That's a really good idea from Elgin, adding an option to Lapu's Ultimate where he can cancel it whenever the players want to. I'm definitely going to try Lapu-Lapu again.
I think this would have a few drawbacks. The devs would have to think the following: - after ult cancel, the normal ult would need to have longer cd - if 2nd skill dmg reduc. would be removed after canceling or would persist - if normal skills will be reset after canceling or if they have separate cds. - this may also affect the passive blessings
The new passive adjustments is really good.He is not a broken fighter, but definitely an above average exp laner. With his new buff to bravest fighter ultimate,he can sustain a lot of dmg and buying more time during team fight.
His damage reduction, Extra Physical and Magic Def on his ult form and his shield passive allows him to survive most team fights. He can dominate in the early to mid game.
@@スガル Yeah, when your team composition is too squishy (For example your team picks a support instead of a tank) then might as well build Lapu-Lapu as a secondary tank.
Lapu-lapu has 15~75% damage reduction depending on hero hits (which its max is the highest in the game) plus with his buffed passive (and its shield) and ultimate CC immunity, making him a 1v5 champion in the Land of Dawn with all his perfectly-balanced kits. That hero makes me got most MVP even in previous versions, but became better thanks to his buffed passive. Edit: Fortunately, Elgin's recommended Lapu-lapu build has 40% CDR (same as mine)(besides his other build in-game) which means more passive spam due to frequent skill casts. Just follow these combo with this CDR build and you'll maximize his full potential: (before enhanced state) 2nd + 1st + ult + (within enhanced state) + 2nd + 1st + 2nd + ult + 2nd + 1st + 2nd + (enhanced state ends) 1st + 2nd(to chase of escape). When passive is available, then always use it first between this combos.
Really agree that he's a complete package as a teamfight hero. One thing to note though, his gameplay isn't the simplest ones and definitely needs a couple games to familiarize (as Elgin said in vid). It isn't from mechanic reason (his kit is simple after all), but rather from how much you can you push his limit. His playstyle is really close to Terizla, soaking dmg and deals burst dmg in return while spellvamp-ing from it. If you know Lapu's limit, you can then outplay your enemies even better (and believe me, he's such a slippery hero once you master his playstyle) or even turned a losing situation around. All in all, he's quite good hero to pick now definitely. Just takes 4-5 games to familiarize with his playstyle/feels and you're good to go. Although be aware that his power falls of on late game (as Elgin said), so avoid playing too reckless to prevent losing your crucial lives late game
@@Silvi28754 I guess they stack (?), but definitely counted multiplicatively (only half the amount get added), so for example, Queen's Wing's 20% dmg reduce will only add half the amount (10% only) to Lapu's built in 2nd skill's dmg reduce. As a note though, while it still stack, it really wasn't recommended since each of the dmg reduction HAVE CD (QW 40s, Vengeance 75s, Lapu's ones tied with his ult's CD). Also, since the amount of Lapu's built in dmg reduce is already high (even 3 hit grants 45% already), the value is just isn't as good as it sounds. I'd rather build armor or magres instead to complements with his built in dmg reduction.
@@Silvi28754 Hmm! Let me test it 1st in practice mode. Anyway, I watched the replay my previous Lapu-lapu gameplay, and I surprisingly found out that Vengeance is inherit spell vamp. I don't know if it's a random bug or a bug from game codes of Fredrinn's passive because we know that spell damage doesn't inherit overall lifesteal effect. It make me confuse why this vengeance+spell vamp bug in this replay works😅, hope they fix it.
Try to prioritize using his passive once it's active, he's now even sturdier in his ultimate form considering how he could activate his passive 3 times during ultimate if the passive is used right
Yup! I did it the same skill usage priority: passive > enhanced 2nd skill > enhanced 1st skill or enhanced ultimate It became easier to spam more passive if we build him with 40% CD reduction.
i think endless battle would work well bc if u need to use a basic attack to get his shield then he could also benefit frm the true damage giving him more dmg plus sustain (lifesteal)
@@justsay440 I only remember is his 2nd skill dmg reduction per hit(ultimate phase) got massively reduced before he can literally survive 1v5. Just hit two or more with his ult 2nd skill.
