soldiers and meteors. I don't see grey doing anything like that. No power of friendship in this fight.

You could not notice what grey did even if you standing on the moon. He only did it in the middle of the country which was the center are. Why you trying compare country to continent. The country that grey freeze was not that big you can see it in the manga and the anime. What she did was on different level that it didn't not just freeze the continent. It started spread out to across the sea too. Grey have nothing he can do to prevent her from stop time to kill him. Her power is not magic in the first place. So he freezing her power wouldn't work. Because is not magic that have mana to start with. She is not a fairy tail villain that give out speech instead of just killing the person. She would just stop time and cut his head off. You can scale how cold ice is properly and if that’s the argument you want to make Esdeath froze time so apparently her ice is colder and Esdeath reaches the Exaton range 16 Exatons at best death battle themselves said they lowballed Esdeath a bit but they said it didn’t matter since she still would win anyway with her petaton scaling 🤷

You forget. The MC of AGK had an armor that automatically adapts all the time. Punch him? Next time you ahve to punch two times as hard if you want the same effect as the first. Burn him? Next time the fire has to be even hotter. Of course the same goes for freezing. Here's the issue though. That adaptability never worked for Esdeath's time freeze. The time freeze shouldn't ahve been as effective after the every first time. But it was. That's because resistances and immunities dont matter with her time freeze.

No, she's MASSIVELY more powerful. She's also CONSIDERABLY smarter and more experienced than Gray in, every possible area. Even without stopping time she'd have PLENTY of time to stop his iced shell, cause Gray has attempted that spell LOADS of times, and he's NEVER managed to fire it off ONCE. Someone ALWAYS interrupts him it just takes way too damn long. If Gray could actually get that spell off against Esdeath, it means he already won the fight anyway. Gray, one on one, fought an Ice Wizard named Invel. Gray lost. Bad. Sure he came back after the loss, but he required a lot of help from Juvia to get the win AND Invel wasn't trying to kill him because he thought his demon slayer magic would be better used against END to help Zeref. He basically won by using his ice make magic to CONTROL Invel's ice, but he can't do that against Esdeath because her control over ice is WAY better than anyone we see in fairy tail. Like she can actually just straight up FLY by putting some ice on herself. Nobody else can do that, including Leon who specializes in making like ice animals that can actually move around. Yeah, it's Gray's loss.
