I have rarely ever subscribed to anyone on RU-vid but with Agadmator i watch every single video religiously and "like" them automatically. Out of all the hobbies i have who would've thought that watching videos of chess analysis by Antonio would be my exclusive all-time favorite. The chess community is very different from other things i enjoy.

For people asking why can’t king take pawn on h5 @ 11:00 - its because white replies with f4, now look at the black king, he has no squares left except the h file and Rh2 will be check mate. U can play exf4 but then white replies with exf4 and now the threat is Rh2 check mate again. To prevent this, you will have to give up your rook as black by playing Rg6+ and then white replies with Bxg6. There is no other way to prevent check-mate if you take the pawn on h5.

Surprised you didn't comment anything about the Qb6 move at 16:58. It seems so much better to me to take the queen trade, and after Rxd7 you can play Rxa4 and the position looks much better than what we get with Qb6. I thought I was missing something so I ran it through the engine, and even the engine favors Qxd7 over Qb6 by almost a full point.

I will say this...from the chess I've seen over the past 3 years or so I'm very surprised by the result of the game between Gukesh and Giri. Giri seemed to be trending every slightly down over the past decade and Gukesh has been playing like he was shot out of a rocket the last 3 years. Great win for Giri.

Hans Niemann = next Bobby Fischer - Wesley So = current Bobby Fischer - Bobby Fischer's ghost = old Bobby Fischer - Beth Harmon = Bobby Fischer in another universe Each of these 4 'is a prodigy, had a rather dark childhood and is American'. Speaking of Wesley So Hikaru's (the rapid WFRCC) wife almost beat Wesley So's (the classical WFRCC) girlfriend! 2023 USCC - Indeed Carissa Yip won and thanked Wesley So as her secret second in the 2023 USCC closing ceremony speech. But in Carissa vs Atousa, Carissa was losing most of the game. Atousa just blundered in the end. move 54 for black is an 8-move equality puzzle it's so sharp [Variant "From Position"] [FEN "1Q5k/3r1rn1/p3N3/Pp1p2P1/1q2p3/1B2R2P/5P2/6K1 b"] 1... Kh7 2. g6+ Kxg6 3. Rg3+ Kf6 4. Nxg7 Rxg7 5. Qf4+ Ke6 6. Qh6+ Kf5 7. Rxg7 Rxg7+ 8. Qxg7 Qxb3 PS xcdhgq #suggestion #womeninchess #uschesschamps #uschess #uschesschamp #uscc

I think what's becoming abundantly clear is that whoever wins the Candidates and even the "World Champion" has very little or even nothing to do with who is actually the best player, and that is going to hurt the FIDE brand in the long run. A much better metric is rating, as it is mathematical and accounts for all games rather than a performance snapshot. Ding is World Champion, but literally everyone knows he's not the best classical player, so no one really cares.