@@justsay440 if I remember correctly, he was often, if not heavily used in M2. He got a huge nerf right after the event. He was one of my main heroes back then because of his ability to one shot enemies with his Ult at the time. Then he got nerfed so I stopped using him.
What kind of buff is good for him though? I mean he's pretty complete so I can't think of any. Maybe Elgin's suggestion about ult canceling was good after all?
@@Unforgiving_Eye I would totally agree with both of what you said. My comment’s sentiment (“do not seem to be enough”) leans more on him not being in more matches nowadays
I've been using Lapu-lapu on exp for 2 weeks now. I was so eager to learn to play him. I reached m3 with Lapu-lapu alone, he works best with Atlas. His Ult+2nd Skill basically reduces damage taken by *15-75%* Making him nearly unkillable. Though I don't use him when there's so many free-hitting enemies
I usually agree to your recommendation that lapu lapu can revert to his original form just in case to escape, and also im glad to his latest buff he's getting better right now, Mizaki and the other pro player will use him in the pro scene soon
Now that's what you call, "no CC on 1st skill twin sword forme but in exchange, easier to activate passive in heavy sword forme". Also I think your idea of having a feature to revert heavy sword forme to twin sword forme anytime he wants is good. Yin also needs that kind of feature where his Lieh forme can also be reverted to his normal forme anytime he wants to.
Correction on his popularity: Lower ranks don't read patchnotes, they either see someone playing a hero or see their fav youtubers use the Middle rank read patchnotes and realized lapu is now top tier and easy to use High rank, they've seen good lapu players but feel like their own exp laner can beat lapu so they don't try him out.
Hi elgin it's me from the live chat thank you for entertaining everyone around the world for soo many times. And you help me through so many depressing and bad times of my life. Been a viewer of you since 5 years. This is my second yt account.
Apart from an option to cancel his ultimate, One other change can be to remove the delay from his skill 1 of the enhanced state. Most of the time its easy for the enemies to escape it. Using flicker can help that a bit but i use vengeance to complement his enhanced S2.
It's my first time seeing a weird image on the tumbnail, I mean Lapu-Lapu kind of created or drawn a, well... Never mind. 11:24 - 11:28. I think it's really good. 12:04 - 12:07. I think he's balanced 'cus late game is his weakness, and he is a full package hero 🙂. Thanks for the amazing gameplay Mr. Elgin 👌.
I use lapu lapu often before his revamp. But after the revamp i only use him once because whenever i use his ult, it become harder to chase enemies that have blink skill.
Lapu.x has 30-60 magic physic added while in ulti. Now he can sustain without def item. Plus 2nd skill for more burst def stats when you hit the enemy with it. Now his passive can now spam while in ulti he can obtain or stack more of his passive. That's why lapu is more sustain now than before.. blink is more suitable for his skills and passive. You must try him now cuz this is lapu time and his meta.
Even in the late game lapu lapu does not fall off that hard you just need some tweaks at the later part if you build full damage in the early maybe you can sell 3 of those and buy oracle + athena + dominance. With this you can still sustain and and the same time throw damage to the enemy, plus the best boots for lapu lapu is tough boots for optimum mobility since the enhanced 3rd skill is the only skill which gives him cc immunity
Some minor problems with LapuLapu If his first skill has adjustable range like Alpha ultimate his skill would be effective for close combat His ultimate second skill It has one of the highest damage reduction in the game but he need to hit a lot of enemies to get that maximum dmg reduction and if he doesn't hit anyone he won't get damage reduction unlike Martis, Aldous and Khaleed
The buff elgin suggested is necessary for yin Too It will be good if he can go back from lieh to yin when he is not in domain bcz even if he kill a hero in domain it’s hard to escape after But if they implemented this buff on yin,he can double dash and can and be a good fighter They should also make his 2nd skill dmg reduction stack able
Been a Lapu Player since 2019, way before the Revamp. He's the very first hero that brought me to Mythic, too. And it's SoloQ. Honestly though I didn't like them removing his 1st Skill Rage, I liked the new Ult Rage Gained but I don't know why 1st Skill Rage has to be removed just for this. I also had the same idea where you can cancel your ult just like Hanzo (2 button for 2nd Ult and Cancel Stance) or once you used the 2nd Ult, the button will be to revert to Dual Blade because it's in cooldown until you go back to Dual Blade anyway. But I'm afraid Moonton will think of a way to nerf him to compensate for that so I thought it's better to keep it like that.
