Ms Helen I enjoyed your videos back before when you just used your basic equipment and nothing to fret about especially peoples comments. Your first videos were down home simple and so intimate as if we were sitting with you in person drinking coffee with you. I miss those days and don’t really watch much any more because of all the stress it seems to cause you dealing with equipment. I still give all your videos thumbs up and love you!
I agree with you. Let’s reset and go back to the way things were, they were much better anyway! Ms. Helen you’ve done this just fine before, you do not need a live chat. It’s confusing for everybody. We can see you and hear you.
I agree. In all the years I've been watching Ms. Helen whenever she has come across something that's not quite working out she sticks with it until she finds a way to make it work. I Love her determination❤!! We are always here for you sweet Ms. Helen
Miss Helen shouldn't worry about the numbers how far above average on the YT scale. She is loved dearly for who she is and how she used to do her videos. Forgive me for saying but it seems that the focus has become more in how big a person can get on YT these days. I know Miss Helen never worries about such things, but she is truly stressed out by live streams, reading comments and not doing what she loves best. Her wonderful projects. God Bless Miss Helen your so loved for just being you. ❤️🙏
Love spending time with you Miss Helen. You know, you were feeling so fussed and upset you couldn't greet us with your usual "Gooood morning! I'm Helen from Georgia. Here's my coffee and here's a cup for you" The thing was, we could see you beautifully. It was a perfect transmission and we could see everything just fine. You absolutely DO NOT need to interact with us during your live streams. We are here to listen to you and your stories, see you and your peaceful place, your gardens, your woods, any art that you'd like to do. Take some deep breaths before you begin and remember - we are here and interested in YOU and your life. Not in chatting live. ❤️
EXACTLY!! I found this really hard to watch. It truly bothered me how upset she was, but I’m still in the very beginning of the vid. Vibrating the commons it sounds like she may be got it figured out. But two hour videos are too long for me to watch so I can never stick around all that time anyway I could sure see her good and hear her fine, and I sure do ABSOLUTELY agree with your comment! Helen’s persistence is absolutely delightful! I can say that much!! Have a great day! Nan, from Illinois 😉
I'm in my 50 and you do better than me. Try to not beat yourself up, too much. I love your humble and human nature. I would much rather be watching you any day of the week vs some of what the rest of the world calls "entertainment". I enjoy you and thankful you invite us all to be a little part of your life. It means as much to many of us as it means to you. Big hugs and God's blessings be to all the people that you touch. Much love!
If you get sick and then are recovering, you lose some self-confidence. It's not really giving up and is very frustrating to feel helpless. If you feel dizzy or weak, then that is a big fear of falling. We all go back and forth as a kind of self-protection. Some people have never heard that they did something of value. That helps too. Everybody is different but we must all have talents as women. Survival is important too. Life forms you but your health forms you with a greater unexpected force. It's all pretty serious. Some people prefer to get waited on and get used to it, like kids do. Some others need to feel like heroes helping you. Complicated isn't it? Helen is doing good. We get unsure in new situations. We can talk to ourselves about being strong but everybody can be glad to have offers of help. That's all pretty normal.
Ms Helen you make me laugh. A lot of people, of all ages, would never try the things you do. I'm about 20 years younger but we're just the same on a lot of things. You are a blessing.
Sweet Helen just go back to when you came out with your coffee on your own and did your crafts 💕I loved those videos you always look so stressed now dalin xxx just you do what YOU find easiest xxx love you 🇬🇧xxxxx
Dear Helen, looks as thou Captain Hodges will live another day ! I know you had a time getting started on your video; but, I was impressed with your patience and determination. Your "never give up " attitude is an inspiration to me. You are such a joy and delight to many. Look forward to next time. Take care.
Miss Helen, I do believe that whoever talked you into all these new things to use for your videos, didn't do you a favor. You did so much better before doing it your way. I love you and always enjoyed what you talked about or did. Even the walks around your yard. I hope your Delima is figured out. Bless you Helen..
