That was a great bit with Sara talking to you. I wish my Tessie would talk to me. Instead she just huffs and puffs and expects me to figure out what's bothering her....she needs to stop hanging out with my wife! Love the vid and i want the photo.

Thankful for the Dorman Company offering inexpensive replacement parts for us guys that choose to keep our old vehicles going. I have a 1999 K2500 classic, 2000 Express 3500, 2006 Silverado 1500 4x4 and my wife drives a 2006 Trailblazer 4X4. All these vehicles have served us well. Between Dorman and LMC Trucks I’ve managed to keep them on the road.

As usual, great stuff from you. I did all of mine at the same time, even the tail light housing. I also replaced my sad third brake light to a new LED unit. Except for the third brake light, I got all the lenses and housings from 1A Auto. Excellent fit from their parts and I'm really happy with them.

Thank you for making your videos!! At the beginning of the month I bought a 1996 Chevy Tahoe, which ended up being a lemon. I have a very limited income, but thanks to your videos I have been able to work on it myself and I'm working on getting it safe and legal to drive for me and my children. I installed a cheap set of eBay lenses. Lasted 6 months. Hazed over, the light pattern SUCKED! Reinstalled the old lenses, now I can see the road again!

I took mine out the morning after the first night drive I took with them. Couldn't see sh*t. Supposed to be projection lens with LEDs. They refracted the light more so than projected it. Gave them away. Cleaned up the stock ones and put them back in with new Halogens.

Those lenses make your truck look brand new. They also have a great sense of humor. I did this same thing to my truck recently. One of my park light lenses was falling out and they were both very hazed. I got new lenses and amber LEDs. Really perks it up!

I replaced all OEM lenses on my 99 suburban last year, and in a few months the lenses look far worse then what the 20 year old OME parts did🤷🏽‍♂️, keep an eye on them Jimmy, $16 doesn’t go a long way!

I’m usually OEM as much as possible but these were too good to pass up. Plus, Dorman makes some good parts!

Rustolium makes and anti-UV clear spray. Seems like you need to reapply every year or so but it does slow the oxidization damage down.

@@1RoadGarage DoorMen is so much like OEM that many of my parts come from this company. Hell is even well made then OEM I have compared many parts. Hey Jimmy since you have a talking Sub now all you my need is a Strobe lights with Disco ball inside the Sub and let's not forget the Foam Dice 🎲🎲

Nice work Jimmy. I replaced the turn lamps on my suburban with LEDs. So much brighter . BTW I don't really want the picture of you but I wouldn't mind a picture of Farris though.

I did the same thing to my 2004 suburban, we live in AZ and out here plastic lenses don't last unless you protect them but nothing compares to a brand new part. I want the picture.

New lenses can be sprayed with UV protestant spray. Rustoleum and Maquires both have them.

I wish you could post pictures in comment section. I did same thing to my 06 H3 Hummer. I even upgraded the lens all vevo LEDs back to front. Headlights are regular but upgraded to best they had. Sylvania's. I choose not to LED the headlights. Looks so much better than before. Fog lights as well.

My grandparents got me new headlight lenses for my car, an '03 Malibu that I named Molly, last Christmas, $40 bucks for both of them and they came with bulbs, not only were they cloudy but one was replaced without the other being replaced and the rubber was falling apart on the older one, they don't fit perfectly but it's good enough, I also put in a relay kit for them that keeps the low beams on when you hit the high beams and it works perfectly.

Love your videos, good info also. You need to changed them to led , and also you need to change the pig tail. I have 2004 expedition and all the plug ins i changed them and add led and made alot differwnce.. becauae plastic get dry out and halogen bulbs produce to much heat..

I’d recommend looking for a adjustable flasher module and going to Led S/T/T lights! It’s easier on your electric system and brighter

Hey Jimmy IDK about the turn signals but for the headlights there are manufacturers that sell glass lenses and they are sweeeeet and will never fade.

First thing I did when I bought my '93 Chevy G20 van was get a new set of tail light lenses and turn signal lenses from Rock Auto. They were so hazy. Then I got rid of the crappy sealed beams and installed a set of LMC Truck clear housings w/LED bulbs. 92-95 Chevy vans had the same 4-light system as the earlier Chevy trucks.

I prefer the running light lens to be clear with switchbacks and converted over to daytime running lights.

You should use switchbacks for the lenses you replaced. They have a nice white/blue led day time running light and switch to amber when you turn your blinker on. I have a 2005 Chevy trailblazer and they have worked beautiful for almost a year now. No hyper flash either

Check RU-vid. The 3M and Sylvainia kits work the best. Pretty strait forward. You'll need masking tape and a drill driver.

I keep having problems with the side marker lights filling up half way with water. I got a new set and it is still happening. Am I missing something or is there a better fix to the seal on the light socket that I can do to keep ou tff all tha moisture?

Since I am also a proud owner of a white Suburban and would place it in my garage with the other photos of SubLander I sure this family tree will be a time to remember. Every time I pass by looking at the pic's looks like a family member is missing. Bought two sets of those"cheap" ebay sets. One for my '94 burban the other for my pops '93 sierra. Been about two + years still looking crystal clear. Just recently bought a '95 sierra and it already had aftermarket lenses for the parking lights. Went ahead and bought another ebay set for the headlights. But theses are actually glass so we'll see how long before they cataract.

I replaced the fogged headlight housings on my '01 Passat with Angel Eyes, and the car doesn't look like a old beater anymore. Unlike your 4 screws, I had to disassemble the nose of the car from the fenders. They still are terrible about illuminating the road very far ahead--by design-(VW calls that "a feature"), but man, they look clear, shiny, and sharp. :D

Biggest trouble with Amber (my 03 Saturn) is that they don't make cheap parts for her anymore. I elbow grease my way to a clear headlamp and 6-12 months later they're just as bad. At this rate i won't have any plastic left to sand down!

The lens may be clear... but the reflective pattern isn't like the OEM piece and the output of light actually looks less. Use some Meguiars metal polish on the OEM ones and they'll look as good as new 👌🏼

Hi Jimmy nice video. Take the old lens and wipe it down with WD40, no need to polish it, the WD40 will do an amazing restoration. It wont be perfect but it will be as good as polishing it and be good for a spare. BTW how far from Knoxville are you at the new homestead. We might be neighbors. I am about 30 minutes from Knoxville.

dormann makes good products. I got door handles for my son's 95 honda that honda doesn't make anymore. They are better than the OEM.

Yeah the cloudy and oxidized look drives me nuts .. as of now my truck should be red but oxidizing has it looking pink gotta sand it down soon ... I'd gladly take you and Sara's picture . Peace brah