9:39 I think most fighter type heroes are like a full package, nearly all of them have the dmg and sustain(regen or shield) However, tanking(def or dmg reduction), mobility and control are things that most fighters will be unique by Lapu lapu dmg is probably the least dmg tier in fighters(in late game), his cc is good but not the best, his mobility is barely mid cz of his ult, his tanking is very good, and his sustain too Heroes that have all the characteristics u mentioned are like Yu zhong, khaleed, and gatotkaca
I feel like lapu lapu has reached the same spot old Lesley was at. Straight up unusable against enemies with 1-2 defense items. Jack of all traits , master of none.
Using Hunter strike is better than using war axe. And yes you do gain physical penetration and physical attack and even movement speed, but that requires you to enter a fight or do damage until you get full stack. Even though he's a team fight and a prioritizes on killing back liner, you need to last long and deal decent damage while in a team fight. Luckily he got awesome sustain tho. The point is, using hunter strike grants you permanent physical attack and physical penetration and higher movement speed and it lasts for 5 secs. It only trades the hp bonus and I think it's not a problem for him cuz he already has big damage output when he uses his ult. Anyways those are the explanation in my opinion about Lapu-Lapu using hunter strike rather than war axe. Correct me if I'm wrong by the way. Thnks!
Here's tips : badang and lapu lapu ultimate can be cancelled by franco and kaja suppress cc so you can save your ally from being wiped out by 1 ultimate skill. Franco user now should be wisely using their ultimate skill instead of catching enemy
I'm Thamuz and Dyrroth main, but i quite often use him (Lapu Lapu) in rank game from legend to mythic since i knew his recent buff. His quite good to use now even though i really like that revert skill button for instant chase/escaping
I'm a multi-role player and I do use Lapu-Lapu as EXP sometimes, the only thing I don't like with his skills is when I've already used most of my enhanced skills, I can't go back to my basic skills manually unlike Valentina.
Over 3 k matches Lapu player speaking: I personally think that adding option for canceling his ult is just wrong cuz in team fight u can miss that button and left in team fight with no ult, adding 4 th skill button ( in his ult only ) to cancel would be better idea 💡, and u can adjust that button to separate a little further from other skills, or... adding 4 th skill button (in ult only) in form of a dash skill
One thing I don't like about lapu lapu is how he becomeuseless in the late without any decent initiator or proper tank item build, using him on a solo queue is sometimes a problem especially if you have a bad teammate who can't cover you up at the late game, this will cause the enemy to be able to make a come back and win. not saying this happen all the time but it does happen 30% of the time especially if the enemy have that broken slow and high damage effect to prevent lapu lapu from getting near them.
Still. The first version of lapu is better in term of mobility and strength . Plus U can put any type of battle spells and it doesnt matter, lapu will always outmove the opponents. After the reworks only flicker suits him. Before : failed to escape = tank Now. : failed to escape = instant death
The adjustment bout mobility doesn't make sense! Removing the slow was unnecessary. I think since Heavy Sword Stance limits his mobility, that needs a little rework. They can make his Heavy Sword Stance 2nd skill revert back to how it was before or make changes to stats or how things work in his kit. I recommend increasing his move speed while in Heavy Sword Stance and/or make him go to his Normal/Default Stance after using his ULTIMATE. That way he can have his 2nd skill to escape after and make him easier to use, since you would not need to think too much when to commit.
I remember he was in meta almost 2 years ago or something and was banned/prioritize often. Then he completely dropped out of meta despite not receiving any nerfs
all i can say is slightly buff hes non ult dmg thats all. hes pretty situational he can solo non fed enemies but cant stay long on fed enemy ganks. and yeah what you said about exiting ult is also true , he lacks mobility after hes in ult state. that would be a good use of utility.
Been using lapu pre revamp, first hero that led me to mythic. I still use him right now and I promise you that 90% (could be higher) of the time, I win my lane matches, whether it's against thamuz, chou, Guinevere, ruby, the one with dragon ult and many more.
