For anyone who wants him smiling in the picture, superman didn't smile in mos and returns reveal suits, and if he smiled in the pic then many would trash talk it for him cracking a smile while the city is under attack

The picture is typical of James Gunn. Remember his stuff from Guardians of the galaxy was all album covers and old school photos . I think they should have put him on a building in the sun so it looks more like Superman. I think it's a low budget and a bad decision on Gunns part .

Let me correct you on that. Zack snyder didnt really make his own logo. He took earth 2 crisis Superman emblem and implemented it in his version of super.

Here is the Deal , James Gunn had already created a ton of bad will when he fired Henry Cavill. Then he hired David Corenswet who is Henry Cavill light . Then he promised that Superman would be what David Zaslav wanted a Hopeful and upbeat Superman. So you tell me whats Hopefull and Upbeat about this photo. He looks like the guy that sittng on the edge a his bed in a E.D commercial. The Fans are only going to give him one shot the get this movie right .So For the first reveal Gunn should have came out the gate trying hard to win the fans over by putting Cornswet in a classic costume and in a dramatic superheroic pose That makes him look like the second coming of Christpher Reeve

Well we don’t know what the scene is anyway he could actually literally be changing his clothes at light speed while the beam is just still in the background and then he flies off to take care of whatever he has to take care of. This seems to be anything I think everybody should just relax and calm down at least till they see the first trailer. Everything always looks different when it’s an actual motion. This is only a shot so let’s see what happens. He looks tired. He looks exhausted. The suit looks like it’s dirty so maybe he’s already been in a fught. They just called him and he’s like I’ll be there in a little little while and that little while is him changing his clothes at light speed and that’s what this scene is. Let’s see what happens. I've been super supportive of this movie but I gotta be honest, I'm not AT ALL a fan of this new suit... I'm not a fan of the reveal overall. I was hoping for an optimistic golden hour skyscraper first look, not a PNG blast in the middle of the night. I'm waiting for that second look to come and fix the damage that this image has potentially done

Bottom part looks good, top part looks cheap and cw. I just hope the special effects are as good as man of steel. i felt the power and weight of the kryptonian strenght in that movie, it felt immersive, hopefully it doesnt feel fake and plastic in this movie, but heavy and you feel the power

Compared to the Kingdom Come suit Routh wore, this is garbage. Why didn't they just use the suit from the CW show which looks better. I don't want to hate on things but the more I look at this, the less I do like it. I prefer the original classic design with classic logo. I want to give this movie faith but I have very little of it. I will hold off my actual opinion until there is a trailer. My favorite costume of all live action is a tie between Chris Reeve and Dean Cain.

You’re tweaking just a little bit. I agree the suit looks horrible but the OG Superman suit was not on a low budget. That was top quality cutting edge technology at the time it was made. It was a big budget film.

C'mon the color palette is way better than MOS. However I'm still puzzle about the costume design choice in which this is not a traditional skin tight suit but more of a regular suit with rather tick texture based from his sleeves & wears loosely coz it is too thick to wrap tightly on to his body which bear the question; is David Corenswet really work hard to build up his body? Probably yes but may not be necessary as commited as Henry Cavill coz the suit itself may not required base from the design concept. You might be surprise to see his red trunk turns out to be somewhat short pant rather low cutting edge much like from the "All Star" comic. Basically he is wearing a GOTG suit with Superman color theme to blend in. Hence this Superman may not need to look as muscular like a bodybuilder nor majestic as how Henry Cavill depicted. He just need to look like he's wearing an alien tech suit which ends up like a motorcross racing suit. I didn't hate it but I didn't like it either. Will see how it play out. The only Superman suit I hated most is from SR which is completely disastrous.

There is no one Canon logo for Superman he has been around for 85 years there have been multiple renditions of logo but according to you Christopher reeves logo is canon. This whole nostalgia kept us having from any good Superman movie for 50 years.
