Really do need to make the trip out there. Still stock minus a CAI and CBE and on SAE made 590/581 which apparently is more than most. Track temps are to high for my liking though. No matter what I need better cooling for the oil then maybe the coolant and SC. Maybe a little tuning also but not a must for what I’m doing.
I mean to be fair my 2650 zl1 with no other cooling mods saw similar if not better overall mats. I agree the thermal runaway was exaggerated, BUT the maggy is superior when it comes to cooling. My mats cruising would only ever be 10 to 20° above ambient and hit maybe 120 130 if it was really hot out after some highway pulls. The track with letting it cool down for like 45 mins would go down at like 130ish and drop thru the pull. Again no hx meth or ice tank with this. Stock blower is a very impressive and capable unit but IMO the maggy is worth every penny especially if you plane to make big power later.
I was in the shop two days before, in shop temps where around 103F, it has been this hot all week(Maryland). I have a stock blower and see around 10 above ambient also. My temps actually go down during pulls and settle back to 10 above ambient. The 2650 doesn't truly shine until you strap it on top of a 427cui. You need more air shoved into those larger rotors to break past the extra work it takes to spin them. On Stock cubes(376), it's just not worth the efficiency loss or $5k price over a $1,400 X-Port.🤷
@adamgriffin and what cooling mods do you have? I assume lots and lots of meth to keep the stock blower cool. Also my car made 800whp on 93 with a small cam and a 2650 making only 14 lbs of boost mind you this is stock unported heads too. I suppose you could argue the science of boost and how it's measured but the maggy is barley working to make that compared to spinning the stock blower wildly to make 20lbs of boost. I just don't understand the new maggy hate band wagon. It's a great blower and solves many issues while also looking great and being insanely reliable. After 20k miles I had zero issues and actually just recently had kong port it and the inside look great. If you have the means it's absolutely a very worth while upgrade. Plus people just seemingly forget you can sell the stock blower which after all the extra cooling mods you need to match stock maggy temps ur almost at the same price except for now you are future proof to 1300 even 1400whp in some examples
@@adamgriffinplenty of 2650s on this Channel with stock cubes making 1000 wheel with over 800 rwtq … The c7zr1 has a 2650 as well …. Just watched the latest race (can I be frank ) 416 w a 2650 …. Race a stock lt4 with full bolt ons … both those cars tied each other … Don’t sit here and say you need a 416 for the 2650 Blower to shine …that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard … and this channel is proof you don’t need a 416 to push a 2650 properly UM NO that’s opinion buddy… I’ve seen 376 CI motors do there job fine
@@mach183 The stock LT4 also had nitrous, so... Look, Kong does some amazing shit with the x-port. Was amazed the first time I saw one cranked up to 20+ psi and how much power it put down. But at those power levels, you gotta be thinking about a big ice tank, meth, something, cause it will run hotter than a 2650 doing the same power at 3-5 psi less. For a stock block LT4 in the 800-900 whp range, I do think a 1.7 x-port would be a better choice for most people, especially with a little cooling help.
Maggie 2650 is superior. Needing a big motor is a myth. People forget that the gt500 and the c7 zr1 use 2650 blowers and make much greater power right out of the box bone stock. Lt4 blower was designed .at a compromise and not with performance being top priority. They shrunk the blower down as much as they could to fit under the c7 z06 low hood.
I wish I knew about you guys when I had my 07rcsb 4x4 lq4 L92’s custom grind and a shitty meth kit. Mind you this was back in the year 2009. You all will be my new shop for life real soon!
@@JohnQ-i4t again dyno is a tool dynos are dynos, you will always get different results from one to the other who cares about the final number care more about the actual gain
Another badass video guys!! Speakin facts on everybody out here! Luv it!! Badass ZL1!! Would love to see a C7 Z06 A8 with same mods!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲💪💪💪 Whens the camera man selling his little shitstang and getting a big boy car?!😏
I’ve never seen something beat over and over…. We get it. There’s prob no less than 7 reasons why the MAT isn’t extraordinarily high but yeah….got it bro. Got it.
Must be that New New Xport or idk what. The V3 yall did for me 2 years ago... same everything as this car plus cam and heads the MAT/IAT's seem to climb pretty bad.
There's definitely a lot of tuners out there but really dont know how to tune.....a friend of mine tuned a stock hellcat redeye with cat back exhaust and made 800hp and 841tq on a hub dyno and i saw shops doing pulleys, cam, exhaust and getting 810 to 850hp....so its all in the knowledge of the tuner and keeping at a safe tune that is also reliable....great video
After owning an lt4 blower setup that I dogged the fuck out of, I will say.. I had an upgraded aluminum z06 exchanger, an ice tank, meth injection and 2.35 upper. After one run you’d have to let it cool off a while or it would start getting over 130* IAT.. and pulling timing
We have this setup on bunch of our customers cars videos at both Cecil and MIR on here. Orange ZL1, Blue ZL1, Del’s white ZL1 before we did heads cam etc
It’s the tuner he’s a smart guy he knows owe what the car want and need not what you need that how the cars operate. You remember Tokyo drift when they were tuning Lila car and she said it’s not right and they it’s not her it’s her driving they said well we’re done here it’s what the car wants always you gotta learn the car not the other way around applaud to this tunner that’s why I trust my tuner 747 garage and Justin white they both great tuner.
Hi guys , awesome work you guys do. I'll be hitting you guys up shortly. First go-round like to buy your meth kit trunk mount export supercharger and the upper pulley.
I'd like to ask a question, for my education, honestly. I'm not trying to participate or make an innuendo about a 2650 being better or not. Does a 1740 NEED the meth, and trunk tank (no ice in your demonstration) in order to hold MATs? My simple 2650-combination (I did it for specific reasons which aren't relevant) drops MATs over several degrees on a 40-100 hit, regardless of ambient temps' without meth' or a trunk tank. I'm pushing 16-18-psi, and am a stock long block. The only cooling mod' outside of OEM is a thicker HE (same core width and height). I'm only trying to learn 👍
@@LateModelPerformance I want this for my bone stock ctsv v3. I'm in Canada with no e85. Can I get these parts from you plus meth and get similar power?
Welldone guys ... ppl love to talk shit always... Now lets see what they will come up with to pick on now🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️they got no idea that's all... keyboard warriors 😅😅😅
they’re a shop that builds cars worth a damn, theyre not entertaining this generation of hot boys that want to bounce off a rev limiter hard parked at the mall.
This is bullshit . The car has meth that cools intake air temps . Run it with no meth and let me see intake temps . Put a bigger pulley on until it doesn’t need the meth to support fuel system .
So you’re going to pay $8k for a 2650 and not do meth… 😂 they even said it’s a direct comparison to the other car with a 2650 and meth. You clearly missed the point. Also a car at idle is NOT spraying meth…
@@RyanThModderso because your setup isn’t right it’s the stock blowers fault? Slapping a 2650 on it won’t make it better. You need a proper setup to get the most out of a 2650.