I agree Miss Helen. Why not just do simple little videos on your own when you feel like it? what we enjoy is YOU! :) I think your subscribers would return. the Live is all too much. I love you and want you to feel less stressed. As far as the rooster situation yes ma'am I had chickens and a rooster and he was terribly mean as well. I gave him away in Craigslist and told the man I didnt care if he made a soup out of him! 😂they can be mean. Im sending up special prayers for you and may the peace that passes all understanding rest upon you in Jesus name. May God bless you and lead you in Jesus name. Take care, Love Maggie in SC🌻
I agree, I loved the way you did your videos before. You were being yourself and was more relaxed then. The technology of today can be so overwhelming. I wish you would just be your old self and enjoy yourself and not be so upset and nervous. I haven’t been watching very much since you changed. It is upsetting to see you get so upset. You are loved for just being you, take care of yourself and be you!❤️
Sorry I missed your live this morning. I watched the replay. Ms.Helen you did a great job. Please don't worry about others think. I hate when you worry about things that doesn't matter. At least we still got to spend some time with you. I hope you have a great week. Hope to see you Friday. Oh by the way, I love Longgggg videos.
I'm òne of your fans from Jamaica They may have felt threatened by you in their coop, so the rooster defended his territory. Their spurs can cause srrious injuries.
You are such a natural, Ms. Helen and we love you dearly. I put you on every day for my 6 cockatiels to watch and they love you, too! I lived in Georgia for 10 years and miss it so much. It's way better than living in Florida. Just your accent makes me feel right at home. You have become family to me and my little birds. Sending love and praying for blessings to you today! :)
Such a sweet post. That’s so cute that your birds love to listen to Miz Helen. She’s a bird lover. Maybe they see and hear all their fellow birds on her channel.
Looks to me that they need more feed. They don't have any grass or bugs left in their pen. Give produce out of your garden that's over ripe, etc. Chickens don't take kindly to new chickens coming in their area. It is best to introduce new ones at night when they are sleeping. They need lots of feed throughout the day. They are looking good. You might want to put a solid wall over the wire fencing in the back where the nesting boxes are, esp. before winter. You are doing a great job! Love your videos. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family.😃🥰😍
You are right. Looks like mud is all they have. No grass no bugs.since she don't use the eggs let chickens out during day and let them come back to cage in eve.
@@pamelaremme38 Oh no, it is not animal cruelty. Far from it. She is caring for them. I was humbly offering a possible solution to their mood swings, not criticism. Maybe just needs to tweak a few things a little bit. She even said she is learning and thanked everyone for helping her with their suggestions. She is caring for them, making sure they are safe and she expanded the size of the pen, and gives them the worms and chicken feed they like so much. No Cruelty, just inexperienced and she is improving her knowledge regarding what they need. So please don't think to that extreme. They just might need a little more to put them in a better mood is all. It will all work out. When Steven comes back from vacation and gets his chickens that will take the added pressure off of Ms Helen. It will all work out. No extremes here, she is a very caring and loving person and loves animals. Just look at all the bird feeders in her yard. ❤️ Peace and love and compassion and comfort to you also.
Helen. You either need to get rid of him or have Steven build a separate area for him. I’ve had 2 mean roosters before and I had to get rid of them. They were attacking my grandchildren and all of us. I don’t have a rooster anymore because of that. The only nice rooster that I’ve ever had was a road island red. Be very careful Helen. He could jump on your head and really hurt you sweet friend 💜
Ms Helen watched you live today. You made me laugh so much . So glad you did not give up and stayed for your RU-vid family. Didn’t care you was upside down side ways I would carry on watching you regardless. You are a inspiration to us all . But now you know you can do it with out help. So very proud of you that you did not give up. Well done you deserve a medal as I know I would of had a nervous breakdown if I couldn’t do it I would of given up.
OMGosh I AM laughing so hard that you caught Stevens chicken!!! Hahaha ! What will you do next, build a log cabin ? You are so busy in the peaceful place!!
