the grandma thing is a bit sad as well because it's implied the toy box uses the host's most treasured thing to do the killing, like the first girl her family was strung up by puppets and the second one was bitten by spiders. the toy box used Good Boy to go killing because he's grandma's favourite thing

I always like the “drawn” artstyle of games. Horror games aren’t usually scary, but occasionally, like this, they are unique. And this one is pretty unique. Awesome!

I thought there was going to be an ending where you used the knife for its intended purpose and cut the cake with it.

I don't say this often, but that portrait at 17:27 is the most Billy-looking child I have EVER seen.

I thought the third ending would be avoiding the Knife and just going to the kitchen. But dang the kid really is a good boy for that.

I didn't notice until this video but I really appreciate how you announce what you're doing instead of just dryly reacting to everything. It's great because i'm not going to miss out on any context when I look away or go into another window for a few seconds. Nothing's more irritating than hearing an "OMG THATS SO COOL" then you gotta scroll back 5 seconds to find out what you missed.

Got to say, really didn't think the true villain, the secret puppeteer, was going to be some kind of evil spirit possessing the toybox. That surprised me as much as there actually being an ending where you defeat it, even with the necessary sacrifice. Brave kid, doing that to keep his mom, grandmother and cats safe.

That's such a cool art style. Just goes to show that if you can't afford the best graphics, go for something that really stands out rather than just making another PS1 game.

If the game dev is here, if you want to make the text easier to read I think a text box would be helpful. You probably were going for a different way to display text but im not sure you can pull it off with the monochromatic color scheme? This is such a beautiful game tho. I'm in love with the style and the 3d look. It stands out to me from other designs I have seen so keep at it!

This game had its flaws, but i think the concept is really cool (for example the heartbeats that you constantly hear are supposed to be the heartbeats of the demon), and the artstyle is unique!

Thumbnail reminds me of the game Calm Time, where you run around stabbing everybody because it's a reverse horror game where YOU are the monster.

I saw him enter the room with the cat and felt all 5 stages of grief all at once.

Digging the art style. 2D objects, hand-drawn at that, on 3D game are always refreshing to look at, and the atmosphere lends itself pretty well. Font choice and text speed could use more work, though. White font on (mostly) white background is just... no. Either outline the texts with black borders or put dark background behind them. A wee bit grammar mistakes here and there, but they don't detract from the experience too much. Overall, solid game! I severely hoped that the cats were the true antagonist in ending 1... Finding out they're just normal kitties and seeing them get stabbed hurt my soul. Anyway, nice gameplay as always, Manly!

As long as Grandma doesn't do a sexy dance on a grave....thinking back on it, that was a really weird movie. Reminds me of that SCP where when we die, we're aware of every. single. bit. every bit of flesh, as it rots and we feel it ALL. Which is exactly what that zombie torso they interrogated talked about. Again, REALLY weird movie.

How did they not add an ending where you use the knife to cut the cake?

"Let's not go towards the red room. Red room is scary." Said the person who plays horror games like it's his routine.

I really love the hand drawn art style, which reminds me somewhat of the surreal landscapes of German expressionist films such as The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. It makes you feel as if you are in a children’s book. Mom and Grandma look flat rather than three dimensional, which adds to the children’s book effect. The black and white pallet creates an atmosphere that is quaint, charming, eerie, and ominous all at once. The use of occasional color is very effective because it draws out certain emotions in the player. A scene I found especially beautiful was the ending in which blue and red coloration flashes into the house, creating a netherworld aesthetic. The atmosphere made the game truly moving at times. Something I find interesting is the potential backstory of the game. What was the boy’s family dynamic like? He wouldn’t just stab his cats and mom out of the blue, especially when he had a birthday cake waiting for him. It seems like the grandma must have been coaching the boy about the need to offer blood to her master for a while, gradually warping his psychology to the point where he was willing to be a killer. The mom is oddly upbeat in spite of this, making me wonder how much of this dynamic she knew about. It seems like she would at least have noticed something was ‘off’ about the boy and his grandma, but she doesn’t seem to show it in the game.

Manly always delivers content exactly when i'm looking for something to watch 👌🏻

This is really cliche but lately manlybadasshero has been a huge comfort to me. Watching horrible scary things with a soothing voice over it really makes me feel better about my own life, I mean, in all these games people are being tormented or killed and the worst thing I have to deal with is a divorce. His videos just make me feel better lol

Night of the Living Dead zombies are probably the most terrifying ones. They can speak like proper people, move fast and don't hesitate to any disturbance, like they still have functioning thought. Love stuff that pay homage to that bit of "Send more cops." lol

so you know that one tiktok of a cat walking towards a lady as she sings “here comes the 💞boy💞, hello 👋🏼boy!!! 🎶welcome~ there he is!! he is hereeee❤️” that was stuck in my head and i was singing it around the 7 minute mark and by 7:36 when i saw what was happening, i unconsciously went “here comes the 🖤void🖤 hello 🕳void🕳”

I know I'm late on this, but as someone who's played a lot of Wraith: The Oblivion, I saw 'grandmaw' and went 'Well, this isn't gonna turn out like the good boy is hoping'. (Grand-maw, sometimes called Grandmother, is... well, pretty much what the floor turns into in the second ending.)
