Good day John, this has been sensational to watch, I've listed 6 items to invest in one being the cup burr, I have been looking through endless burr's trying to find one as I forgot the name when I saw it in someone else's video some time ago so when you came out with it name and all I was so happy I also have a digital caliper due to be delivered I hope tomorrow which I am excited about. So I will watch this video many more times and continue on with your other's. You explain things and demonstrate them with such ease and perfection making each video a true pleasure to watch and helping the learning process as you make it so enjoyable. Thanks again for all the great information yesterday, taking your time to reply meant so much to me oh and your work is extraordinary I hope to be like you one day. Take the best of care and see you in another video, have a great week. Yours sincerely Danny 🤝🙋♂️🇺🇲
I have always used chain nosed pliers to set stones, after watching this video I went out and purchased a set of the setting pliers wish I had done it ages ago
There are many videos on you tube on how to set stones, however this one is without exception the best of them, clear concise no B.S. any first timer would be happy to have a go using this tutorial. If I may be so bold as to add a suggestion when using the hart burr as a beginner reverse the rotation of the flexshaft , not ideal but it gives a less grabbing effect Interesting that I am watching this during a break from setting six sapphires in six ring for a mate to give as Christmas presents.
Honestly, I doubt that our cameras would be able to film the process well enough to see how to do it. You might want to look around for a video by another presenter on that topic. : )
@@seanrucker5453 look up 'the diamond setter", or soham harris, "at the bench", jewelry training solutions, or look up micro settings. At least one of these channels show how to set small stones, if not all. I think they do. Just can't remember. But i do know they are very good informative channels when it comes to metal smithing and stone setting etc. I learned so much when i first began.
Crystals can be set into jewelry just like diamonds. You might want to review the Swarovski website to see how their designers incorporate their crystals into various designs. 😀
20 years ago, I bought a set of 10 pairs of fake diamonds of 1cm diameter in sort of a tin can setting. 10 pairs for 10 EUR. They might melt in the sunlight…. Exactly what I need to practice setting !
Hi Stella, I haven't published a book. But thanks for asking. There are many good jewelry instruction books available. I'm sure you'll find many that interest you. My suggestion is to check them out at the library before you buy them. : )
The OJA does not have a video specifically on that topic. However, if you log onto our website you will find a section of multiple videos that address how to solder your projects. 😀