If you leave food in the pen all the time the rooster will not attack you :) Just helping and hope your not too hurt Helen x I need to point out being not many others are but you are not feeding them enough and this is why they are behaving like this .. they need far more feed and variety and certainly more than is being given and all the hens will fight and hurt each other with some killing each other.
You did just fine. We all do things like that from time to time, so don't worry. We are happy to give you all the time you need to get settled, so don't get upset over it.
Dear Helen, We felt frustrated along with you till you finally got the live video going. It was a great show in spite of the narrow screen and you ultimately prevailed as always. Determination got the rooster capture done. Steven will remember you catching his rascally rooster forever. The whole chicken thing shows how crafty you are. Few outsmart chickens 😂 but you did ! Great job tracking down Sneaky, that rascally rooster of Steven's. That's what we named him. Just like you to properly round him up. Great job ! Love from New Mexico 🌈 Dave and Cher
Miss Helen you are doing fine! I'm like you Miss Helen I like to do things when I want to and I don't think I need help. If I do need help I'll ask. You just keep being you! You're wonderful just the way you are! Please put peroxide on that scratch. It could get infected very easy.
Yes I agree...the peroxide will boil out any dirt or infection. But don't overdo it, as peroxide damages healthy cells too. Once should be enough, and put some triple antibiotic ointment on the places the rooster scratched you Helen. As a nurse I was trained well in wound treatment. Doesn't need to be covered except when you might get dirt or messing with the chickens, and it might get nasties in the wound. As we age our skin can become delicate and not heal as quickly and well. Anyways, if it starts getting red, esp. red stripes going around it, you need to see the Dr.
Ms. Helen, You are a success. We don't care if the video is not focused right etc. We come here because you have a peaceful, loving soul. You are creative and such a joy to listen to. We love you. 164 THOUSAND people LOOOOOVE you. Please remember that. Don't worry about anything but just being yourself. BIGGGG hugs!
You are just the cutest thing! I love your shirt you have on today. It’s beautiful. You did a good job with the video even with all the trouble you had.
Didn't see live yesterday, but watching today. I don't mind if video is not set up perfectly. Don't worry about it. We're going to watch you anyway. I love to hear you talk about whatever. Love you to the moon.
Helen we had a rooster. We called him Roostie. He was wild. He never tried to peck us. He would come running to us like a dog. When his hens would hatch out chick's he would scratch up food for them then step back and let them eat. He was a good provider for his off spring. When he passed I can't tell you how sad we were. We will always remember him with kind thoughts 9f how nature teaches us life lessons.
You do a wonderful job Miss Helen and I love the live chats as does my friend Lynne in NZ who told me about your channel . I live in Denmark Europe now and miss her so much but we love watching you and your family 😊🐓
You need to make you a door on the outside of the box so you can get the eggs with out going in cage. I want to know what kind vitamins you take to have the energy you have. God has blessed you. You are a blessing to know and watch.
Hahaha! I hadn’t watched the whole thing but now I know what got your rooster all upset. It’s the little rooster! They really get upset when a new one comes into the picture. Captain Hodges wants to be the only man in town!
You were doing fine and we enjoyed you! Then you got into LIVE and RU-vid ON TV. It’s ok,drop it. It’s stressful. Use your camera or phone and just keep going! We will watch.💛
Roosters protect the hens, especially when setting, broody, or whatever you call it. Clean the wounds well, their feet and nails contain chicken waste.
ALSO, I ALWAYS HAVE FEED IN MY CHICKEN HOUSE..THEY CAN EAT WHEN EVER THEY WANT. EVERY DAY WHEN I LET THEM OUT OF THEIR HOUSE TO PEN, THEY EXPECT AND GET SOME KIND OF " TREAT" !!
Captain Hodges is the KING of his flock. Steven's flock probably freaked him out. I have a lot of hawks and eagles and live on a lake with alligators. I got the Brahma chickens because they are large (10 pound hens), and they are also good for meat and eggs as well as docile. They don't like the heat but are cold hardy. I have three dogs and have train the dogs to watch them but not attack. My chickens free range and return to their coop at night by themselves. They are only locked in overnight.
