How would you go about finding a good drum teacher in your local area? Music store bulletin boards? There has to be a life hack here

I'd look at Google and then FaceBook. Depending on your area, you may not find a teacher, though. In-person teachers are ALWAYS the best option. But if you can't get that, platforms like Drumeo are great. You could also try one-on-one Zoom lessons.