The button you are saying is op for him. You are then making the hero again like devs where they create a hero with no drawbacks. That is Lapu's drawback. He is a snail that bursts. If there was something, it would be the damage multiplier on his ult. A x1.8 or 2.0 base on extra attack damage instead of x1.2 so you can die basic attacking an enemy and can build him multiple ways.
I'm good with previous lapu² and yet they decide to revamp it. Old lapu-lapu just need immunity when casting his ultimate and yet they decide to change it totally, not to mention they shortened all of his skill range
i think the realistic explanation in why his not popular in the lower rank elo is because of mizaki. His team expected him to copy the german cut popularized by him and they are pressure to do so.
Not sure if it would be a great deal if the cooldown with not reset. Although if you can pick and choose between the enhanced and normal 2nd skill like sun's 1st, it would be more dynamic.
i think they should just bring back his old ult 2nd skill where he spins and dash but still gaining damage reduction from each hit and just maybe they could bring back my favorite his old first skill in ult form the huge damage and slow his much better than his current slow paced stun that can be easily intterupted
I agree Elgin montoon should put that button whenever you need to revert his skills during enhanced skills.. BTW I love what montoon give consecutive buffs on my second main hero Lapu Lapu ❤️❤️❤️
Even with all the buffs, his kit is pretty well balanced to even be popularized or ban for xD sure he has the dmg cc Immunity like martis, but its not spammable as martis’. Yeah, he has a decent mobility, but not as crazy as the other meta fighters like martis and leomord. His durability is very good in teamfights, but atleast not to the extent that is way too ridiculous, enemies that have enough burst and cc can still kill him in the end. So in conclusion, he’s pretty-well balanced still even with all these buffs, it just makes some lapu2 mains feel good despite not being popular, his kit is good in the current meta but he isn’t absolutely broken like the likes of martis, and he can also do so well in teamfights tanking alot of dmg while dealing dmg. Tho he was already balanced to begin with so these buffs are just little treats to him xD
And his heavy sword mode ulti has crowd control immunity. I think Lapu2 is a complete package. Immunity, cc, damage reduction, low cd and destructive damage.
Its hard to cancel lapu lapu's skills when in ultimate . If his already being attacked, you have to wait till he finish casting his skill before you could run. Its hard to escape when his using ultimate.
Lapu is already been a top tier even without those buffs..but still the devs gifted him WITH 4 CONSECUTIVE BUFFS Then here's Yu Zhong crying in the corner on being nerf (each nerf was so big, especially the nerf in his passive and ult) multiple times since his release
That "cancel ult" is a good idea, but even then I wouldn't use Lapu at all... I'm not saying he's useless, but there are much better and more fun options like Ruby, Thamuz, Terisla, Esme, Barrats... He is not the sturdies, nor has that much damage, and isn't fast at bringing down turrets. Not much CC to help in late-game TFs... Not my cup of tea at all...
I prefer the old Skill set since he can still dash with his 2nd skill even in brave stance. They should have increased the animation speed on the old one. Sheesh I missed the old skill set
6:05 at this point this is why I always use sea healbred and Malefic Roar because of their healing and the defensive reduce but also more penetration damage 6:27 lie only the items will help out with the two items sea healbred and Malefic Roar
Lapu Lapu: 4 Adjustments that are buffs without a single nerf Granger who did not get nerfed or buffed for so long during his prime: "Look at what the Moonton devs are doing to mimic a fraction of my power."
Im lapu main. Almost 1k match in rank game only. Mostly solo que rank. In the mythic 2 n above game, u might wanna use petrify with him instead of flicker
Lapu is really just an overall good hero............if you have a good team unless you have a good squad lapu just can't carry a team i myself experienced this as i enjoy playing lapu as a solo player i usually play really well with lapu if i use often getting MVP but i just can't carry a team as lapu is too weak to carry a whole team solo And yes my opinion is actually valid as i have reached 780+ glory solo and 1300+ with my squad ac
2:26 This is by far the dumbest move in the history of Mlbb! Diving inside the whole of enemy team thinking he can save kaja was way to ambitious! Guys whenever you’re stuck in such situations always remember that one of your teammates dying is better than 2 heroes dying!
Lapu Lapu's current buff is really great but he need jut a little danage not larg little like very little to help herm kill the tank solo or team fight