Ann... I didn't catch the video live, but did watch the whole thing later. I kept wondering that exact same you just said.. If maybe Captain Hodges wasn't happy about the new neighbors moving in?? 😱 That does make sense!!! I hope Helen see's your response (and the others here who mentioned that possible reason!)... 😦🐓🐔
I 💗 all your videos Miss Helen. I am so glad I found you on RU-vid you are a breath of fresh air in this crazy world. My last name is Hodges through marriage but it would be neat if we were somehow related. You’re more text savvy than I am @56 years old.🤗🙏💜
I love you, Helen. My next door neighbor's name is Helen and she's 81 this year. The Lord sees all, Sweetie. Remember that love conquers all. Now here's an edit from me. Don't listen to the enemy. You're wonderful, you're loved, the way you've shared your heart and come clean as a wonderful Christian...it's impressive. Love, you're going to Heaven. I wanna be there with you in Heaven.
Helen, you keep doing what you do! You are amazing!! When your family wants to help you please let them. They do it because they love you dearly . I too am a senior and am so blessed to have the love and support of my loving family. I consider it another of God's wonderful blessings.
Embarrassing, no Miss Helen. You did great, so many people of all ages can't do half of what you do. I'm pretty sure I'd have many videos that were just like this if I tried. I"d of been so frustrated I'd of quit. Don't let it bother you dear, you did great. You amaze me. Love your videos. Blessings 💖
If you raise incubator chicks you will have to care for them yourself until they are old enough to put in with your chickens and then you will have to keep them separate for awhile until they get used to each other. The hens will not take care of them. They will kill them or peck them really bad. Just enjoy your chickens and leave it at that. Hens will start to set and then quit. They have had the broodiness bred out of them over the years. Some breeds will set and others won't.
Hello there Ms. Helen I enjoy your energy 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 it’s technology that challenges us keep trying 😃 I’m enjoying watching you figure it out!I’ve been there. I’m staying until you get through👏🏽 Make sure there’s no parasites in your chickens 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
Helen just press the square in the bottom left and I think it will open the picture open it will open wide it's a little square in the corner of the left
You so cute Ms.Helen. Animals are unpredictable put on gloves and things to protect yourself maybe a hat, etc. ❤️You cause you tickle me. But one thing I think you are more fiesty than that old rooster you got🤣
You know sweetie, I get to see you, your wind chimes that I absolutely LOVE and your hummingbird feeders (all my favorite things that you normally show except your red birds). I call what I see and you not giving up a win win in my book. Love your videos ; )
When you remove your eggs take a deep bowl. Of water 🌊 lay the eggs in the. Water if they stay on the bottom of the bowl they are good to eat your chickens are not setting it's to hot
A rooster attacking you is scary. One attacked me when I was a 3YO. It is my earliest childhood memory. I was scared to death of birds after that. I'm a little better now but won't get near a rooster. By the way, he sure tasted tough that evening.
Good friends of ours moved into a new house. They put up a 6 foot fence and built a chicken coop with 5 chickens, no roosters. (You don’t need a rooster for eggs only). Anyway, a few days after the hens were introduced to the coop. That night, two Bobcats, ( that are plentiful in Florida), they ate all the chickens! All that was left was the feathers in the coop. Get rid of that aggressive rooster! All the rooster is going to do is make more baby chicks. You don’t need all of that excessive work Ms. Helen ❤️
The chickens need a perch. They love to perch. Plus they should have a closed in coop with a hole and a latter going into the coop. They perch at night. There need the coop to get out of the cold weather in the winter and to protect them from predators.. They also need cold water and lots of it all day... Just trying to help. I have 6 chickens and one is a rooster. You want to collect your eggs every day....
That's what is meant by pecking order! When you add younger chickens to one's already in a group....they will let the new ones know who is boss. They make them roost on lower level than they do, take their food, etc.
