Hey so yeah i didn't really upload many videos lately and this time it's like something a little bit different - i hope you still enjoy it anyway - however thank you for watching !
I think you fight the power of big companies to subliminaly influence you with design and replace it with your own positive subliminal messages. Very well played!!
I have been enjoying your music posts, but thank you for making and sharing this, nice to hear from the person behind the synthesizers. I'm always inspired by a look into people's creative outlets. Great concept to improve your environment quickly and easily.
You should encourage and learn how to use your own design tropes that don't come from AI, I say this less because of the moral issues with AI, but more of the fact that it looks like actual trash ! But also i think if you're only using this stuff at home for private use, you might as well just use some actual human made art you find online that inspires you, most artists only care if you are reselling their art or using it to promote a product without permission not just printing it out at home, so if you already have a sticker machine and are using it at home you could just do that instead. AI is full of visual nonsense and reminds me of how things look with Disney characters slapped on them , cheap and easy "art" that still has that corporate yuck to it and a sense of general thoughtlessness that i think any handmade art that has vision behind it would be more beneficial to bring into your everyday view! I have realized this effect from having brands visible all the time , and i think it's good to make a conscious effort to curate and decide what you look at everyday since every label is inherently selling something to you. So i think it would be cool to take this idea to it's fullest and try and surround yourself with as much purposeful imagery as possible. The AI generated based on those vintage ads gives it a propagandist feel i think inherently tied with that era of advertising, so maybe that is why i feel that way, but nonetheless just something to think about
Hey i appreciate your input. i remember AI "Art" from a year to a couple of month back when you could barely recognize anything within the image - then fast forward to now and AI generated images are on a level where they almost always look kinda amazing on the first glimpse and then completly fall apart once you look at the details. i isometimes happen to look at a piece of generated image wishing it was made by a human because the compostition is just so abstract that i WISH there was some thought behind it and not a random accumulation of data - so i totally get the part about the soullessness of AI generated "Art" but on the other hand the felt emotions when looking at a piece of art (any kind of art and in fact any kind of media, object, content whatever) that are felt by the observer are real to the observer - doesn't matter what "triggers" them. It also happens with "real" Art - once the artist releases his artwork into the world - he has no influence about the sort of emotion and response their artwork provokes anymore. so therefor i feel that generating images definitley has a place in the artworld because otherwise it's just the old critique of the tools/effort that was put into an artwork again - like condeming the use of autotune in music or generally disliking modern art because of "lack of effort" i hope i could explain myself thanks again for your comment
This was great its documenting this neat niche thing you do. I relate to the corporate influence bit. My girlfriend will sometimes repeat ads or make references to ads and I had trouble articulating why that bothers me so much.
I’ve never heard or considered this kind of thing before! It’s so interesting, and what a fun way to curate your spaces and have some distance to the world. Especially the corporate/capitalist whatever you want to call it cacophony. What a healing concept and idea :)
Hey thank you ! The prompt i use most of the time is rather simple " Vintage, black and white lineart label depicting ... "Detailed description of what i want".... Spelling: "Word or Phrase i want" sometimes i add a random year like "ca 1929" or "ca 1965" and a made up company like "Shellfish Stock Inc" or whatever But just starting with "label" and "black and white" gets me pretty close to what i want
Hey i use a cheap thermal printer from AliExpress - the Brand Name oft mine is PeriPage but they are all the same - i paid around 2500 Yen for the printer which should be like 20 dollars. The paper i bought in bulk in a stationary shop 500 Yen for 30 rolls which is like 3 Euro and will last for a long time. They are also sold in aliexpress just search thermal printer paper and then for bulk options. Hoffe ich konnte helfen
This is great reason 1 definitely vibes with me the most. I customized the shit out of my apartment and now you gave me the idea to do so as well with the different items lying around. Thank you ^^
while watching the video i thought like: Yeah, this Video probably has like 300k views, but its just like 75 and i mean the video is way better than i would expect by a 75 views video! keep up the good work and maybe turn the background music a bit down.
No offense, really, but there is a 4th possible explanation that you might be on a neuro divergent spectrum and as you said there is no need to find a reason for it as long as its not harmful
I don't want to argue or anything, but I am genuinely curious: do you think that image generation is always bad in every circumstance? I have had a neutral or positive opinion of it by default, but I am trying to learn more about negative opinions on image generation to educate myself about different perspectives 🙏
Hey thank you for your comment i appreciate your input i totally get that there is a lot of resentment for AI "Art" - be it when it's being used to replace real Artwork by real Artists threatening their livelyhood or because the Art Generator has been trained on the Art of thousends of Artist without compensating them in any form. Still i think AI Image generators are here and they won't go away anytime soon. I feel my my use - silly as it is - is a good example for how you can use AI Image generators in a non threatening way - i would have never hired real artists to design Stickers for my Milk Cartons nor would i have the time to Design the Logos for hundreds of products myself - i just wanted to show a way how you can have fun with AI Images in a free/fun way that wouldn't have been possible/practical without it. Still your opinion completly remains valid. Thank you
